"As a new small business owner ,I figure it would give them a try.Pad them all most 400.00 up front for the year.Thay started sending me leads at around 48.00 each and 1/2 the people never call me back,one lead said he was buying a house and closing on 7/15/17 and wanted 700 square feet of laminate flooring done and told me the rooms, but we could not come down and do a estimate because we could not get in the house since he did not own it yet and he would call me back after closing. So I look up the address and the house was not in contract and the rooms he said had carpet did not thay had wood floors in the picture's.so after 6 leads thay sent me ,only one I went to do a estimate. And nothing come of it.I keep turning my leads off but as soon as the 2 days is up a new lead pop's up how convenient and another 48.00 charge. I put in for refunds telling them my leads are off ,but thay say since you had such a high amount of refunds it needs to be authorized.do not us them thay are a scam. And are nothing but a bunch of bull s***."

"I USED to like HomeAdvisor ALOT. I used to refer my family/friends/business acquaintances BUT not anymore.The contractor Home Advisor suggested is aweful and so is the customer service of homeadvisor, they are posting erroneous info about the contractor to make them sound better than they really are. The contractors are rude on the phone and even hang up, when I tried to call Home Advisor, the rep without warning put me on hold while I was in mid sentence, after waiting on a long hold their phone started ringing like I was transferred. It rang fifty (50) times before a rep answered then was very defensive, unsympathetic and no help at all."

"I started a small company with some friends, it was nothing serious--just a side gig. So we finally got serious about it and wanted to grow our customer base/business. Out of no where Home Advisor contacted me. I went for it, didn't know it was $300 for the yearly membership. On top of that they charge you $12-18 fees per client transaction. Well, BE CAREFUL what you do on their mobile app because they monitor everything!! I've been charge their membership (this is fine). THEN I'm getting monthly charges when I'm not using it! I have to talk to 3 different people on the phone, re-explain everything, then they say they don't give refunds--only credit to your account. What does that mean? So for fuure transactions I can use that money that was charged for and shouldn't have been charged in the first place? Very sneaky...I wish I never signed up. "

"We worked for home advisor for about 8 months. After numerous jobs for them and a ton of positive reviews we had a mishap with a customer. They wanted to drop us for the misunderstandings and wanted us to redo a very costly job after going way above and beyond. They also charged our company credit card for about $1,000 in leads after we asked them not to and when we asked them about it said," sorry there's no refunds and nothing we can do."
........Bottom line....terrible company to work for all they care about is making money off of their leads."

"The lists that are generated are often wrong. They do not indicate that none of the contractors may provide services in the needed geographic area. The people at Home Advisor don't care if customers are misled. Calling their customer service number will not help.
Using their site is a colossal waste of time. "

"These guys are setup to scam you. As a Pro, I found the leads to SUCKED BIG-TIME. maybe 1 out of 6 would respond to my call-back. After calling my Rep to stop my leads for a long vacation, they were turned back on after 2 weeks. I wasn't back yet. I've asked to have the 3 leads credited, but they denied that request.
So then when I got on the phone to cancel, they said they'd give credit, but that they WON'T credit back my card, just my HA acct, AND told me that if I tried to dispute with the credit card company, they would report the negative balance to my credit report. F__kers!
These guys steal from you and won't give it back even when forced by Visa, they'll screw your credit up.
I hope this saves at least 1 person the wasted time of Home Advisor. NEVER AGAIN.
