"I ordered a jacket for my husband for Christmas on December 18, under the impression that it was guaranteed to be delivered in time of the holidays. Not only did I not get the jacket that I ordered, but today, I got a fitted hat for a random College FOOTBALL team. I am now on hold with Customer Service, where I have been languishing for the past half-hour, and have been told that I will be here for at least 40 minutes!!! after being on hold for 55 minutes, I was disconnected as soon as the supervisor got on the phone. After calling back a 3rd time, I spoke to someone who told me...in essence...my order was never processed, I can't cancel it...call back in 24 hours...too bad for me...I stopped it with my bank. but NEVER AGAIN!!! They should have told me that my item would be delivered by Orthodox Christmas on January 7th...I, too will never order from them again!!!!"
"I would avoid buying from MLB.com. I ordered a Red Sox hoodie that cost $70, which was so flimsy it was useless as a sweatshirt. It was also much too small and I returned it. I had to phone MLB.com to get a postage paid return mailing label since the one that came with the shirt was not really a mailing label at all. The woman on the phone said she would exchange it for me and told me that she processed the exchange. The replacement would be sent to me and my credit card would be adjusted as soon as they received the return item. Several weeks after mailing it to them, they still say they never received the returned item and they now tell me that they don't do exchanges for online orders, just the opposite of what their phone rep told me. They also have not posted a refund to my credit card. They are either incompetent or the slowest online outfit I've dealt with.

"Never buy anything from mlb their return policy is a total lie. You pay to ship back total rip off."
"Be careful when buying from MLB especially if you think there is going to be free shipping. They have you sign up for shop runner which looks like it is just apart of mlb kind of like an autoship etc. on other websites, but this company actually randomly charges money from your bank without you knowing."
"Approximately 1 year ago I ordered a jersey from MLB.com for my son as a Christmas gift. It never arrived. In fact, so many months had passed since placing the order that I convinced myself that I had never actually placed the order and ordered a second jersey (had saved the email, but it was buried). Eventually both arrived, one too late for Christmas, and it took weeks to get the return processed. A few weeks or months later I actually got a survey call asking for feedback and I related information about the fact that MLB.com's prices were above the market average, unless you had a discount the caller pointed out, and about my shipping issue and lack of communication. I was assured that my feedback was very important and that they were working to resolve shipping issues and that they were working to keep their prices competitive.
So a year has passed, the Cardinals are in the world series and my 14 y/o son is a huge fan of Michael Wacha, wants the cool Wacha Wacha shirt which we can only find on MLB.com. On Oct. 21, several days before the series starts, I place the order with 2nd day shipping. On Oct. 29 (yes, 8 days later) I get an email confirming that the order has been "processed" and only today, Oct. 30 do I get an email that the order has shipped. Funny thing, I called yesterday and cancelled the order which can't possibly arrive before the World Series is completely over. I spoke with a supervisor who was quite apologetic, but at a loss to explain why such a large and prominent company can't do a better job of informing customers of delays or why a 2nd day shipping order took 8 days to confirm. They offered me a $25 gift card for my trouble. They also promptly, already, sent a return label for the shirt. My $25 shirt is costing them a good $35 and the loss of a sale.
I simply won't be able to use this company again (other than the free gift card bit which I'll likely give to my son). Unfathomable that they can be so inept for what must be a massively profitable business."
"where is the 0 Star?
very poor website, I bought two authentic jersey, returned one.
its been over 10 days ago, still have not got credit, they don't know if they received it.
I cant track it, they cant track it.
poor...
I would never shop here.
thinking about returning other jersey, because this mlb shopping experience is down the drain,,,,,
i'll just go buy a shirt from sports chalet."
"Do not purchase MLB.com service if you live in the market area and actually want to watch the games. I do not have cable and purchased the service in the past to see the games. Now, all of the games are blacked out whether the games are local or away."
"Currently going through a terrible experience with MLB Shop. My wife ordered a jersey on sale for Xmas. When given the jersey, I realized that the name on the jersey was misspelled, despite being a standard (not personalized) one.
Called and asked for a replacement. I was told that they would confirm with the warehouse that all the jerseys weren't spelled that way, despite the item description and picture showing the correct way, and let me know if a replacement could be sent.
Received an email a few days later with a return label and another saying that the jersey is now out of stock. I emailed back and asked them if I could just get a personalized one with the same name and number. I was told that they don't do exchanges and I would have to place a new order. So that means returning the current one, waiting up to 30 days for a refund and then placing the new order. Of course, the jersey I got was on sale for $25 less than a personalized one so if I wanted the jersey, I would have to reorder and pay more. All because of their screw up.
Their customer service response times via email have been quick. I usually get responses in under 24 hours but they are canned, form letter responses from various individuals. There seems to be no ability to think outside procedure or take ownership to fix an issue. Very frustrating. Next time I'm buying my stuff on eBay from the guy in China. His stuff is half the price and he might actually care if I have a problem."
"I don't ever write reviews - especially negative ones, but they were so awful - over 4 phone calls either lying or outright ignorance! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! NEARLY RUINED XMAS FOR MY FAMILY as they repeatedly told us items would ship for xmas and then arrived Jan 8th! Never called despite complaints - eventually offerred only 25% credit after I put stop payment on order - not good enough - they don't care- will go out of my way to tell everyone I can not to support this site. Good luck MLB - this is worse than the steroid scandal!!!"
"BUYER BEWARE! Once you place an order with MLB.com it CANNOT be changed - even when the item is on back order or out of stock. Once you hit the enter key, it's yours. Period. Don't waste your time trying to introduce fundamental logic or to try to make even simple changes to your order.
After only a few hours after placing an order for a jersey, that was shown as on back order, I thought I changed the size to one that was in readily in stock. After numerous email exchanges, over several days, in which I explicitly told MLB.com to change the size of the jersey and instructed them to NOT ship the wrong jersey size, they knowingly proceeded to ship the wrong size anyways. Their reply (which I'll quote to demonstrate the sheer callousness and complete lack of customer service) was: "If the item you are ordering does not fit your needs, you may return the item within 60 days of delivery for a full refund of the purchase price, minus the shipping...or other charges." Basically, MLB.com will knowingly ship you the wrong product and, instead of correcting a known error, they'll ship it anyways and leave it to you to correct their mistake by returning it - less shipping and other charges.
Finally, during the series of incredible exchanges with MLB.com's Customer (Dis) Service Dept, and before MLB.com shipped the wrong size, I requested to be contacted by a supervisor. That was 9 days ago and I've yet to hear back from anyone.
As a frequent on-line purchaser of products, I've never experienced such incredibly out-of-touch business practices and policies. Needless to say, you should avoid buying from MLB.com and use other more customer-friendly websites. Pick one, any one...you'll be glad you did!"
"Ordered a T shirt on 10/3. Rec'd order confirmation one week (!) later on 10/10 with delivery expectation of 10/18 to 10/23. Wasn't acceptable so I called customer service. Be prepared to use the automated system for 10 minutes before connecting with a live person.
Asked to cancel the order and was of course told that it was likely too late, but that he would put in the request and if that wasn't possible, he would definitely expedite the shipping.
Received shipping confirmation later today -- standard delivery.
There is no reason to shop at MLB.com. You can find anything on their website in multiple other places, and the cost will be the same if not lower. Additionally, you will not have to deal with false delivery time estimates, nor customer service agents who blatantly lie.
As an fyi, and to gauge this review, I shop on multiple websites, including Amazon, ticketmaster, stubhub, baseballexpress, justbats, and more. In other words, I've been around the block. :-)"
"Ordered a Dodgers Matt Kemp batting practice jersey and received the jersey but the numbers on the front were missing. I called mlbshop to notify them of the screw up and spoke with service rep Jordan upon receiving jersey on 6/18 and was told thier warehouse would be contacted and I would receive email regarding status of re-sending me a new jersey in 48 hours, but received nothing. Spoke with Jordan again on 6/21 and was told same thing, and again nothing. Called on 6/24 and spoke to supervisor Jill who told me she would contact me the following day with an update. Its 6/24 and still have not heard back from the supervisor. This is ridiculous."
"I have to say I am a very happy customer of MLB.com. I custom made a T-shirt and ordered it in a womens medium. Most of the shirts I wear fit perfectly in a medium so I figured it would be fine. When it arived at my house I was dissapointed to find out they run super small and I was not able to fit into the one I ordered. I have had many issues with companies in the past so I prepared myself for an argument. When I called I spoke with a very nice woman who allowed me to explain my situation and then advised me that it would not be a problem to get a larger shirt mailed to me. I have to say that was the easiest conversation I have ever had with a representative regarding a return issue. Thanks MLB I will be ordering from you in the future. - A very satisfied customer Jamie CO"
"I am a big internet shopper and have never felt compelled to write a negative review on a company - but some things just cannot be ignored. I ordered an Andres Torres Mets T-shirt for my 11 year old son's birthday. I reviewed the sizing chart to insure that the XL was the proper size. When the shirt arrived, it was a MEN'S XL. Going back to the website, I saw that the men's T-Shirt is linked to the youth sizing chart and the youth T-shirt appears to be linked to a women's size chart. I emailed the company through their "Contact Us" link and received no response. I called Customer Service and was told that they would not refund or reorder this item because it was a custom order. The representative admitted that they would indeed need to correct the error on their website, but basically I was out of luck. My consolation prize was a 25% off coupon to apply to a reorder at their already overinflated prices. This company is too lazy to maintain accurate information in their online store and I will be working through Visa to get a refund. Hopefully, it will cost them more to deal with me than it would have to simply try to make me a satisfied customer."
"Do not order anything from MLB.com. My first order from them took a full three weeks to "ship", but never arrived. After calling and notifying them of the missing item, it arrived two weeks later. That was a total of five weeks. For some unknown reason I ordered a jersey from them on 12/17/11 which arrived over three weeks later, on 1/9/12. This time, it was not only the wrong jersey but also the wrong size. Several days later I received a return label from UPS and a confirmation of my new order with a delivery date another three weeks away! I have now cancelled the order and will be returning the jersey for a refund. There are many other reputable sellers who offer the same products; buy from them instead!"
