"My order was "in process" for 1 week. I called customer service, forwarded to back-order dept, and was hung up on. I called back, forwarded again to back-order dept and phone just kept ringing. Conveniently, I was called the next afternoon to let me know that my glasses would not be available for another 3 weeks. I paid EXTRA for overnight/expedited shipping. That should have been an indicator for sales that I wanted the glasses as soon as possible and they should have contacted me a lot sooner to let me know the frames were not available. I also emailed customer service regarding my order and I still haven't received a response (3 weeks ago).
I canceled the order and went to alocal shop. Though I paid 75 dollars more, I received my glasses within the week. I would NOT recommend buying prescription glasses from FramesDirect."
"Horrible. I purchased frames/lens. On my order, I made a note to check the frame for scratches and marks. It took 3 weeks to get the frames and when they arrived the edges of the lens were not polished which was included, the prescription seemed off and the frame had a scratch on it. I called customer service and they said to go to my optician to see if the lens were correct. Why should I have to do that? I would not feel comfortable doing that since I purchased them online. I sent the frames back and only got 1/2 of the lens purchase price. I wrote an email regarding this and have not heard back. Sent another email. Still nothing. I have ordered from Frames Direct many times but will NOT in the future and will be telling friends and family of my experience so they don't have to go through the same thing. "The product exceeded expectations the process did not. I ordered the glasses on 05/18/2012. I was not notified that frames were on back order until I called on 5/24. Followed up several times and finally told on 06/04 that frames had been received on 06/01 and were being forwarded to the lab. My credit card was charged.
Spoke with customer service on 06/07-06/08 and was told I should have glasses the middle of the following week.Called on 06/14 and was told that they would ship on 06/15 for next day delivery on 06/18. Called on Saturday to confirm they has shipped and was told no. I cancelled my order. I was told a Supervisor would call me on Monday. I called Monday morning and confirmed my cancellation and that credit card would be credited.
Tuesday evening, 06/19 I received an email that the glasses had shipped.
They showed up on Wednesday. The cancellation never occurred. My card was not credited. I am keeping the glasses. In fact as I said at the outset. They are excellent it is the process that is the issue."
