"Wow, what an experience. I wanted to find a company that I could use to generate leads for my solar company. After speaking with a sales rep from Home Adviser I thought that they might be able to help me. BOY, was I wrong! The sales rep made it sound so good but as I think back about his conversation I now realize that these people are experts at telling you what you want to hear. NOT the truth but what will get you to fork over a credit card! BEWARE! Once they get your credit card the only way to stop them from charging it is to cancel that card and get a new number AND tell the bank you don't want any Home Adviser charges put on it. I was lucky enough to fight all the charges they put on my card and have them reversed. Once you do that they will send your information to a collection agency. The good news is that Federal Law provides that once you dispute a bill the collection agency can no longer pursue you. If they do, and some will try, you can sue them for harassment. Read the Federal consumer credit act for more information and stay away from Home Adviser. They are terrible. I am actually following up with a letter to the state attorney generals office regarding my experience with them and their lies. They are bad news!"
"This service is a scam... they lied during signup and I got charged over $500 in leads that I didn't want. And they do not offer ANY refunds... only internal credits for future jobs.
Just cancelled my service after only 28 days... and it took over 45 minutes to cancel through 3 people trying to keep me there. I even need to change my credit card in order to stop the charges from recurring.
SCAM SCAM SCAM"
"I called Home Advisor a week ago and they finally got back to me literally a week later and this was about and heat issue on the East Coast it is shocking use a local company that's what I would advise"
"Had a plumbing back up in my renters apartment, got on line on a Saturday and Homeadviser found a plumber. He did work that was not necessary to up the bill. The Bottom line is he charged $700 to unclog the drain. Never again!

"The installation of the irrigation system by Dennis Yates went quite well except it was not completed. He said he would come back in September to finish the insulation on the PVB and explain how to winterize the system. I sent several emails and made several calls with no reply. I would not contact him again."
"Bad experience and co is not not honest "
"Do not hire Disaster Plus"
"They threatened us. The police are involved."
"We have used Homeadvisor for 4 years now and spent over $50k with them. We used to get some good leads in, so we took the bad with the good. We are a demolition and mitigation company in Texas. They don't really seem to care about working with you, or improving their system. For instance, whether we are getting a full house demo, or a 6'x10' brick wall, we get charged $90. Also, we get denied credit on so many leads that are obviously wrong.
1. Someone asked to have a home tested for radon, but they meant a natural gas leak. Obvious credit denied.
2. Someone asked for a radon mitigation in Tennessee! We are in Texas and they denied credit.
3. The same company has sent multiple leads that have cost us $90 every time and it's an obvious competitor, but they deny credit every time.
4. Multiple times where people who don't own the property, are asking just to see - credit denied every time.
This is just the most recent credit denials. The fact that they denied a credit for a job across the country, lead me to send this review.
When we originally started with them, we were getting solid, valid leads. I would think the longer you are with a company, the better they would treat you, but it seems the opposite with Homeadvisor.
What's more upsetting, we are a reputable company, that gives fair pricing and does a good job, but Homeadvisor let's basically anyone come on as a "Pro". "
"I am a new small business owner and i was referred to them. Being a new customer i feel as though they took advantage of me , billed me for leads i never accepted or contacted, in the end i terminated my membership and they said i still owed the $600+ dollars after i refused to pay them they sent my account to collections. I cannot believe it! I had to pay it in the end of course they are SCAMMERS!!! BEWARE. "
"Winston, Oregon. Referred a "construction" specialist to me who was an absolute failure. Tried to leave me hanging halfway through the job !! Hardly knowledgeable and pretty lame dude shows up with no tools...WTF ???"
"Marijuana consumption is rampant in this company. HomeAdvisor is a company of very despicable and shady people."
"Beware of signing up for HomeAdvisor! They con you into signing up by making you believe it is a great way to advertise your business and find jobs. Truth is they just want your money. They send you leads and charge you outrageous amounts for very small jobs that aren’t even a guarantee. Especially not good for small businesses! Or for any business of that matter!"
"HomeAdvisor rep called my business line relentlessly for a couple months pretending to be a customer. Calls came in from them from several states. I finally gave in when they told me there was no recurring charges just $300 pr yr and I would get advertising on their site for that amount. I charged the $300 to a card and overnight they charged an additional $280 for “leads”. I canceled appointments the next day to get online and stop this craziness- lost work!! I canceled everything online. When the retention specialist called me back she said I was set up wrong and that she would walk me through how to set up my business profile ant credited me back the $280 they took. She said she would call me the next day- 2 weeks later my “lead pause” ran out and there was no contact from anyone. I canceled again. THEN I got a call back with more promises. I told them that they were nothing but scammers and that I try to keep costs down for my customers in rural America and they had done nothing but cost me money. I told them that THEY are what’s wrong with this world today and that I choose only honest people to do business with. $300 is a lot of money to me and it was an expensive lesson to learn but DO NOT DO BUSINESS with these people! They will rip you off, clog up your business line, reach into your pocket, and cost you time that you could be working/getting jobs. Keith - K.D. Construction/Excavation. "
"Don't believe anything these scammers tell you. Everything that Adam Burckhard says is a lie. He lies straight to your face. The guy will steal, lie, cheat, anything for a buck. He only wants to scam you and get his commission. That is all he cares about."
