"Quick and easy to purchase , even at the last minute"
"Easy to get the travel insurance. Broke down the different coverages. "
"Subscribed to the the TripProtector Preferred insurance plan and had to undergo medical tests as I got sick when traveling. Filed a claim following the online process, it has been more than 3 weeks and I haven't heard anything back from the insurance company, not a single email, and the overall subscription/filing processes were not straighforward. Unlikely to purchase again for my next travels.
"
"Everything was smooth quick and easy. "
"I purchased insurance to travel to Thailand, I had to reschedule my trip to 2 weeks later for South Korea. I figured I’d cancel the insurance I bought, get a refund and then redo the same insurance for South Korea. They don’t give refunds to certain customers they said. In my case they don’t give refunds to people from New York, LOL! If this thing allowed me to post pictures I’d show you for yourselves in case you didn’t believe me. They could have gotten hundreds out of me since I was looking to travel a lot but they’ll just get $101 and some bad reviews online. Another sleazy company that will join the graveyard of failed companies who thought it was better to cheat a quick dollar than provide good service. "
"No response to my email inquiry/claim. Just remove their email link and juts call them. "
"Needed to change expired temporary policy for overseas travel--completed in less tha an hour--with very reasonable cost
Very helpful staff --made it easy and no stress-"
"It was difficult to register with HTH in order to actually print the certificate of coverage. Took almost 25 minutes and several transfers before the process was completed."
"I have a claim due to Spirit airlines not offering a cash refund. The rep I spoke to me sent the form to fill out but I believe the process should be more automated. I believe the rep should have reviewed the form with me and provide a PDF friendly fillable form. Instead I had to visit Fedex Office to print the form and fill out manually. This was a huge inconvenience and time consuming. In addition, I didn't receive any confirmation that my claim form has been received by HTH. As such I am now spending more time following up to confirm receipt. Just a very frustrating process. "
“Hello,
We sincerely apologize for the issues that you experienced when submitting your claim.
We can confirm that we have received your claim submission, and it is currently being reviewed by one of our analysts. You should have received an auto response acknowledging that your claim was submitted successfully, and we are investigating why this email did not occur.
Additionally, as you mentioned, a fillable PDF is not currently available for this plan; however, we have forwarded your suggestion to the appropriate internal department for further consideration. Please allow up to 15 business days for resolution of your claim.
We appreciate your feedback and look forward to serving you.
Best regards,
HTH Worldwide”
"Had to return early from abroad and when I called, they were most helpful and most timely and efficient in refunding me for unused coverage days and months! Wish more companies were this way! I sent the air flight copy that showed my date of return and ID and cy of booked confirmed coverage, etc, and before three days my refund went to my credit card I used to pay for my policy."
"Was glad to have international insurance back up should it have been needed. Always one of those things that one debates..should I get it or not? I did just in case and although not needed, it was an extra peace of mind. "
"We were most disappointed that we had no coverage what so ever when our long planned trip to New Zealand was canceled through no fault of our own due to international travel restrictions imposed by the New Zealand government. I am sure that came as a major shock to a lot of other policy holders who, like us, bought our coverage when we first booked our trip which was before the COVID-19 pandemic.
The good news was that we were able to avoid out-of-pocket loss because the airline refunded our tickets and we were able to cancel our hotel bookings without charge (with one minor exception). We rebooked the trip for the following year and we were pleased that we were able to transfer our HTH coverage for our postponed trip with only a minor additional charge.
The lesson learned is to not book travel without knowing about cancellation policies for the airlines, hotels and tour providers and to not buy HTH coverage until the last minute when you have a high probability of actually going on the trip. "
“Hello,
Thank you for your review!
The underwriter of your policy has set Administrative Guidelines in place for customers whose trips have been cancelled due to Coronavirus. If you are eligible for a refund of premium, please send us proof that your travel supplier cancelled the trip as well as proof that your full trip cost was refunded to you. Our email address is: tripprotection@hthworldwide.com
Premium Refunds
1. Trip Cancellation
If the tour operator cancels the trip completely, and provides a full refund of trip costs, Nationwide will refund the premium for the travel insurance. Nationwide will not offer a refund for travelers who voluntarily cancel their trip, even if the tour operator gives a full refund.
2. Trip Postponement
If a Traveler postpones their Trip due to the Coronavirus, Nationwide will allow the Traveler’s current insurance policy to extend to those new trip dates provided:
a. The new trip dates are no more than 18 months from their original trip dates.
b. Additional premium, if needed based on the new or postponed trip, will be collected. No refund will be considered if the premium for the new or postponed trip is less than the original trip premium.
Best regards,
”
"Terrible system. No customer service. Didn’t give me what they offered. Wasted my time. I will never use them again.

"Was not accepted internationally and couldn’t figure out how to get a refund "
"A bright spot in this COVID year. They were flexible with changing cruises during the pandemic and when we were finally cancelled, they promptly returned our premium. I will definitely use them again when the pandemic ends."
"Great experience- very responsive "

Our notes show you reached out with a request to cancel, however, based on a decision made by the NYS Insurance Commissioner we explained there are no allowable refunds for residents of NY. Our Customer Service department requested documentation from you to request an exception and provide you with a refund if possible. Our Customer Service department will follow up to handle your exception request via email as soon as possible.
