"I needed a lot of things done in the house and don't know where to begin. happened, I saw HomeAdvisor on TV, so I contact them.
The first project was trim my fruit trees in my back yard, they did okay but the worker lost the check I paid. The end I have to go to the bank to cancel the check and pay him again.
The 2nd project was having my roof complete redone, it was a big job. The HomeAdvisor gave me 5 roofing companies. I called all 5 and 3 responded. I chose one and liked the job they did. I was very happy about it.
I recently just finished the 3rd project and was ready to receive the reward that HomeAdvisor has promised me, but they denied that I have done 3 projects. The HomeAdvisor told me that they never gave me Astro roofing company's name, so I need to have another project done in order to collect the $50 dollars reward. If they didn't tell me I can earn the reward, I will never expect the $50 dollars reward anyway. I called the HomeAdvisord , the woman just kept denied that they never recommended that roofing company."

"Had been searching for a masonry contractor, and grew tired of their failure to show up for scheduled appointments. Saw HomeAdvisor's commercial on TV advertising Trusted Home Improvement Pros and decided to give them a try. Was contacted almost immediately by a masonry contractor who made an appointment to show up at my home at 6:30 p.m. the following evening (Wednesday). I verified with him by text that day that 6:30 pm was "not too Late", and he confirmed that it was not. By 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, he had not shown up, nor had he called. I had texted him at 6:45 pm to ask if he was on his way, but he did not respond. At approximately 7:45 p.m. he responded to my text claiming that "our appointment was actually for Friday morning". When I confronted him on that statement and asked why I would ask if 6:30 was too late if he was coming at 9:00 a.m., he then claimed that he had 5 kids and was at actually at their baseball playoffs. I reminded him that he kept me waiting, stood me up, and now tried to pretend that I had gotten it wrong!!! I told him he should have manned up and called and rescheduled. Would you trust a guy like that to repair your home? Lying is obviously second nature. If this is the type of service that HomeAdvisor is advertising as professional and reliable, then they need to check their facts or cancel their ads!! "

"got a name via the Nextdoor Neighbor site in Altamonte Springs, Fl for an electrician. Responder named Richard from Ramtech
called and made an appointment for a Wednesday of the following week for 8:30 to 9 in the morning. I arranged my schedule to be home and waited and waited and waited. No show no call and here we are over a week later and still no contact from this man. All the reviews I saw were very favorable which made my decision easy to make my appointment with him. Don't know what kind of jobs he did for these people but for me to give a review the bloke has to show up and do the work.....no recomendation for him or Home Advisors either if this is the type of people doing work for you."

"Payed the mammal membership and then received $1400 in fees the first 45 days. All leads were worthless. When I tried to talk to a rep I kept getting handed over to another rep. Got no where. I canceled membership and cut my losses. They are more concerned about getting those lead fees and not much more."

i got 3 leads all 3 leads were useless, they didnt even answered, called back or reply to your messages. so they charged me for those leads. I called next day to one of the leads and they did answered and told me that they not looking for service they just buying leads (???) so i found out this was not going to be a good fit so, i tried to cancel my account and it took few nerves to do so, but before that i fought over dead leads charge they made, and yes, they did refund me for those dead leads, and I was able to canceled my account but, they refused to refund money that i paid for a year membership as "my advertisement and website was alive and my information was exposed to other companies on their website and to a potential leads". I learned my lesson hard way, and I would say it was a very expensive mistake" And they saying its tax deductible charge, but when they charged me, I didn't received any Invoice or any receipt :/"

"website misleads, in order to get information about your project you have to put all your information first and then after that home advisor sends a lead to 3 or more providers, when we (providers) call customers, the customers are surprise and not happy that home advisor sent they're information without consent.
Not only that but customers always get more than 3 call when home advisor swears that the lead was sent to only 3 providers, on top of that more than half of the leads have wrong information because home advisor doesn't check it before sending it to providers, so now we have to submit this lead back to home advisor and only few will be credit because home advisor calls customers and wait for only a few rings on the phone and if they don't answer they don't credit the lead.
We been with home advisor for over 4 years now and they increase the price per lead by $5 (more than 40%) without even notified us."

"Last year we had a decent experience. However, over the last 8 months this place has fallen apart. 90% of the leads are rehashed or bogus. They deny any credit request. That have bilked us for over 10k. Shame on us for being the **** of the joke this long. We were just hoping that the light would come on again. We have had 8 customers try to leave us positive reviews. The review link is more complicated than Father's Day in east St. Louis. When they try to call the review team they always get a answering machine! Red flag! So we have had 8 happy 5 star customers that are so annoyed with our lead partners lack of interest in their opinion that they won't even return our calls now. I don't blame them. These people are running a money laundering scam. I have never ever heard of a company that forces payment on a service that is not being provided. I would not be surprised if the folks behind the curtain trip old ladies and foreclose on orphanages in their spare time. Ruthless business model. Im wondering if someone should perform a drive by of their so called home office. I know that they are not putting the money that they steal back into the company for reform and growth. Hell, the office is probably a bunch of termites holding hands.. I'm out!"

"I will never work with the company again! I should've listened to my intuition instead of giving them a second chance. Initially, I had a horrible experience with a sales person. I tried to contact the upper management, but never received a response. A few months later, I received a second call (from a sales person) who told me the previous sales guy wasn't there and apologized for his behavior. I decided to give HA another try, but soon learned everything the sales person told me were lies. I was charged a ridiculous amount for leads that never picked up the phone or followed through. There were also times when I was charged for leads when my leads were supposed to be paused. Additionally, I had to call three and four times to get issues resolved.

Lastly, I had a customer who was clearly mentally ill give me a false review, and although I provided proof that contradicted her statements (not to mention they found proof that contradicted her statements) the review remained, although I was told they would remove it.

I feel HA cares about nothing but their bottom line. I was lied to and given shoddy customer service the entire time I was with them.

I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. Nobody deserves such terrible service. Subscribe at your own risk."

"THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTED. Home advisor sends each lead to three contractors and charges each one approximately $15 (sometimes more) to possibly get the job. Those three contractors then compete for the job and, even though at least two of them will not get the job, they will all get charged. Homeadvisor frequently sends leads during the times you're not available (including in the middle of the night). If you don't respond to the lead right away, you don't get the job. If the person who you are contacting answers the phone (even if just to tell you they've already hired someone else before they even spoke to you), you can't get your money back. And they often send you leads for jobs you can't even do. "

"Just went on site ,no sign up to look for local exterminators , removed my phone # only xxxx & requested Email only yet by 657am my home phone was ringing ! Truly felt for the callers they thought it was a true request & claimed it happens all the time .honestly Too Agressive & bad light for contractors . Shame could be a better service. "
