The shipping company made a mistake and the order was on a truck for shipping to Homelement, NJ instead of my place but I noticed the error on the shipping company's website and Homelement customer service helped me get that fixed. The agent I spoke to was courteous and made sure the furniture was removed from the truck destined to the other coast. I would use Homelement for ordering furniture in the future especially for the no tax, free shipping benefit."

"Easy to deal with, items shipped quickly and were easy to track. Packages arrived with typical shipping dents, etc. (nothing to note concern) Unfortunately, when we opened the items, 3 of the first 3 were damaged. We had two boxes that were okay. A mirror was broken, a dresser had a dent in the front top and leg and the bed rail was bent and paint scraped off of the bed. I have notified customer service and will update you as to how they respond. Currently I am going to rate them with one star as so many of our items were damaged. I do understand that sometimes things happen in shipping and they are out of the control of Homelement... so, if they resolve them I will be back with an update and upgrade their rating accordingly. They have a reputation of having great customer service so I am hopeful that I will be back with a 5 star rating.
Update #1 A Representative from Homelement called today and explained the steps to take when damaged items are received... which is to submit photographs of boxes and damage. I did take pictures (as recommended by them when I ordered) and will email them right away. So far so good!
Update #2 The furniture company is shipping replacement parts and items for the damaged pieces. They requested that I donate the damaged items to a charity of my choice and in their name. Bravo! What a kind gesture as the damage was minimal and the items still usable. It also saves me the headache of packing up and return shipping furniture. The Representative from Homelement handled the entire issue quite quickly - bummer that the furniture was damaged -but their customer service is outstanding thus far! When the pieces come in new, I will update their review. Currently, I am very impressed... but, the new items aren't here yet so I am maintaining current review status. "

"So far I have to say that I am not impressed. Placed an order for a sofa sectional 3 weeks ago, got word from the delivery company that it was damaged so bad that it can't be delivered. After several telephone calls with the company, they cannot tell me when a new one will be delivered. It's considered a claim even though I've never seen it. I've been told that I should expect an email from customer service but nothing and it's been over a week. Just not impressed with their responsivness."

"Overall good shopping experience, I liked the fact that they had a huge selection and I could furniture shop from the comfort of home rather than ruin my feet and have to settle for what was in my area stores. I did find the wait between order time and delivery a bit too long for my taste but the delivery went smoothly once it finally came. The wait time was 5 + weeks from order date to delivery day. The estimated shipping date passed and homelement did not update me with any new information so that was a bit perplexing also. A few days after the estimated shipping date had passed I e-mailed customer service and got no reply.
