Worst customer experience ever!

"Never in my life been lied to, ignored, then lied to some more, by any other business! Bought a dishwasher, it failed during install, and the way they handled the event was horrible to say the least.
This is specific to the store on 610 N. Loop in Houston. Had to go to another store to get a working dishwasher. The original store told me it would take 10-15 days to get a replacement; the other store delivered the next day... from the same warehouse! I called, was put on hold (I gave up after 30 minutes), if I got to talk to somebody they promised a manager would call me back within 30 minutes; it never happened. Still haven't received my refund.

Worest online shopping experience ever!

"I ordered a snow blower on lowes.ca and the snow blower showed as being in stock and available. After I had paid $1000 for the snow blower and received an order confirmation email, Lowe's cancelled my order without my permission. I will do my best to avoid Lowe's at all in the future -- not so much because they didn't have the item I wanted (a 243cc 26-in Two-Stage Gas Snow Blower), but because they tried to get me to accept a less product (a 208cc 24-in Two-Stage Gas Snow Blower) at the same price as a replacement.

Update:
I was very upset about my online shopping experience at Lowe's so I posted the above review on their website yesterday. Today they deleted my review from their website and sent me an email explained "Our staff has reviewed your review and unfortunately, it did not meet all our website guidelines. Your input is valuable so please modify your question and re-submit. " Apparently Lowe's is capable of cancelling customer orders without their permission and deleted their negative comments. Just unbelievable.

Bad Customer Service

"I went to the Lowe's in New Albany, MS on three occasions asking about a refrigerator they had for sale. I asked how long the price was good for and they told me for a few more weeks. I purchased the refrigerator and while they were writing it up, my wife found a price tag which showed it at a different price. After talking to the sales person a while, he called the manager who told me it would cost me an additional $1500. The manager looked at the ceiling while I was explaining what happened. To shorten the story, I wrote Lowe's home office and they would do nothing. The manager never apologized or claimed responsibility for the mistake. Lowe's would not let me have the refrigerator at the $2098 price which was advertised. Basically, they just told me to go away that they were not going to do anything. If my wife had not found the missing price tag, they would have sold it for the price shown. Neither the store nor the home office admitted the store had done anything wrong by putting the incorrect price tag over the appliance. On three separate occasions I was told the price of the refrigerator was $2098 I have bought all of my appliances from Lowe's and always bought the warranty plan. However, after this experience I have made it a point to never go into another Lowe's and tell everyone who is interested in buying appliances to go either to Home Depot or Sears because Lowe's has the WORST customer service of any retailer I have visited. Then I tell them the entire story of what happened to me and on several occasions it has influenced them to buy elsewhere. And I tell everyone who reads this post, do yourself a favor and before you buy an appliance, go to Home Depot or Sears where they DO believe the customer is important and DON'T BUY AT LOWE'S!!!"

Sloppy customer service at store and online. They don't care, but customers should!

"Lowe's is often compared to Home Depot. My impression is that there isn't much difference between the two, other than that Lowe's generally has higher prices. They both share bad customer service, and virtually useless online shopping. I quit shopping at Home Depot when Lowe's came to town, based on some friends poor judgement and evaluation process. I now have drawn my own conclusions due to ongoing bad experiences with Lowe's service. I've concluded that there is nobody in charge there! Employees feel free to say anything they think is necessary to get away from doing any work. When you leave email for Lowe's Corporate, you get nothing back in return. When you ask a CS person for information, they promise they will, then immediately dismiss you...never to make contact again.

As far as I'm concerned there are no good big-box building supply options, so I'm shopping local small stores and Amazon from here on in. I'm quite sure that Lowe's and Home Depot will never miss me, and they absolutely could not care less.

Poor Customer Service

"Let me relate a recent experience with LOWES’ Home Improvement, from which others may learn. I have a small project I am trying to complete, and need to obtain some materials. I attempted comparison-shopping to source the needed materials. The Home Depot web portal was user unfriendly, so I opted for the user friendly LOWES' site, though was unable to find the quantities of the materials I needed at my local store (perhaps that should have been my first hint to abandon LOWES). I then called 1-***-***-**** for help, and explained my situation, and the Customer Service Agent was kind enough to find the quantities in stock at another store, and create an order (324928727) for the materials. This all occurred on July 9, 2016. Unfortunately, the quantities in stock were in the LOWES' of Smithfield, and I requested home delivery (Lake Royale). The distance between the two exceeds the delivery area for home delivery.
Of course, Lake Royale is outside of Smithfield's delivery area, so I then received a call from a LOWES' of Smithfield cashier relaying a message from the delivery manager that the order was being canceled. I asked why the order could not be transferred to a local store (store-to-store transfer), and was informed that the cashier was just relaying a message. So, I could not argue the point and pursued by calling again to the 1-***-***-****. After explaining the circumstances, I was assured the order was not cancelled, and that LOWES would facilitate having the order fulfilled by a local LOWES Home Improvement. I received a call (I have a VM from Terry @ LOWES Customer Care stating the order was transferred to the Wake Forrest location and Eddie would handle the process). This was the culmination of more than six phone calls just for one ‘simple’ order. To this day, that order can still be called up on the LOWES portal. But wait, there is more.
After diligently checking the status on line (IN PROCESS - View Delivery Details), I called the Wake Forest LOWES today (July 23) to obtain an update on the order. After receiving quizzical responses on the phone, I was told that Eddie was off today, but they would call him and obtain an update on the processing of the order. Two hours later, I received a call from Parka at the LOWES corporate office stating that the original order had been cancelled, funds credited back to my account, and the process needed to start over again, but it will now not be until another two weeks (August 9) that everything can be available for delivery.
So, I started out with an order on July 9 (324928727), I had to post-pone my small project until July 23 for materials, and now due to the failure of a supposedly reliable supplier, will have to source and continue delays on this simple project. Needless to say, I have no intention of ever stepping inside a LOWES' Home Improvement store again. Their incompetence and customer dis-Service knows no bounds. Managers who care little or nothing for making the process work are truly exemplified at LOWES.
Lesson learned:
1. Using a web portal is great, but sometimes nothing beats brick and mortar for that face-to-face experience.
2. Low prices may be part of their brand, but that should warn the consumer on the lack of Customer Care.

Frustated Customer! Will never return to Lowes (Guntersville, AL)

"I can NEVER get a single employee's assistance when I walk into Lowes. What happened to always being of assistance to customers? It takes me thirty minutes to hunt down an employee so I can get assistance. And then most the people working there don't know what they are doing. Lowes hires people who do not know a thing about hardware it seems. Not only that, but the employees are extremely rude! One time when I was making a payment on my washing machine, the employee took forever to assist me. I understand sometimes they are busy or are assisting others but this woman was just standing there talking to a co-worker! Then, after she was done with her conversation, she went to assist someone else even though I had been there first. Thankfully, the other customer was well mannered and pointed out to the employee that I had been there first and to assist me. This other time I purchased a refrigerator from Lowes and had it delivered to my home. Not only were they not on time, they were very rude. The men were getting frustrated because they were having trouble assembling the refrigerator. They even angrily mentioned to me how they were getting off schedule because of me. As if it were my fault they couldn't do their job? Maybe Lowes shouldn't hire people who have no experience and have no clue what they're doing! I will NOT visit Lowes again."

internet delivery lies

"i ordered 2 "in stock" faucets, 2 day guaranteed delivery.. 3 days later i was told there would be a slight delay. on the 4th day, lowes sent an email stating that my order was shipped, expecting delivery in 48 hours.. 3 days after that, another email stating "sorry" but order was shipped "today" with 48 hour delivery.. I sit here 13 days later, $406.00 out of my account, and i was told that the unit were back ordered and i should expect delivery in 2-3 weeks.. no compensation, no guarantees as to actual delivery date ans zero help... go to home depot or amazon for real service, no lies and better products.. this is typical lowes"

Lowe's wasted two hours of my time.

"My partner and I went to the Lowe's in mansfield and placed a good sized order that we needed to have delivered, as we are building a deck. When they pulled the order, there were some brackets that they couldn't find, so they didn't get delivered with the rest of the order. The day after the order was delivered I went back up to the store, found them right away, and proceeded to customer service with them. I did not have the receipt with me, only the card which is in my partner's name. I explained the situation and asked if they could find the receipt via the card. She took it and asked for the phone number. I gave my partner's number and she found it without ever even needing to use the card. We confirmed the purchase, but she forgot to return the card. I realized this after I was home and placed a call back to the store. They found the card after I called, but were hesitant about my coming to pick it up, even though I was the one who told them where it was, because the card is in my partner's name. So I put my partner on the phone with the store and she spoke to two people and finally after all names were given, it was agreed that I could return to pick it up, as my partner had another errand to run in the opposite direction. Upon arriving, I spoke to customer service, who paged the manager, Cody Pace, who refused to return the card to me, as my name is not on the card. So, this Lowe's store wasted 2 hours of my building time trying to fix their initial mistake and just had more of their mistakes piled on. "

awful business and service

"We had decided to gut our kitchen and buy our cabinets, appliances and countertop at Lowes. We had meeting after meeting with details, purchase and overlook at design and signatures. We had bought everything in FEB 2016. Our appliances came 5 days after purchase because they were not able to hold them until our cabinets were installed ( completely understand)..when our cabinets came with lots of phone calls to Lowes, undone install days, wrong install days, crying, crying, crying...they finally arrived. when the installers came, 4 cabinets were completely damaged. Kicked in, painted over scratches..i had called and told them what had happened, resulting in an extra 2 days of work for the install guys and 3 days at home all day with 2 little boys. I ALWAYS HAD TO CALL, they never called and said what was going on. IT is a nightmare...as for the cabinets they look great, however we payed for plumbing and its not working. The sink is backed up and the water takes forever to go down, and dishwasher is spitting out our food in the sink. We were told dates and then it would get changed for our install. NOW: the countertop...we had talked to the manager numerous times and were beginning to get frustrated, after EVERYTHING GOING WRONG..she acknowledged to me that she would put a rush on the countertop and we should see it 1-2 weeks after the guy comes out and measures for granite. STILL WAITING!!! this is april 25 and it was suppose to be installed this wednesday, well! the machine broke on the weekend so now its next week. I was only told because i had called multiple times asking for a time...so why wasn't i called on the weekend to say that it was broke..they do nothing for you and make excuses as to it not being in their control. Not sure what to do at this point. We have spent A LOT of money and it shouldn't be stressful on myself or my husband but it has taken a toll..we have had to live elsewhere because we thought it would be done at the beginning of April and its problem after problem with no solution or apology. I WILL NEVER SHOP AGAIN AT A LOWES! its an awful experience and we regret even doing a reno. Our kitchen is not big in the least so you would think it would be an easy going experience..WRONG"

"Yesterday, I placed an online order for two packages of grommets totaling $2.69. I did so because Lowes online ordering and pickup is supposed to save me time.

I arrived at the store on Union Deposit Road in Harrisburg, PA to pickup the order, and only one person (Dom) was working in customer service. She was helping another line with returns. After a good 10 - 15 minutes I asked her to alternate between the two lines. She ignored me, did not even acknowledge that I had spoken. I asked her again several times, and each time it was if I had not even spoken.

After I had been waiting at least 30 minutes, Donna showed up and punched in. She then proceeded to help a customer who TOLD HER that he had already been helped, despite my objections. It yet took another associate showing up after I had been waiting aver 40 minutes to get me these grommets! I took down the telephone number of the store manager as I left and called in, getting the service desk. They supposedly transferred me to Stephen, the manager, but I suspect it was not really him, Whoever I spoke with said that this was "unacceptable" and that he would talk to the two people I mentioned, but he did not want me coming back in to the store from the parking area from where I was calling when he did so. I am infuriated with the entire experience, and will most likely be taking my future business to Home depot.

Although this purchase was small, I am the owner of an old home with an acre of property, and I have done a *lot* of business with Lowes in the past.

"I did not shop at this store, but placed a large order online for 12 light fixtures for decorative track lighting. The price was fair and the shipping was promised to be timely - this was important for my time-sensitive renovation. However, not only did the order arrive late, but it was 12 of the wrong light fixtures. The most disappointing part was the customer service as they were extremely unhelpful, and did not return my phone calls or emails for several days at a time. Rather than issue me a shipping label to ship it back and get the correct items to me ASAP, they insisted I bring my shipment into a Lowes store and deal with the problem there. They gave me no guarantee that the correct items would be available to order in the store, and when I pressed them, they said they would call me back tomorrow, and now one week later they still have not called. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE from Lowes - terrible customer service!"

"I bought a $1,500 stainless steel whirlpool gas convection range at Lowes at the end of July. Less than a month later the oven quit working and would only display the message "Fan speed too low, contact service". That was over 2 months ago. Both Lowes and Whirlpool have been spectacularly incompetent since. Each has blamed the other for the problem. It took a month for them to get a repairman out to our house and then he said he couldn't fix it and walked out, explaining that he would call us in a couple days. That was 3 weeks ago...never did hear back from him. I've been to my local Lowes where the Appliances manager tired to get in touch with the repair man with no success. After weeks like this, the appliances manager told me that if I hadn't gotten help by today, they would just issue a gift card for my purchase price and I could buy a new one of my choice. When I called the number he gave me to get the gift card, they refused. While they acknowledged on a recorded line that I'd been promised the gift card, they claimed that I should not have been promised that and they would not help me other than to say that Whirlpool would have to fix it. Later in the day I called lowes corporate number and the representative was even more aggressively clear that they had no intention of repairing, replacing or refunding my money. She even suggested that I buy another one with my own money if I wanted the defective stove replaced! Can you believe that?"

"Bought a MayTag Fridge from Lowes 4 years ago with the extended 4 year warranty. Everything was good and working till the last couple months of the warranty left. The Fridges water and ice started to taste like metal. I changed the filter twice and yes flushed it 3 to 5 gallons. Still the same. Called the warranty service they sent out a tech, he looked at the ice tray and the water line that connects to the filter, he tasted the water right after the filter line and at the top dispensing. Tasted same, LIKE METAL. He said i don't know what it is I will tell Lowes. I waited a week for a call then called myself. They said there is nothing they can do. They said It must be the city doing something to the water. NO its not I called the city.So much for paying extra for warranty. Lowes disappointed me, they did not stand behind their warranty. I am not a happy customer. If I cant fix the problem I will by another fridge NOT FROM LOWES."
