I ordered a Nikon SB-700 for my wife on Sept 3rd from Mello Digital as they had the best price. I received a call shortly after from a "Manager" to tell me that it was on back order and they could get me a Sigma unit out that day that was better than the Nikon. My wife said she preferred the Nikon unit. The Sales guy told me 3-5 week delivery because of back order and I told him fine, go ahead and send the Nikon unit when available. I called back after 6 weeks and was told the item was still on back order with no idea when the order would be fulfilled but that they got "shipments in all the time".
We are now at 10 weeks and still no reply to phone messages or e-mails.
I checked Nikon's list of authorized dealers and Mello Digital are not listed. The item we ordered is STILL on their web site as being "In Stock" and has been for the past 10 week even though they claim to be on back order.
Stay well way from these clowns!!! If you read the posts, even the "satisfied" people generally got sold something other than what they ordered and it was usually more expensive!!!!"
"STAY AWAY FROM MELLODIGITAL!!! I wish I had read the reviews of MelloDigital before I tried to purchase the Canon 580ex II flash from them. The same exact thing that has happened to so many, they tried to do to me. After placing my order, Lisa called back saying the product is back-ordered for 6 weeks, and I can buy the Sigma brand, which is "better and cheaper." After offering $100 off for the Sigma because the Canon was not in stock, the Sigma was now only $300. Well, after a little research, you can buy the Sigma anywhere online for around $230 or less. I asked why they didn't mention on their website that the product was not in stock, and on 6 week back order, and they said they were unable to update their website because of the hurricane. That obviously was an absolute LIE! They have been using this bait-and-switch tactic for a long time now as you can see from all the posts. This is a very dishonest business. If they have any good reviews, I would imagine it is their own employees or friends that are writing the reviews, not actual customers. They get a 1 star, only because that is the lowest I am allowed to give. If it were possible, they would not get a single star rating at all. "
"We ordered a Sony battery charger and a Sony battery for our Sony camera. The order came promptly but unfortunately the UPS delivery man left on the ground for us and our dog got it. He chew the battery charger into pieces and left some scratches on the battery. I called MelloDigital to report the incident and also filed a complaint with UPS who said that they will contact MelloDigital to replace the order. MelloDigital Sales Staff immediately sent me an email asking me to call them which I did and they resolved the matter by sending me a replacement of my order without waiting for UPS to contact them. They were very kind and prompt in their action to help me getting the order which I really needed even though it was not their fault that the order was damaged. Thank you so much MelloDigital. Unfortunately the battery I ordered wasn't compatible with my
camcorder & wouldn't take a charge so it had to be returned.
Based on the information on the battery, it should of been fine
so I do not put blame on sales. Just not sure why it wasn't
sufficient. Due to the urgency required of the battery, I had to
turn to the manufacturer of the camera. Thanks again Lisa for

"I just got off the phone with Lisa at Mellodigital. She has once again delivered exceptional service. I have ordered 2 times at Mello and the first time became complicated. A battery I ordered for my camera did not work after 5 months. When I called to register a complaint, Lisa explained that I had a five year warranty and she looked up the number as I was at the hospital with my son that has cancer. She also sent me my billing information that I was unable to find on my computer. I sent my battery to the manufacturer and it was returned back to me because the battery had been stolen from the envelope. I then ordered the wrong battery which arrived today. Lisa, as usual, professionally calmed me down and assured me that she would put the correct battery in the mail. When your child is fighting for their life,it is easy for life to be complicated. With employees like Lisa, I will be a forever customer with a friendly professional that can help me navigate simple choices that turn into nightmares. I guess I will be holiday shopping and spreading the news that customer service is alive and well with Lisa at MelloDigital."

We recently placed an order on line for a battery for our Nikon Camera, We
then received a message to call. My wife called back to hear that that
battery was not available. The gentleman on the phone quizzed her and got
out of my wife that she needed it for our daughters wedding that coming week
end. He suggested another battery that would do the job and was a better and
more expensive one. He said he would be able to ship it out to us on time
and gave my wife a great deal on it.
It arrived on time and it lasted the entire wedding and 98% of the
reception. We got some great photos to cherish for a life time.
I just wanted to thank that man and the company for going above and beyond
to please a customer. Great customer service is a lost art these days.

"This is a bait and switch. I ordered a Canon flash.. then got the call a day later offering a Sigma falsh because the other was back ordered. I said no, I would wait, five weeks later was just told it is still on back order though if you go to their web site it says in stock and will ship in two days... what they will do is call and offer a Sigma and pressure you in to taking it. "

I recently broke my nikon flash and was in a hurry to buy a new one. I came across this company who advertised SB-600 flash for a very low price and 'in stock.' I ordered it and the very next day they called me and said the item is actually NOT in stock and offered to send me a Sigma flash instead. Instead of cancelling the order, I went ahead and gave them the ok to send me this other flash, which turn out to be not as ideal as I should've known already. I called them a few days later for refund and they said they don't take flash back and offered me an additional $20 credit and advised me to 'get used to the product.'
I learned my lesson. Need I say more??"
