"I've had about 10 orders with the Gamestop corporation over the past three years, and half of which ended in disaster. If you see Playstation 1 games for under 5 dollars on their site, avoid them as 70% of the time they did NOT even work. Their quality control is NON-EXISTANT. The final straw was when they rejected my debit card after three weeks of dodging my e-mails. Please support your local game stores or other online game stores and NOT Gamestop's monopoly."
"Returning ANYTHING from this company is a hassle. Got a psp as a gift with warranty and a game, try to return the warranty the next day and was told it's not refundable. Then tried to return a used game under their 7 day used game policy and was told that it's not the right policy, posting false return policies is called fraud in the state of NY. And the greatest part was, I was told this is not a rent-a-game. So the morale of this story, make sure it is exactly what you want, if not you'll have to deal with the poor customer service. I also called corprate, they told me that it depends on each store, so basically the return policy that is posted up doesn't mean anything. "
"Accidentally ordered something overnight, and then I realized I had ordered the wrong item anyway, so I emailed them to cancel my order. More than 4 hours later, while the order status was still "processing" according to their website, their Customer Service representative replied to tell me I couldn't cancel because it had already been packaged and was waiting to be picked up. The status didn't change from "processing" to "shipped" until 2 hours later. In short, my order probably could have been cancelled if their customer service wasn't so hellacious. Nice job, Gamestop!"
"I ordered "Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence" and got it within two days. I was really excited to play the online modes and the extra features. But, when I opened the package, it only had one disc. I wasn't sure if it only had one disc or two, but it said "disc 1" on it. An alarm went off in my head. Did they only give me one disc of a two disc set? I popped in the game and unfortunately, I had been ripped off. ALL of the features I had been waiting for were on the absent second disc. The website advertises that the game has online features and multi-player options. Too bad you need both discs to participate in these extra features. A second disc which I did not receive. Nor was there any warning of only one disc arriving. Only that used games may not have original casing or manuals. What the hell is up with that? Now I am playing email tag with customer service, which is also less than appealing. And no one there seems to get the point that I was ripped off. Here are the emails up until now.

My last resort is to do a store exchange. I can only hope that it will go better than this whole pile of online crap.
--Disgruntled Ex-Customer of GameStop.com
P.S. I hate GameStop.com GameStop is all right."
"This online store is great. I had never had any problems ordering a game from here. This was from a while back when I ordered Street Fighter EX3. It came real fast by UPS, and it worked in my PS2. Other purchases from here included Bloody Roar, DDR MAX, and Pokemon Channel, and a very recent one my brother made here, for a Victorious Boxers 2 PS2 game. We had no problems ordering from Gamestop. They had pretty good service here."
"I ordered a Nintendo DS and FF3 bundle on Dec. 5. This was an online-only offer that said it usually ships in 24 hours. They did not ship the DS until Dec. 13 and the game on Dec. 14. They never notified me of delays, but I was able to check my order myself on their site. During that time, both items went between backorder and usually ships within 24 hours several times. When they finally did ship, they gave me UPS 3-day at no extra cost. The DS was shipped in a padded envelope. I think it should have been in a box for greater protection."
"I think this is the most pitiful store anyone can buy games or systems from. All of the people working there are rude and bunch of Jerks. I am talking about the store in N. Josey Lane by Targer in Carrollton, TX. I am talking about the store manager Jared. These people will not take returns on unopen items and there is not such thing as Gift Giver's Guareente that they claim to have once you spend your money that is it. No returns whether you are satisfied or not. They only cover the Play Station for the first 30 days. Walmart covers for 90 days. I want to make clear to everyone DO NOT SHOP THERE..GAME STOP AT N. JOSEY LANE CAROLLTON, TX They are bunch or idiots and Jerks and above all Thiefs!!!"
"This is my first time ordering from this vendor and the merchandise in question is the sought after (at the time) XBox 360 console sold as a bundle with games and an extra controller. The bundle was listed as in stock and usually shipped in 24 hours, so I placed an order on Wednesday, March 22nd, knowing that "Due to order verification procedures, your order may require additional processing time - up to 72 hours." and "Your credit card may be charged up to 10 days before it ships." I got a confirmation email shortly and checked my order status, 2 items in the bundle were listed as back ordered. I spent quite a bit of money on this, and the inventory inconsistency got me worried. So I checked resellerratings.com and saw all the negative reviews, worries quickly became panic. I can only blame myself for not doing proper research. Then I sent an email to inquire about my order, I never got a reply. Weekend was over and on Monday, 3 items in the bundle were listed as shipped on their website and I recieved an email with tracking number (UPS 2nd day to Hawaii) the next day. The package was delivered to my door on Wednesday, 1 week after the ordering date and the back ordered items were delivered on Friday the same week, all were well packaged and in excellent condition. In short, I wouldn't complain about the products' merchantability or fitness to perform as advertised, but their inventory displayed on the website could be misleading if you don't look carefully and there's certainly some room for improvement in the customer service department. The buying experience was plagued by uncertainties, but they delievered. "
"I sent the following email to gamestop today. I hope someone finds it enlightening.
Dear Gamestop.com,
I was going to request an RMA, but it's christmas time, and my order (originally placed in mid november) is past the month I've got; moreover, I don't have an easy way to fedex anything back to you during the holidays.
Instead, I'm just going to tell you how dissatisfied I am.
My original order was #5051116155026278
I recieved the game I ordered, X3:reunion, shortly after I ordered it via amazon.com. no problems with the quick delivery, but from there the whole experience went south.
I attempted to install the game I ordered, and discovered the 3rd CD of the 5 that were shipped was scratched. no problem, I thought, I'll just email, get an RMA in 24 hours like it says on your website, and send it back! But a week went by, no email. I had to call to get an RMA number, and my initial email apparently got lost as I have never seen a reply.
I eventually got it returned, though it certainly wasn't sent out via 2-day air as was promised by the phone representative. I recieved it more than a week after I sent my damaged copy back, in spite of calling you back to give you my return shipment information.
Since then, I haven't had a chance to even open the box, let alone install the game. however, today I did attempt the installation. Everything was going just fine, until the installation asked for disc 6. Both times I recieved the box for this game, I was given only 5 discs.
Frankly, I'd like my money back, but I doubt anyone will even read this email. I will be telling everyone I know what poor quality control you have, and making my first experience with gamestop.com be my last. Shipping a damaged game I can understand and accept. shipping (twice!) an incomplete one is ridiculous.
I hope to see some response to this, but based on my previous email's total lack of response, I am doubtful.
I will be posting a copy of this email everywhere I can think of to post it.
Sincerely,
Thaddeus Foudray

"They cancelled my order saying they were out of stock, why can't they ship when stock is replenished? I will never do business with them again."
"Cancelled my order and did not even notify me. A notification would have been nice."
"I am complete shock, this company sent me a game boy advance with a broken screen, I sent it back out of my own pocket for shipping with delivery confirmation, my package was confirmed delivered weeks ago and customer service won't respond to my emails. another order they sent me a cracked game case with no game discs inside, I will no longer be doing business with this shady company and I would urge anyone to do the same until they get some quality control & decent customer service implemented.
Stay away from Gamestop!!"
"Preordered Civilization IV special edition. The order was shipped 2 days after the scheduled in stock date on a wednesday and recieved on the following friday, faster than expected! The correct game was sent and worked perfect! Will do business here again!"
"very bad fradulent store! customer supports is veryyyyyyy slowwwwww, and you don't get friendly replies. that's not all, I got 2 'Nintondo' gameboy games, and 1 full of scratches PS2 game from them! totally rediculous jerks people!"
"Customer service takes several days to respond to e-mail. Even after 20 days with no package customer service is telling me to wait longer (item allegedly shipped Sept 12 with 3-day shipping)."
