"I can't remember how I came across LightInTheBox but it was before Christmas and I thought it would be a great site to order presents... trendy and different for non-expensive prices especially for my teenage son. My main concern at that time was to get him clothes. The packages were divided and everything came in a very quick timely fashion except for one package which was delivered after Christmas. LightinTheBox was great with that issue with the fact that they gave a discount for the package being late. However, after opening several packages on Christmas Eve, the discovery of the cheap quality of fabric was used for the majority of the clothes in which my son did not like the feeling of it. I was in agreement with him as well. I sent a message to customer support at LightInTheBox to discuss exchanging the items. They have time frame policies in which I was going back and forth on how it wasn't fair because they were Christmas presents. I had to order them early enough to be delivered on time. They also have a time frame to send them back which was finally settled because they made an exception due to the holiday which was awesome. However, it really took a lot of effort of persuasion! Then, when I tried to go on the site to exchange the items for something else or a different size it seemed like everything I did was not accepted and what was accepted I could not find, like product numbers and other information that I couldn't even find. When I contacted customer service, all I would get was copy and paste answers from many different people including supervisors from the website in which I could see for myself. This lasted for 2 months just to end up super frustrated, angry, and mentally exhausted with a headache. I felt like I was being passed around and was not getting the help I needed to get the process done and over with. They also wanted the original plastic bags the items came in in order to be accepted for the exchange. However once again, going back and forth trying to explain the plastic bags were thrown away with all the other Christmas wrappings, it was questionable that the exchange would accepted or they wanted even more information that I could not find and get help with. Finally, I was at my wit's end and wrote everything down on a couple pieces of paper and just mailed the package and followed the directions they have when mailing the items. In one part of the site it states that because they don't have a return label, they will reimburse 50% of the mailing cost in which I paid $100 for. Later on, come to find out, there are only certain circumstances that they refund and I did not qualify. So that was kind of misleading because a different page states what does not qualify when it should all be on the same page in my opinion. Again, I contacted a supervisor who could have been different or the same person I don't know and told them that I had enough and just went ahead and shipped it with everything written on paper. This person asked me if I had made a copy of the paper in which I didn't think of doing and so, because I didn't have a copy, the warehouse would not accept all of that information that I had written down and it infuriated me because I had to start over again! I'm sorry this review is so long but this process went on for 2 months if you can believe that! I then got a supervisor, again unknown, who finally accepted my exchange order and assured me that I would get everything that I ordered after the inspection of the items. To me that really wasn't too reassuring because she said they had to be inspected first . To this day the package is still in customs in Shanghai when I mailed it I believe in February! To finalize this long review, I finally came into contact with a supervisor named May who has been such a blessing and has taken a huge weight of frustration off of my shoulders! It was like she could completely relate to my emotional distress with what should be such a simple process just to exchange six items. She has kept in contact with me regularly with updates and has completely taken care of everything for me! She is such an asset to this company in which I swore I was not going to have anything to do with again! Because of her, I have actually done a couple of more orders even though I swore I was not going to give this company anymore of my money! I literally spent hours upon days that turned into two months of headaches just for six items! I cannot thank her enough for her time, concern, and care that she has given me! This is the reason I give the company three stars just because of all the hassle and I would have only given them zero Stars to begin with but because of May, the company got three stars but she should get 10 Stars in my book! Again, thank you a million May!
