"We desperately needed new interior stairs and found Mike's company through Home Advisor, Mike came out and gave us a quote for the work which was on line with what we had researched. He was very professional and personable, and we came to an agreement. Mike is so much in demand we actually had to wait a couple of months before he could begin the job. He and his worker Joe arrived around 7am and worked tirelessly to remove the old stairs and have new stairs in place in one day. As an invalid who is confined to my bedroom, this was very important to us. They returned the following day to finish the job and a few other smaller jobs we needed done. I was very comfortable having Mike and his guys working unsupervised in my home. My husband and I are very happy with the quality of the work, their excellent work ethic and communication. They did everything they said they would; removed all debris and left the work area clean.

"We were scammed out of several thousands by Royals Landscaping and Lawn Service who contacted us through Home Advisor for a landscaping project at our home. We paid for work that was never done, the contractor never came back, promised to return our deposit , but always had an excuse and were never seen again. HomeAdvisor claims to do background checks on the owners of the companies they represent. This is not true. Using a 3rd party source I was able to find out that the owner had beed arrested and had numerous other violations against him
When I contacted HomeAdvisor Customer Solutions I was told that HomeAdvisors did not give our phone or contact information to Royals, but had given it to a company named Alvarado Landscaping. This seems ironic to me as another customer of Royals Landscaping and Lawn Service had the same kind of experience with the same owner but they called themselves Alvarado Landscaping. HomeAdvisor does not do a thorough check of their clientele or they would have discovered the conflict. This other customer also wrote a negative review and they too were scammed out of their money by the same people.
HomeAdvisor's advice was to contact the BBB and the Attorney General's Office, which we did. However, I believe that there needs to be a class action lawsuit against HomeAdvisor as I am reading dozens of similar incidents from homeowners around the country. This kind of fraud needs to stop and HomeAdvisor needs to be more proactive in properly vetting its contractors. "
"They stole $800 from me. I had zero return on my money. I can sell, but not if the customers aren't real or don't want you calling. And every phone number was a dead end. This is a scam service that relys on large numbers of new customers. They lie to you in the sales pitches about how they have changed and screen call the clients. They don't. They even charged me after I had cancelled my subscription. "

"I booked an appointment through HomeAdvisor. The appointment was for lawn care at 9:00 am, which was confirmed by both email and text. By 10:00 am the vendor had not bothered to show up or call. I called the "Help" line and their response was "Oh well, I guess you can right a bad review." No assistance, no troubleshooting no accountability. It was my first and last experience with this company. Never again."
"I wrote a rather large and detailed review of Taylor Construction of Virginia RVA area. I provided Taylor Construction police reports and documentation substantiating my claims. Taylor Construction lies to HomeAdvisor to dispute my review. HomeAdvisor contact me and I provide them the same police report, the same email correspondence substantiating my claims, and they say they'll get back with me. Here I am a month later checking to see the status of my review and it's no longer present for this company. They not only ignored the facts from my review but deleted the review based on the vendors information. HomeAdvisor appears fraudulent an unwilling to follow through on actions and information. HomeAdvisor, please contact me if you feel this is incorrect. My phone record all telephone calls and I can provide you with the information from your employees. Perhaps you can be honest for a change."
"I used home advisor for someone to paint the porch railing and he stated he was charging me the $98 home advisor charged him to come and paint the house. I put in the comment section it was for rails not the house. I’ll never use it again"
"I filled in the information section to receive contractor information and read reviews . Once the information was completed . I began to receive call from Air conditioning companies I was not familiar with and could find little information on. I made a list of the companies that called and took their information. I checked for reviews and found only a few for the three I retain information on . About 3 to 4.5 star ratings. I called back the two with the best ratings. When I called back one repair man was able to come rite over. And looked at both units inside and out with only a flash light and told me the compressor on the outside was worn out and both units would have to be replaced .Since the system was only 3 years old I asked if he could just replace the compressor. He told me the was out dated because of a change in the freon type .He gave me a price of $4329 to replace the system i told him I would call back . The second company called and sent a sales man over . He took off the inside units panel looked around and told me , he couldn't repair it because it would catch fire. I had enough I called some friends and got a hold of Mike from Air advice and he came over looked at both units told me it was a capacitor , he had it in his van installed it and charged me $128
He said it was probably a power serge that caused it and was common. This is the second time I had a problem with Homeadviser or Angies list who ever the hell they are. No more question ares I ll decide who I call . I was looking for a site to lodge my complaint because Homeadviser would do nothing because I didnt hire them although they tried to steal from me. And found out that Homeadviser owns and manages its own rating site. A **** off , Raul Martinez

"Excellent. I called Home Advisor stated that I needed an electric outlet replaced. I was called by several electrical companies. I decided to go with Mach One Construction Corp. The electrician gave me a fair price.
The electrician kept in touch with me and let me know exactly when he could replace my outlet.
I give James Anlanime 5 stars for his work and professionalism."
