"I installed Windows 8 on my Clevo laptop and all is well except that the wireless adapter is not working. I called tech support and the technician told me to take the laptop apart to identify the adapter manufacturer. I expected him to know that. I further contacted both sales and tech support by email and they sent me a link to the Intel website which also was not helpful. I am on the road now with no wireless. I guess I will have to install Windows 7 when I get home and hope that the wireless works on that. Very disappointed."

Unfortunately this laptop was manufactured and ordered before Win 8 was officially released so we did not have Win 8 drivers for it at the time. The original laptop version was advertised with Win 7 installed this is why it only had Win 7 drivers included.
The wireless card was installed by laptop manufacture. To locate proper Win 8 drivers we had to have card model number which was impossible to know unless we look at the card’s UPC code. In many cases card model can be identified in Windows device manager. Unfortunately this laptop was ordered without any OS making impossible to identity card model without physically looking at it.
Since official release of Win 8 most of the parts manufacture updated their driver database making it easier to install Win 8 drivers on older system models. If you continue to have trouble installing win 8 on this system please contact our tech support line so we can help you resolving this issue.

"I was generally satisfied with my order from MagicMicro.
My computer was assembled within the promised time frame. It was shipped in a double box with plenty of packing peanuts.
The price was fair, especially compared to the larger manufactures. I was originally planning on assembling the system myself, but MagicMicro's prices made me reconsider.
My computer came with a different video card then I ordered. When I called MagicMicro, I immediately got through to a live person. She offered me several options. I could either install the new video card myself or return the entire system for repair. I chose to install the new video card myself. It arrived quickly and was easy to install.
There was another minor issue with the system. One of the HDDs only had 3 mounting screws. It wasn't a major issue, but it was disappointing to that this mistake slipped though quality assurance.
Was I completely satisfied with MagicMicro? No. The order should have been built right the first time. Would I buy from the company again? Yes. The prices were fair and customer service was great. "
"My purchase from MagicMicro started when the company I used to use, EnvisionCS, stopped business. I like to get custom PCs, and I like to slap some parts in myself, but I've never been comfortable with the processor/heatsink/fan installation on the motherboard. Because of this, I need a place that will do just that portion and then ship to me.
MagicMicro looked the part, so I figured I'd try them out. I built my barebones system using their cusomizable thingy. They have a HUGE array of choices, and they seem to keep up as several motherboard options were recent releases.
I ordered and the item was built and shipped extremely quickly. I ordered it on a Friday and it arrived the next Friday. The packaging was done very well. The MB+processor+case was packed inside the case's own box with the case's styrofoam. That box was then seated inside a larger box that was filled with styrofoam peanuts. Package arrived via Fedex and required a signature.
Everything worked correctly right off the bat, once I put in my own harddrives, DVD, video card, etc.
GOOD: First off, they updated the BIOS. Second, I had mentioned in my order which parts I was going to be installing myself. They neatly strung out the correct power and data connections for my 3 HDDs, my DVD, and my video card so I just had to plug them in. That right there is good customer service.
BAD: Communication leaves something to be desired. I of course got an immediate email when I submitted my order, but did not receive any update until my order shipped. If this company had sent some little personal email, IE "Hey this is Frank. We got your order and I'm starting work on your custom PC!", this would have been the single best internet purchase of my entire life. Without that, though, I am just "very satisfied." ;) I knew from reading other reviews on RR that their communication was their weak point, and that is definitely true."

"A+ on price & hardware performance, BUT Site said no usps, & did anyway. Motherboard needed many updates including main Bios. USB 3.0 Drivers not installed. Advertised "Cool & quiet" fan is actually very noisy with absolutely no overclocking and in "efficiency mode" AND... The Win 8 Pro upgrade offer is missing. Shipping was Outrageous, lol."
"I almost purchased my build at another company but when I read the reviews by customers of both companies, I purchased my system here. Their customer service is stellar. There were a few questions about my configuration and they emailed me immediately. By return email, I was able to address these items with them.
Later the same day they found that one of the components I had requested was not immediately available, so they phoned (YES, I said PHONED) me to offer me an equal device or find out if I wanted to wait the 4-5 days to obtain the part. Later, they followed up our phone conversation with an e-mail confirming the change authorized by me. This was very professional. I appreciate their timely communications in order to process my order in a timely manner.
They completed the build and I had it set up at home in less than a week. It took longer to get to Colorado by ground freight (my choice) than it took them to build it.
It was a clean boot up, right out of the box and 2 days later, I downloaded the new Windows 8 upgrade.
Things are running smoothly but this 71 year old grandfather still has a large learning curve ahead regarding the newly installed Windows 8 operating system.
If you want your new system built "Your Way" without waiting forever, and you aren't sure just where you should purchase it from, look no further... this is definitely the place.

"I am getting ready to buy another computer from MagicMicro. I found that their service department extremely responsive. Computer companies are expected to build you a great computer and get it to you in a timely fashion. It is when things go wrong that the best companies shine. After Hurricane Katrina, living in New Orleans, I bought a computer from MagicMicro. It worked great for a few weeks than the power supply burned up. They happily sent me a new and better one. It burned up again and they again sent me a better one. After the third time the power supply burned up and receiving yet another replacement power supply, I finally figured out that my electricity after the Katrina was extremely spiky because of all the damage from the storm and I had no surge suppressor. Got a surge suppressor and no problems since 2008 time for a new computer.
MagicMicro stood behind its product even though it was my fault. Great company!!!! They have a customer for life."
