"Because I ordered progressive bifocal lens for my glasses I was worried that there were be a problem. Everyone I told that I ordered glasses on line told me that wasn't a good idea. However they arrived today and I am very happy with them. No problems at all. I worried for nothing. Before I actually ordered the glasses I called FramesDirect several times to ask questions and every time the staff were very pleasant and helpful."

"Completely and utterly abysmal customer service. I placed my order on June 8th through the phone and explicitly specified to the customer representative that I would need both pairs of glasses by the 25th. She guaranteed that I would receive them by the 25th, and I ordered under that strict presumption. Since I placed my order on the 8th, each time I checked in with a live chat representative to determine my order status, I've received different estimated dates of completion; some have told me that they've been ready to ship, whereas others have told me that they will be ready to ship in a few more business days. These types of inconsistencies are simply inexcusable given the amount of money I paid. My order was close to $800; when I shell out that kind of money, I expect nothing short of excellent customer service. To this date, I haven't received anything close to that, and I definitely will not be returning to order other glasses from FramesDirect. As a matter of fact, I would NOT recommend this website to any of my friends or family who are looking to order prescription glasses. Stay away from FramesDirect; you'll be glad you did.

UPDATE 6/25/12: I was contacted by their operations manager shortly after this review was posted; thereafter, my problems were promptly resolved and both pairs of glasses were delivered prior to the promised delivery date.

"I ordered a pair of sunglasses that did not fit correctly. After I called and spoke to the sales associate, I was able to send a picture to her and she helped me to find a pair that would compliment my face/style that we both agreed would work better. I returned the first purchace and after the order was processed, I was able to get correct piar with some money returned for the difference in cost. Great customer service. !"

"I've got a very bad experience with this store which cost me a fortune.
The problem is not in their service but in the products which they sell and their quality checking.
First i ordered a very expensive Savile Row glasses for a total of $407.20 (they are with gold coating of 14kt).
Problem with this frame was in their long shipping. I waited a whopping month until the frame was shipped from their office (i decided to wait because this frame is UK-made & i thought that it's shipping from there). And i think today that they are just repairing this frame so long, because they was in mediocre condition or something like that. Yes, they sold me a repaired, maybe a refurbished frame for glasses. Why? Because i received them in very awkward condition - this frame got 4 screws on the lenses - only one original golden screw on one side and 3 not authentic and it's clearly visible because this three are too different and longer than original screw and they ugly trimmed and i can even see their aluminum core. One lens (this is frameless model) where it's drilled with screw in the center of frame is marked with tiny spot of something like superglue - i received glasses in this condition in 1st day when they arrived and can't clean them because this place is hard to reach. Thankfully this glue spot is too small.
That's not what I expected to receive considering the picture on store site, on the site of UK-manufacturer of this frame which showing photos of many celebrities using it's products...
I wonder - how Framesdirect even shipped such product for me without checking it's quality first? The funny thing is that they confirmed me by email that "your glasses in our lab". What kind of lab it is - when they can't see that frame was with minor flaws. In conclusion - just awful.
I was needed this glasses only for home-use so i haven't paid attention to this flaws in 1st frame & made a second order for new sunglasses with prescription lenses - very very expensive - a Maui Jim Wailea for a total of $639 ($400 only for sun lenses).
This is a great looking sunglasses, and this time they was alright in quality BUT very very wrong in Sizing. I overlooked the size of temple which in most Maui Jim's is 128mm's still even today - that's a size literally for a kids heads. My sunglasses is small to wear on my ears, in fact they are not suitable for any adult. By selling such glasses store must write warning of such size in very big bold red color. Hiding such info is unacceptable in usual tiny text font. The funny thing is that they are called me on mobile to check that i'm purchasing them but not even warn me about such small sizing sunglasses.

1st order is from 3/15/2010, second from Jun-29-2010. Anyway, i'm using the glasses from this store somehow but will never make any purchase here again. Wasn't able to return to change the glasses in time because i left the United States and in other country now. Don't want to contact them again.
Will be gratefull to anyone for any advice of a real great glasses online store.
