"Well...I got exactally what I ordered from them -- in perfect brand new condition. The shipment took a few days longer than expected, but arrived in excellent condition. I did have to contact them and listen to a short sales pitch for accessories, but Charlie was very nice and not pushy at all. I am happy with my purchase, just suprised to see how many bad reviews they have gotten."
"* DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE *
I know, I know, ALL the reviews say this, but I thought, "man, how bad can it be?" I mean, they are a website, approved by VISA, people make purchases, they do ADVERTISING, certainly SOMETHING must work. Maybe, people just have had bad experiences with standard UPSELL type of products, cameras, home theatre equipment, computers, etc. I mean, I was just ordering one small item, not much chance for upsell. The only caveat was, I NEEDED to order by a certain date in order to get a rebate associated with the item
Ordered the item fine. Pricing was GREAT, about 10% less than other retailers Received order confirmation in email quickly. In about five days, I thought I would call and check on the order. Then I get an email saying, I have to call to confirm the order. Just as others have posted here and other places, this is standard operating procedure - for the upsell. But, my order was just a simple item a flash. Didn't need anything else, no batteries, difuser, nothing. Just a replacement flash. So, I call tell them that and that is it.
When a week passed and nothing arrived, I decided to call
"Uh, that item is back ordered" Do'nt know when we are going to get it in stock.
So I asked "well, then why does it show IN STOCK on the website?" Uh, I don't know.
So, I waited, two weeks, THREE weeks, finally in the fourth week I call again. "Uh, still don't have it in stock" Of course the item STILL showed IN STOCK on the website. They asked for me to wait just a few more days, so I did.
About three days later, I check the website for status and it says ORDER CANCELLED. Well, I didn't cancel the order, nobody did except fotoconnection. They probably just didn't want to sell the item at the discounted price they had sold it to me for. cheap site, no good. I would NEVER order from them again.
When I called, all they could say was "look, if I had it I would sell it to you but I don't, what do you want?" "I don't know why your order was cancelled without any confirmation," and then they hung up.
Learned my lesson, I should have just read these reviews and moved on."
"DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS STORE!!! I ordered a DVD player and television. They charged my card immediately, plus added an unauthorized "shipping insurance" charge of $20. Their site still lists this DVD player as in stock, but it's not. I have been on the phone with them 12 times. It took three times just to get them to cancel the order. Finally cancelled, BUT I am being CHARGED $25 shipping on the DVD Player I never got. They said their policy is to not refund shipping if one of your items has shipped.
They lied to me repeatedly -- always said the DVD player is coming in "Tomorrow", only it never came in. The headaches were not worth trying to save a few dolloars. PLease go with a reputable dealer. I have been shopping online for years and years; and NEVER had problems like I did with FOTOCONNECTION "
"My story sounds just like many of the others I am now reading... I have called tons of times over the past month and a half, and they will not resolve my issues (relating to an incomplete order and extra shipping costs)."
"Worst experience ever!!! Never buy from these people. My story is the following:
I placed an order on June 17th for an Olympus macro lens that was discontinued from the manufacturer but on fotoconnection website was showing as being in stock. So I fell into their trap.My credit card was charged almost right away and on June 19th I received an e-mail confirming that my order has been successfully processed and it has been sent to the Shipping Dept. But I never received a tracking number for my order. So I sent an email to them asking about it and they reply that it will ship within the next 24-72 hours please call sales and speed it up thank you. I call the company and they say to me that it was already shipped out so I will receive a tracking number shortly. After a couple days I emailed them back to update my order status and their reply was "Im so sorry for this delay, but I show that this item is on a back order and that we should have that by mid week". The date was July 7th.I call them back and they wouldn't explain to me the situation. They just told me realy rudely to wait a couple more days and if the item arrives they would expedite the shippment. So on July 11th I email them again and they reply "I'm so sorry for this delay, but I show that this item is on a back order and that we should have that by mid week next week, if you have any questions please call your sales man thank you for being so patient". At this point I decided to cancel my order. I called them and initially they were happy to help me but when they heard that I want to get also my money back they became really rude and unhelpful. Initially they were denying of having charged my credit card and then they started forwarding my call from person to person, puting me on hold for ages, hanging up the phone and when I was trying to call them back they did not pick up the phone. So finally after trying 6 or 7 times I got hold of someone that was polite and willing to help me. He told me that my order was just dropped for shippment and that I would have it in 2 days. How was that possible suddenly to come out of back order I don't know. I was really suspicious but he even provided me with a tracking number. After 2-3 days my shippment arrived. But guess what? It had to do nothing with what I ordered or what was shown over their site. It was a lousy macro lens without any manufacturer ID. A total fraud. I still do not know if it is worth trying to return the item as I do not think I want to mess up with these people any more. I am just wondering after reading all these bad reviews (which I wish I had done in advance) is there any authority that can take legal action against the frauds of these company? A friendy advise: Just stay away from them.

"Buyer Beware- These people are true catch and swap. I ordered a Nikon 7900 at their low rate. (noting that on their front page "all equipment is new and with 1 year warranty"). When I called to check on my order I was told I needed to read the company policy in that my unit did not come with a warranty and would be a "parallel import" which can mean many things as in this case a reman unit. Of course my card had already been charged. I had to pay additional for a new unit with a warranty. Read "Our Policy" SICKENING "
"DO NOT order from this company. They use the old "bait and switch"! I ordered a camera that was advertised on their website as having a 1 year manufacturer warranty. I received the standard confirmation email and figured that everything was fine. I received another email that said that I needed to call and confirm. Then they informed me that the camera I ordered did not come with a warranty and that it would be an additional $30. When I told them that I was looking at their website and the item stated that it came with a warranty, they came back with "we don't have the item you ordered and we have cancelled your order". I will never buy from this company no matter how low their prices are!!!"
"Ordered a Nikon 7900, they had the lowest advertised price. Got an email from them that there was a problem with the order. I called them got put on hold for about 20 minutes and was told that someone would call me back. Never got the call, called them back put on hold for about ten minutes and then had a sells person tell me that the battery, charger, and owners manual was not included (even though it said it was in the product description) and that it would cost $79 dollars more to get this. I told them that I would like to cancel the order. They told me that they had already charged my card and that there would be a fifteen percent restocking fee. Beware if you order from these people call it in and find out what you are getting."
"WORST purchasing experience EVER...I will NEVER use them again and won't even look at anything from them. I wish I had seen these ratings first, I would of avoided them
When I purchased the speaker wire, I asked that it be shipped 2nd day air, as I was finishing my basement and was running short of time. They sent the wrong wire. So I called back and they said they would send the correct wire and agree to overnight ship it, due to my time constraint. Nothing arrived the next day and when I called they gave me an invalid Fed Ex tracking number. So called again and they said they would ship again and I asked for the shipping number right away, but they said they couldn't get right away and would email it to me. Never got the email and in calling back the once again gave me an invalid Fed Ex tracking number. But they assured me it was being sent and the confusion with the tracking number was because it was being shipped directly from the manufacturer. The correct wire never did arrive.
Oh ya, and this all took probably about 50 calls and several hours...including being disconnected several times and very long waits.
So, upon getting approval to return the wire, I was told I would be given full credit due to their mistake...they only credited me for the wire itself and I had to eat the $35 shipping costs. In trying to challenge this, I asked for a supervisor and was put on hold for 1/2 hour and then disconnected."
"I'll just paste from my complaint ticket. As of today (3 months after order and 6 phone calls), this has still not been resolved. I have purchased LOTS of stuff online over the years and have never experienced such thievery. I'm just going to call my credit card company for a charge back and report fotoCONnection to the BBB. Avoid this company at all costs:
Your Message: (March 22, 2005, 1:01 pm)
I am extremely dissatisfied with your company, and expect prompt refund of the over charge mentioned below. I placed my first order with your company on March 1st. I was contacted the next day by a persistent telemarketer trying to sell me accessories for my $1000 camera, many of which were already included with the kit. Very unprofessional. I then heard nothing on my order. I find it very disheartening that your company is very quick to try and sell me crap I don’t need, but be in no hurry to ship what I have already purchased. I placed a call a week or so later to find out the status of my order as it was still in ‘verified’ status. I was told it would ship that day. After receiving no shipping notification and no change in order status, I called again the following day. The representative apologized, again said it would ship that day, and in an effort to make up for the delay gave me a free shipping upgrade to 2 day air. This was acceptable. Your company made some mistakes, but the representative was trying to correct them in a meaningful way. My camera did arrive, albeit 2 weeks after I ordered it. But now, I get my credit card bill, and there is an additional $59.40 charge for the express shipping!! Unbelievable. I will never order from your company again, and will give you a negative review on any web-based ordering portal that lists your company. My credit card was charged $1069.38, when it should have been charged $1009.98. I expect the $59.40 to be refunded to my credit card immediately. Thank You."
"I bought an Elaectrolux Harmony Canister for 40% less than the next best price available. The vacuum cleaner arrived within 24 hours in perfect condition. I couldn't ask for better value and service. I read so many negative reviews about this merchant that I felt I should add my very positive experience."
"My story: I received a product I didn't order and was charged more than I authorized on my card. When I attempted to send back the camera, I was told I could just keep the product and get a price adjustment. The price adjustment never came, and when I finally got around to using the camera (now that I knew I wouldn't have to be sending it back) I found out it was defective. There was nothing fotoconnetion would do - it was just past the 14 day return period. I literally spent hours on the phone waiting for someone who would even speak to me about the problem - but no luck. THESE ARE NOT HONEST PEOPLE. I finally had VISA charge back the unauthorized amount, but I am left with a $300 piece of junk.
"
"I had to call in because of "problems with the order".
Then the hard sales pitch came and when I'd buy nothing extra Levi told me the camera came with no warranty and the manual was in japanese and I'd better buy their warranty or I'd have trouble. These statements were both lies. He then said I'd have to pay some $23 more, but since this was still the lowest price I still bought the camera.
The camera came and all was okay, a US model with English manuals. I won't shop at FotoConnection again."
"I want to share my story about this vendor so that other people do not get suckered in like I did. First off, believe all of the negative posts about this vendor - they are dishonest and very rude. (I should have done more research before placing my order). I called in to place an order for a 42 inch LCD TV. I first went through the steps online to get my total and then decided to call to make sure the item was in stock. The salesperson (if you want to call him that) was not just rude but was more interested in selling me stuff that had nothing to do with my order. Before placing the order I asked many times for a total with shipping but each time I did so I was told that he was not able to give a price until I have him my credit card number. I should have known then that I was in for trouble. After he got my creditcard number he give me a total that was $371 dollars higher then what it was online! Online the shipping price was $150. When I asked him to explain why he told me that the extra $221 was for processing and insurance? No where on the website does it mention this? So of course I told him to cancel the order. At this point he hung up the phone? Can you believe this? What class? I then called my credit card company and told them to block this vendor. The woman @ the credit card company told me that the get calls about this vendor for the same exact reason. They offer a low price and then add a fake charge to the order without the customer even knowing. Thank god I called my credit card company when I did. Now, here is the sad part of my story, can you believe that I had to call FotoConnection 5 times to have then cancel the order. The supervisor was more rude then the salesperson telling me that my order already shipped! I explained that it was impossible since I had just placed the order a few mins ago. He assumed me that he saw my TV being loaded on a truck? What a bunch of unprofessional people. How can these people go to work in the morning knowing that they are about to rip off the public. Finally he promised me that he would email me a confermation that he indeed cancled my order. You guessed it - I never got that email from him.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS VENDOR. My experiece was the worst that I ever went through in my 45 years on this earth. You will be sorry!"
"I ordered a Samsung HL-R5067W HDTV television from FotoConnection.com on 5/12/2005 and this internet reseller is absolutely terrible. I thought I had ordered camera memory from them with good results. I was mistaken. Their reseller rating lifetime rating was listed as 2.12 out of 10. A more recent rating was 1.87. I was told the TV was in stock and I could have the TV in two weeks. My credit card was charged. I was then told the TV was shipped on 5/18/2005. I was then told it was shipped on 5/27/2005. I was told the trucking company broke the screen. I was told the sub $2000 price was for the HL-P not the HL-R, even though my paper work and the on-line ad stated HL-R. I did finally receive a credit back to my credit card on 6/10/2005. Now they are saying that they are having trouble getting this product in stock. I guess I know why their reseller rating is so low."
