"Seemless experience great customer service."
"I rented a textbook from knetbooks for the fall 2019 semester. The rental seemed like a good deal but I learned they get more than their fair share before the deal is done. The rental period ended on the last day of finals, still needed the book. Called knetbooks and asked if there were any options other than paying new price for the book I had already rented for $63+ I was told I could get a 50% refund of the full purchase price if I returned it. I learned the same textbook would be used the next semester. I asked if I could rent the book for another semester and was told no. I asked if I could get my original rental fee back if I bought the book, no. Knetbooks customer service couldn't careless and their rules assure the good deal one initially thought they were getting was anything but. Stay away!!"
"I have not gotten notice my book was returned. I know I shipped it back. "

"I ordered a book back in August for a class and after a week of having it I sent it back for a refund due to my class being cancelled. My work sent it out via USPS which was not using Knetbooks "prepaid" shipping label. (Knet deducts money from the amount you are being refunded to pay for the shipping so basically you are paying for it on your own). I finally wrote them once I realized I had not been refunded (3 months later) and my account showed I still had the book, which I didn't. According to Knet the wrong zip code was put and they are showing the textbook was never received at their warehouse. They then told me that because it was delivered but had the wrong zip code I needed to contact USPS to see where the package was. After submitting a report about the missing item, USPS's supervisor replied and told me "Our records show that the package was delivered as expected. The correct zip code was supplied for this address as we holdout deliveries for this company until the end of the day." He then proceeded to tell me if I suspected theft to file a police report. Basically, regardless of the wrong zip being put it was still delivered to the correct place. I told Knet customer service this and the lady told me that due to me breaking their rental agreement and them never receiving it, I will not be receiving a refund and I either have to replace the textbook or pay full listing price for it. I actually ended up renting another copy of the book because my college screwed up and accidentally cancelled the class and then re-enrolled me. It then took me over a month and a half to receive the textbook and by then we had already taken the first big exam. So on top of paying $32 for the first copy and $54 for the second, they now want me to pay $118 to replace the textbook that was "lost". I do not suggest renting from them at all."

"Got a great book, perfect condition like brand new. "
"I didn’t appreciate that only days after I got my textbook delivered that I received an email to rate my experience.
How about approaching the return date of my rented textbook towards the end of the semester, I receive a reminder email to make sure to return the textbook, and once I’ve experienced this rental period, THEN I get a request to rate my experience?
Right now I am only giving three stars mainly because I’m annoyed at this request to rate before I even got a chance to experience.
If I indeed got a reminder email to return the rented textbook at the most opportune time (after having just gone through final exams there is a high chance I might indeed forget), then I can see myself inclined to give any experience a 5-star rating.
I don’t mean no personal offense. I hope my suggestions help improve future customer experiences. "
“Hi Kylekim! Thank you for your response and your suggestions. We will be sending several rental reminders leading up to the return date for your rental via email. I will also pass your suggestions on to our marking team. Thank you for choosing Knetbooks. -Kate”
"I’ve received an email about getting my textbook the same week, wrongfully I was given the date. Finally, after a couple weeks, I received the book. As long as I got it before my first exam I was thankful. "

A rep from Knetbooks.com, Kate - Customer Service, has responded:
“Hi Lance! I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. Our policy for rental items is that they must be in transit on or before the due date using the prepaid label we provided. As your item was not in transit in this time frame and we received no prior request for an extension, your account was charged for the non-return fee of the purchase price for the item. Per policy, so long as you can return the item to us within 14 days of the original due date, you are eligible to receive 75% of this charge back to your account. If you would like to keep the rental and use it for the next semester you are able to do so, since you have paid for the rental. If you need any further assistance please let us know. Thank you -Kate”
