"My first order was handled in such a professional way. I only ordered one pair of glasses, being skeptical that at such a big savings it might not be what I expected.Well, I was wrong. My glasses arrived and I can see fine. My Ophthalmologist said my lenses would be expensive since I have cataracts,my recent Rx was not working and my insurance carrier would not paid for additional glasses,the optical place where I had my previous glasses quoted me an outrages fee.Then I searched the internet and came across GlobalEyeglasses.com. Here's a timeline (still on going)
2/25/12- I ordered a pair of glass.
3/1- Order was sent out and credit card charged.
3/19- contacted them to request a RMA because the size was too small dealing with Jessica.
Took another week to get a RMA for a "refund" not an "exchange" (watch out for that)
3/26- I returned the package via FedEx
4/3- package was signed and received by JHARRIS (thanks fedex)
4/23- package was inspected by their returns department
... ok now I'm waiting for the refund on my credit card...
5/18- still no refund and no word from them, so I contact them. Speak with Michael, tells me he'll take care of it... have to send out a check because some BS about not being able to refund to my card and only to a paypal account or check. "OK, fine send me a check"
5/25- still nothing. Call Michael again. Tells me he's on top of it, and will call me with a check number the next day (more BS)
5/29- get 2 calls one from Michael and another from some other rep with my check number (at least they both gave me the same number, that's a sign of hope right?)
6/7- still nothing, so I call again. This time Danielle answers and says now she's on top of it... more BS
It's now 6/11/12 - no one's answer the phones and not answer the live chat.
My credit card company has already started a fraud investigation on them... save yourself and your CC company from the headache."
" Ordered three pair of glasses. Took 30 days to receive the order. One pair was incorrect. There were two different lenses in the sunglasses.Trying to get a return authorization. Called customer service during business hours 9-6 EST, RECORDING SAID CLOSED. Asked for RMA thru live chat, said give them 24hrs. No response after 48hrs. My experience with globaleyeglasses has been a uphill battle since I initiated the order. Customer service is atrocious. At this point, the cost savings have been negated by poor service."
"This is a terrible company, only one person working there, sounds like someone's garage.
I bought rimless eyeglasses, which were slightly crooked. The screws holding the lenses in place were somewhat long, and the protective plastic came right off. Then the screw from the temple came out.
I asked them to send me a screw but they insisted that I send the glasses back. They claim they never received the glasses back and wouldn't give me another (even at a discount).
It's not worth it! "

After placing my order two weeks ago upon the reccomandation of a coworker, I've received very little info and very little hope about the progress and delivery of my order. I ordered two pairs of glasses, should've known something wasn't quite right because the website allowed to me order a pair of glasses "no longer in stock" however, while i was sent a "support ticket" informing me of this, I did not receive a credit, nor did I receive an email address or contact info for a company rep. After calling relentlessly I finally spoke with Jessica who's said she would tell "the lab" of my glasses change and have those sent to me soon,
I called jessica again the next week after receiving nothin to which i was told give them ten more days or so because theyre really busy. Its been as long no glasses, and no new information. After reading these reviews, this behavior seems typical of the company with poor outcomes on e people do receive their glasses. To make things worse, their website docent seem to be working today. I have sent my email with my demands, and if i receive no feedback soon, I will pursuing legal resolution. Hopefully I can get my glasses soon, but regardless probably won't order from this company again."
"I mainly wear contacts, but I ordered a basic pair of glasses on Feb. 22: single vision lenses, standard frames, and the more inexpensive "Bronze" package (scratch-resistant coating, etc.). I received an email four days later saying that my prescription required me to upgrade to the more expensive "Platinum" package, which is possible because I do have Astigmatism. I tried to call to discuss the issue further and was convinced by the quality of the 'customer service' that the rep. was actually a goat farmer somewhere high in the Andes. They just kept asking for my credit card number in broken English, could not connect me with anyone in authority (said they 'did not have anyone's number'). I immediately demanded a full refund and shortly afterwards was contacted by a normal-sounding person attempting to be helpful. After speaking with her I was somewhat mollified and decided that since so much time was already invested, to just go through with it and finish the order. It is now March 10, I can't reach anyone at this company, and no one is responding to my attempts to get a concrete date on the delivery of my glasses. Although I researched buying glasses online carefully, in the end you just have to take the leap and trust the company. It has been 16 days and $187, and I still have no glasses, no clue if they're even coming, and no response from the company. Not to mention the quality of the product if and when it arrives. I feel foolish for trusting an online business with even one dollar of my money and warn everyone away from this terrible company.
UPDATE: I received two emails,one from the "CEO" of the company, and one from a customer service rep. Both apologized profusely, offered discounts and rush service. I received the glasses 23 days after my original order. There was no rush service. The frames were beautiful and of great quality, but the prescription was completely wrong! I couldn't even see through them. Fed up, I demanded a prompt refund and received it within 48 hours, along with an offer for free glasses. I went to a brick-and-mortar store and ordered my glasses today. I am done dealing with the insecurity and aggravation of this company. However, their response (after I posted a complaint on a public website) was very prompt, and the frames were great. "
"I am highly disappointed in this company. I ordered a pair of glasses with no prescription (just plain lens to wear for fashion not vision) and I received what looks to be a pair of demo glasses with decals on the lens like the kind you'd try on at an optical store. I've tried through numerous e-mails, website chat, and phone to obtain an RMA. The company isn't helpful and has poor customer service. Why would you even send a customer a pair of glasses with decals on the lens? Still trying to obtain a refund of $17.10. Their returns address is in Harrisburg, NC and I live nearby, but it looks to be a UPS store. Going to contact the BBB. Ended up ordering with Zenni Optical even though they were considerably more expensive."
"I ordered two pairs of glasses, I really liked the look of both frames, and they appeared to be well made, but both pairs broke due to the lenses being too large for the frames. I don't know if it was a one time thing (maybe an inexperienced lens cutter???)
I have ordered at least a dozen pair of glasses from Zenni and I've never had a problem with their glasses (I still have pairs from them that are 4 years old), but they don't have very many styles that I like, and they aren't the best looking.
Update: I received an Email from the owner of Globaleyeglasses.com, he didn't appologize for the poorly made glasses but he did refund me the cost of the glasses and shipping and gave me a $20 rebate. Now if I could only get the exact same glasses I had before but with properly sized lenses, wayfarer styles that look good sell super fast! I am changing my rating from 1 star to 3 stars, partly because I reserve 5 stars for truly outstanding companies (ones that actually have a good stock of items would be nice!), 3 stars to me means that they are a good company, maybe they deserve more due to how cheap they are, but they would get at least one more if I still had the glasses on my face right now."

I have bought from globaleyeglasses many times 7 pairs of glasses total, I can't express the quality they provide.
One pair that I can't get over is a silver rimless frame with index 1.74 lenses (the thinest possible to make) I have -6.75 in both eyes and they made this pair look unreal. I know that at a physical store this pair would be well over 500 dollars. (the frame is unbelievable light titanium) the cost with discount was something like 120$
I would say go for them since the are literally 1/4 the cost of anyone else, and do a great job with the glasses shipped usually in less then a week. I don't know how they turn a profit. "
"I ordered progressive eyeglasses, there was a problem with the right eye, could not see anything. Requested the RMA 2 times through email as I am unable to call them during business hours. No response whatsoever."
"I have to give up on Global Eyeglasses. They have no quality control, and even given a 2nd chance to prove themselves, they squandered the opportunity. Zenni Optical did better, and for even less money.
Of 4 pairs of single vision glasses I ordered from Global Eyeglasses, all 4 pairs originally came with lens centers wider than the Pupil Distances I had specified, by up to 7.5 mm, with the right PD up to 4 mm to the right of where I specified.
Their support staff seem to have made up an excuse to cover their mistake. It took submitting a critical Reseller Ratings review, for them to finally agree to remake all lenses to my spec and attempt to prove themselves.
2 months after I sent the 4 pairs of glasses back, I finally received the remade glasses back. Although one of the 4 pairs now matches the Pupil Distances I specified, 3 still do not! One pair that I specified a total PD of 61.5 came back with 64.5, and 2 pairs that I specified a total PD of 59.5 came back with 62.5 and 72.5 respectively. That last one was too wide by 13 mm! How could they let that through the door? Don't they have an obligation to check the accuracy before shipping?
If you're willing to gamble on the accuracy of your PD, or you're willing to repeatedly return your glasses until they're right, go ahead and take a chance on Global Eyeglasses. From now on, I'm staying far away.
