Based on some horrendous recent experiences with Dell (I've been responsible for 100s of PCs purchased from them for 10 years), I decided to build my own and wanted advice and some hand holding.

KC is not the slickest company (no fancy ecommerce on their site), but you get real people behind the operation, and something that's missing from ecommerce, respect for the customer.

If you want a great, custom-built system at a very resonable price, look no further than Kevin at KC-Computers. I've used him a couple of times and recommended friends too.
A friend had some motherboard problem (hey, it happens!), Kevin built and mailed another identical system at the same time she packed up the original system.
Upgraded my monitor (from regular CRT to flat CRT) when he was out-of-stock on original model.
He's also very knowledgeable on upgrades and drivers. His deep product knowledge allows him to make excellent product/component recommendations. Systems arrive tested, nicely assembled and in good condition using quality (but generic and easily upgradable!) components.

"KC Computers was recommended to me by a friend that had been using them for years. My previous system was an Alienware, and I was never impressed with the machine nor the customer service; the price did not seem justified.

This time around, I also considered Dell or Gateway. I am so pleased I went with KC Computers, and will order from then again (not only my next system, but upgrades for this current one). What sold me was the price, the recommendations, and the fact that I could get specific hardware and Kevin would put it all together. Mostly what sold me is Kevin's customer service.

He responded quickly, politely and intelligently to my emails. If I had any concerns, eh addressed them. After I had the PC, I had some driver issues with a game I like to play. This had nothing to do with their system, yet Kevin took the time to help me troubleshoot it (see if anyone else will do that for you!), and then he followed up a few weeks later to make sure all was running well.
