However, I am disappointed that the top does not come waterproofed ... or at least noted that it should be scotchguarded beforehand. When I open the box I had a small window to get it up before a party and was surprised since I went with the more expensive model that it mentioned to Scotch Guard it. Had I known I would have purchased the Scotch Guard in advance but I was at a point when I did not have time to get the top up. Needless to say it did rain that night and leaked considerably. I'm after a cover that not only protects from the sun but also works to protect from the rain and that issue is disappointing. "
