"Twice I've ordered from GameStop.com, twice I received an email telling me my order had gone through, and twice they've canceled my order a day after the deal I was trying to take advantage of expired. Both times there was no explanation for the cancellation--and the second time I wasn't even informed my order had been canceled. After waiting a month for it, I checked their website, and that's when I found out. "

"Ordered Mario Galaxy 2. Good price, made better with an online coupon. Good deal, as they were offering $20 credit for purchase of future game. Ordered game on weekend and received coupon code on Monday. Game shipped fairly quickly, well packaged.

Used credit in a 2nd order towards purchase of a another game. They did hold up my order for 1 day, while they called to verify my order. I was shipping to an address different from my billing address. Not sure why they shipped the first order without checking, but then checked the second order. 2nd order also received promptly.

"I ordered a used copy of a game. I saved the description page (important) and the invoice page at the time of my order. They sent me my order twice and billed me twice. I tried calling them, but once I got through the woman tried to put me on hold again but actually hung up on me. I e-mailed them and they agreed to refund one of the charges. That's all fine. On the description for my used game, it stated: "This pre-owned product is guaranteed to work and includes a box with original cover art and instruction manual." I sent them a copy of the page where it states that and they replied with a link to their current page where it's sold out and now says that it may not include those. I replied back with the version that I saved attached again, with the exact same time stamp as my invoice and explained that clearly it had changed in the meantime. Their reply was: "We just checked that on our website and according to our site, it is not guaranteed to come with the original box art or manual." I don't know if this is willfully ignoring the proof that I sent them or just astonishing ineptitude. Either way, I will not be ordering from them again."

"I got an email stating I could buy MLB2K10 for my PC for $2.99. I did and got a message saying my amex had problems and my order was not processed. I called customer service and they said they had problems all day but refused to help fix my problem. I eventually gave up and never bought the game.

"I bought two games using a coupon to "buy one get one". The coupon applied properly in checkout. The next day I was sent a different invoice and charge full price for both games. I contacted GS and asked them to apply the coupon or cancel the order. They replied:

"Based on the popularity of the offer and the high demand of the used games, we have depleted so much of our inventory that we could not provide this promotion to our customers any longer."

No acknowledgment of the cancellation.

They then somehow found the inventory of my items and shipped them anyway (at full price, of course). I am now disputing the transaction. Get your games somewhere else folks. Their deals are rarely any good anyway.

"I got one word to describe Gamestop, TERRIBLE. I always have bad experiences with them. So, far with this order I haven't had any issues, but I wanted to review them. When COD MW2 came out I decided to trade in my old Xbox 360 games to get it. My friend told me I would have more than enough money to get the game if I traded in all my games ( I had about 12-15 games, most only 1-2 years old). So, we went to Gamestop to trade them in and I only got $48 for all of them and had to pay $12 to get COD MW2. This is before I realized there were better trade-in places like Gamefly and Amazon. I could've made 4x-5x more money on Amazon and 2x-3x on Gamefly. I wish I have known about these before I got scammed by Gamestop. Even the clerks at Gamestop are annoying and rude too. I don't plan on ever shopping at Gamestop again. They buy your used games for $1-$10max and sell them for 2-3 times more. I had some games that were still pretty fun and I got $3 minus a $1.50 refurb fee. Like WTF is that? Your going to charge a refurb fee? None of my games had major scratches either. Bottom line, I wouldn't plan on buying from Gamestop ever or trading in games. Use gamefly or Amazon. Gamestop is only good for getting brand new games, but I have such bad experiences, I don't plan on buying from them again. They don't even respond to these posts and help their feedback. Gamestop just doesn't care, and I hope they go out of business, but they most likely won't."

"I have placed an order for the firt's time and im very disappointed on how i was charge $6.99 for 2 day shipping. The Order was placed on 18 march and it says allow 1 day to process and 2 business day to be receive.Today is the 3rd Business day and no UPS and the tracking # they provided only show on the UPS site Shipped/Billed On:

This has never happen when i order from other company's like amazon or Newegg.

Stay Away from this company and stick with amazon or newegg for your gaming needs.

"i tried to get a refurbished ps3 sent to me on THREE different occasions. each time, same issue: we were unable to verify your banking information. please fax in a statement with your bank information showing the billing address and transactions. this is ridiculous. for one: i have never EVER in the history of purchasing anything online have had to do something like that, nor have i ever had an issue with my banking information being verified. second: with all of the identity theft and fraud going on, there is NO WAY any bank is going to verify any information with an unauthorized third party...so why even try?? third: wouldn't sending a fax with all of your information be just as fraudulent? could someone easily make some sort of template up on their computer? also, wouldn't that put you at greater risk of getting your information stolen? It has your bank account number, your billing address, and name.

It makes no sense as to why only gamestop.com feels it is necessary to be stricter than Amazon.com, ebay, or any other major online merchant. I think it's most likely due to the fact that they probably don't have the item in stock.

"I just wanted to post a positive review because before I ordered from GameStop I read the reviews here and was worried I would have a bad experience with them. I actually could not be happier with this transaction. I placed my order for a USED game on a Sunday night. Tuesday I received a "we shipped your order" email along with the tracking number. I watched the tracking each day and saw the game track across the country to me.
Today I received the game (it's Thursday-3 business days from when I ordered with REGULAR free-USPS shipping)
I was impressed with the nicely bubble wrapped package. I opened up to my surprise the USED game actually had its original plastic disc box it looked like new! I looked inside and the instructions were included and the disc looks super. It looks hardly used--a few barely visible scuffs but nothing alarming.
I am overall very very happy and thankful for the great service and FAST shipping from GameStop. I'll definitely be back!

"I consistently get bad service with Gamestop/ebgames. I find that this company is blatantly dishonest. I guess I should have read the reviews before making purchases with these guys. My latest issue is that I purchased a game on 15 February with guaranteed delivery on the 16th (the game’s release date) by using/paying for overnight express delivery. The website specifically stated, “Pre-order Everquest II: Sentinels Fate by February 15 at 11am CST with overnight shipping and get guaranteed delivery on the street date of February 16! If your product does not arrive on the street date, we will fully refund your shipping charge.” Additionally, the product’s status was listed as “In Stock.”

So I make the purchase expecting it to arrive the next day as promised. Instead, what I received was an email stating, “Your order for Everquest II: Sentinels Fate Collector's Edition is currently delayed and will not ship according to our original estimate. The next shipment is scheduled to arrive in our distribution center on Thursday 2/18/10.” They apologized, gave me a coupon for $10 off my next GameStop.com order, upgraded my order to UPS 1-Business-Day shipping and credited the shipping charges.

I’m thinking cool, a coupon I’ll never use. At least they were going to refund the shipping costs as guaranteed. And, I’ll have the game by the 19th, which was a Friday and will have it in time for the weekend. I don’t understand how next day delivery could be upgraded to 1-Business-Day shipping. This sounds like the same thing to me, but what do I know.

On the 19th I had yet to hear anything from Gamestop regarding my order. I looked it up on the website and see that the order status is still listed as pending. I’m fed up at this point so I attempt to cancel the order as I have decided to make my purchase with a local merchant. The website provides a cancel order button, but when I clicked on the link, a window opens up giving me an error stating that I was not able to cancel my order at this time. I went back to the order history page and it still listed my order as pending.

At this point I’m fuming. I sent an email to the company stating, “You still have not shipped this order. I’ve tried to cancel the order, but your automated system will not let me. I purchased this on the promise that I would have it on the 16th. Then I was told that it would be shipped on the 18th. Please cancel my order immediately.” The next day (Saturday the 20th) Gamestop responded with, “Your order shipped on 2/19/10. The UPS tracking number on your package is…”

According to the UPS tracker, the billing information was received at 9:35 PM on the 19th! Gamespot received my request to cancel the order several hours earlier, but instead of cancelling my order they made a late night shipping request with UPS. And, since it was sent on a Friday, I won’t see it until Monday… If I’m lucky.

I’m done with this company.

"I ordered a refurbished Xbox 360 Pro 20GB console from Gamestop yesterday. I got two day shipping, thinking it would be here by the coming Tuesday. Boy, was I wrong. IT WON"T COME. Why? Because GameStop CANCELED my order for NO REASON. Right now, I am waiting for an email response from them. Right now, they new too step up the competence and actually be a reputable company. I am currently trying to resolve the issue. However, that being said, this event has left a bad taste in my mouth. I do not know if I can recommend them to friends of family."

"Ordered a PC game from them. Price was good, shipping was very fast. The case for the game was damaged, however. This really isn't gamespots fault, as the damage looked to have been done when it was manufactured. It was noticeable, however, and probably shouldn't have been shipped. The contents (cds) weren't damaged though, just the case they came in. Overall I would do business with them again."

"If you do one thing, DO NOT ever order anything from this website. I ordered the Wii Sports + additional Wii Motion Remote (was suppose to be for free). I checked out and it originally showed the price of the Wii Motion was subtracted, then it magically was added at the end?! Everything for their website was listed as Pacific Standard Time, as Amazon operates with their deals for Black Friday. They claim since I ordered at 1pm EST (10AM PST) that I was not entitled to this deal. Horrible customer support and website, will avoid at all costs in the future. "
