There were no surprises, omissions, or substitutions, save for one usb internal cable that worked loose in shipping. Excellent internal construction - no screws left out of mainboard or disk drives. Had it up and happily running Win XP / SP3 in about three hours from unpack time. Terrific vendor."

"There are plenty of bad reviews on this site for MagicMicro, but I have had a pleasurable experience with them. I purchased a bare bones systems at the end of last year and received it promptly as described. I have been using it for a week now with only one small problem: the onboard audio doesn't work, but the top panel audio does (I have an Asus M2N-E SLI mobo). I think it might be something with the device driver. At any rate, everything else works great. The computer is fast, quiet, and stays cool. I can play games, render video quickly, and all for a decent price. I am happy with my dealings with this company. They were prompt and professional and I would purchase from them again."

I got all this for like $680, including shipping...which is a pretty nice price...

I was emailed by FedEx at around 12:30 PM and they said the computer was delivered to my house today, i am at school now and have a free block so i will check it out when i get home. I got this computer generally because my old one exploded and i needed a new one anyways, i was running an AMD Sempron 2200+ with 512 MB of RAM, which was crazy slow, i managed to salvage the CPU and Motherboard and case, and let my dad transfer his data onto it and fix it, it works now.... I am going to add another 1GB of RAM to the MM system once i get home. I still have to put all of my old drives in it, and the new video card, and copy my OS over to my new HD. I am going to use this system generally for gaming, so, i hope it works out. I must say the shipping time was a little slow, but they had to build the computer first, so i guess thats why. Once they started building the computer it only took them 2 hours to finish it and it shipped the same day. I have a Calculus portfolio problem to do so i dont know if i will able to do much with the computer, but the problem will probably only take me 15 mins. I will come back with an update on how the computer turned out.

UPDATE:

Okay, so i got home and opened the box and everything looked in order and as advertised. I intened on putting in my old Hard drive with an OS and all my data on it, into the new computer but the computer did not like that. I tried making it a master and slaving it to the bigger drive, no luck. I think its because my old HD is an EIDE and the new on is a Serial ATA. The computer doesn't know how to slave one of those...or make it a master and recognize it, but thats ok. I'll just make my old HD an external USB drive and that'll be that. I installed XP Pro on the new HD. It went crazy fast, after it inspected the hardware i had XP up and running in less that 5 minutes. Everything was fine and it was very fast. But, however, when i play games after about 10-15 minutes i get a blue-screen error..i think its a problem with the RAM...when i do get the error i restart and everything is ok, I'll have to call MagicMicro and get some different RAM sticks. Overall it is a very nice and fast computer and is what i ordered. My two last small complaints with the computer other than the RAM is that the Front LCD Temperature Display wont turn on (it may be unplugged, i don't know, i'll have to check) and the way they consolidated the cables made it very hard for me to plug and unplug things. I really hope it is the RAM that is causing the blue0screen error, i bought this computer for games and i do not want it to crap out after every 15 minutEs of play.

I will come back later with a brief update on how the RAM replacement went, and if it was the problem...

So, i have not yet replaced my RAM...i have not gotten around to it, but playing games on this computer has been almost impossible. I cannot play for more than 15 minutes without the game either crashing, or me getting a blue-screen error. I don't know if its the RAM or something else. I think im going to buy an 8800 GT and see if my video card is the problem. If not, i plan to send the computer back to MM and ask them to diagnose the problem and fix it. Theres no point in having a good gaming computer, if you can only game on it for 15 minutes at a time.

I have my own Monitor and Copy of Vista Ultimate.

This is my first purchase from Magic Micro, and
I really hope all goes well. If it does, they'll
have a life-long customer, and if not, they'll
lose one. Either way, I'm going to post every
detail here for you all to see, so you'll know
better what you're getting when you choose this
company.

I'm going to call today, the morning after I
placed my order to address concerns about cooling
and the 'Asian knock-off' video cards they seem
to use.

UPDATE:

I did call them to address my concerns.
When I asked if I will get genuine products,
specifically the video card, the response was,
"I don't know what you're talking about."
I explained that I've read numerous reviews on
the company explaining how they sub in inferior
products hoping the customer won't notice. The
response then was,
"If we're out of stock on something, we will
substitute it with an upgrade, something superior
yet compatible. We never install parts that are
of a lesser quality than what was purchased."
I said, "Well okay then, I just need to make sure
that I will be receiving what I ordered, exactly.
And if not, I want to be notified of any changes.

They promised they would build the system with
the exact choices I made and have it out to me
in two days, three days max.

So next the next update will be what happens
after I receive the system and run it for a
couple of weeks. Wish me luck.

FINAL UPDATE:

Well, it's only been a few days, but that's long enough. I had a touch of trouble... I ordered a
second 120mm fan for my case, but they didn't put
one in there, instead they shiped a separate 80mm
fan. I had a touch of trouble getting things going
with Vista, but that's not Magic Micro's problem,
and Steve, the tech. guy, was great. He had a
120mm fan shipped right out to me and did all he
could to help me over the phone. I ended up solving
all of my problems on my own.
The video card is slightly suspect, for it does
not match any pictures that I can find, however
it reads as though it's sufficient. Other than
that, all went quite well. I'm super critical,
and I found little to complain about with this
company. I'm quite happy with the system and I'm
overall happy with the company.

The reviews here are not very good, but in my world
the word of mouth reviews are great for Magic Micro.
So I guess it's who you talk to. They took good
care of me, and they'll get plenty of future
business because of it. I would give them a
chance, no question.

Overall, I'd give them a 9 out of 10."
