"I recently ordered a premodded XBox. I got the new xbox, accessory kit, X3 chip, and pro-switch. Very fast service, I put in the order on Friday, and received everything on wednesday.

BUT... Got the XBox out and turned it on, and the chip doesn't seem to be working. Took case off, to notice that the circuit board wasn't seated well to the motherboard. THe lights started working on the pro-switch, but when i try to boot to the chip, all I get is a black screen. Put in a ticket and it took them about a week to even respond to me. That is just BAD customer service. And the only suggestion i got was to try and boot off the backup rom! The xbox wasn't booting at all, and I tried every combination.

Luckily I took the xbox apart, traced every connection, and got it working myself NO THANKS TO MODCHIPMAN...

Again, It came very fast, and it was exactly what i ordered, but was DOA and ZERO customer support.

" I ordered my dms4 pro ezi and got it in 2 days! I live only 100 mi away from Chicago so this wasn't real shocking. I also posted a couple of ?'s and even got a response on a sunday. I highly recommend modchipman and the dms4 ezi. The only problems I had with it were my own fault. If you order this product become very familiar with both your ps2 and the install manual. Sony used allot of newer mobo's in what are seemingly older consoles. After reviewing my console I thought I had a v5/6 mobo,however I actually have a v7. So even after you check out your console verify your mobo's V# by referencing the GH-*** on the mobo itself."

"Order #27817

Not long after ordering my premod, it arrived.. Relatively quick turnaround time, certainly nothing to complain about... Unfortunately, the premod I received had the following problems:

1) Noisy, squeaky hard drive. Made chirping sounds on spinup/spindown.
2) RUST on the metal inside the case.
3) The fan on the Nvidia heatsink (1.0 XBox) was separated from it's base, bouncing freely in the case.
4) FRAG on boot 98%+ of the time.
5) They sent an off-brand controller with a fan in it, which wouldn't work in the BIOS they sent with the DuoX2 chip box I ordered. Thankfully, I have multiple retail, Microsoft XBox controllers here which worked fine. The offbrand controller also intermittently repored it was disconnected.
6) The few times the system did boot for me, it wouldn't read pressed retail games (KOTOR wouldn't properly display it's loading screen graphics, Fable would't get past it's opening cinematics, etc), no less any sort of burned disks.

After a bit of back and forth with MCM support via tickets, starting 24-2-2005-4:02, and ending 11 26-2-2005-10:17, I get an RMA address to send the box back to. Now I have to admit, I was a bit short on cash, and wasn't able to pay to send it back until March 4th, 2005. The box arrived, according to USPS, "Your item was delivered at 12:24 pm on March 07, 2005"(**)

And I heard nothing, even when prodding MCM people in online chat about it. I got an email March 13th saying it was received, and being worked on. An entirely different box was shipped out Mar 18, 2005 at 9:57 PM via FedEx, and it arrived Mar 24, 2005 at 9:06 AM. (***)

In total, [b]35[/b] days passed from my initial order was placed to the time I received a working XBox, with 6 days of this being due to the delay between getting RMA information and my actually sending out the box. The XBox I have now works perfectly, and they sent a Microsoft branded (small) controller. The box they sent did not include a power or AV cable. Thankfully I had spares, and I'm so tired of dealing with it that I no longer have the willpower to persue it. I wound up paying $18.80 Shipping to return the bad box in addition to $213 for the premod.

Considering the additional cost for what was clearly a bad box even before it was sent out (rust, noisy drive, and DVD read issues at least), the extreme delay, the absolute lack of communication, and the utter lack of professionalism in their IRC channel (What's with some of the op names there? :P), I will not be doing business with MCM again when I have my PS2 modded, or when I purchase a second XBox premod.

"I ordered 2 items from this store. An XBIT mod chip, and an EZ Flash 1 gig cart. The store claims 1-3 day ground delivery by Fedex. I recieved an E-mail on the 21st claiming the order had just been processed.
Now we're already into 6 days. 2 or 3 days later, I had to go down to the Fedex office and pay another $14 plus change when i had already paid the $11 shipping with my cc. The modchip was all I got in the order, the EZ Flash has still not arrived. Tody is the 26th of March, making a 1-3 day delivery 11 days already, and still not recieved.....I am very unhappy with the service i'm recieving. I ordered an EZ flash around XMAS and it took a few weeks, but I thought "why not give them another chance?" I really hope this gets straightened out.

I appreciate your prompt reply. This order actually came with 2 different numbers. The EZ cart was #28975, and the XBIT was #28976. However, the same tracking # was recieved for both...[i have the e-mails] The Fedex guy did not knock on the door, and i had to go down and pick it up at night. All I recieved was an XBIT chip, No EZ-cart. One package. When you ask if "i'm sure I didn't recieve the EZ-cart" It sounds as if you are insinuating that I am lying. I would know if i got it or not as I am not blind. That comment disappointed me, however I am impressed with your quick reply.

O.K., Ihave finally recieved both items i ordered, although one a week after the other. I thought it was all over now. NOT A CHANCE. The XBIT 1.5 modchip i ordered cannot be programmed on any system i've tried. [WinXP, WIN '98, WINDOWS ME] I've had 1.0 xbits before and no problems. This 1.5 chip is useless to me. I've read many forums in which other ppl have had exactly the same problem, [cannot be programmed] I wish i could contact you ppl directly instead of on a website. All i want is a working modchip.Not asking for CASH back, just a chip that works. Please respond so we can finally clear this up.

"Just got my box in today. I got a refurbished premod xbox with the xtender. Didn't take long for delivery seeing as i paid for the cheapest shipping. Ordered it Monday it was shipped out on Friday and was recieved today, Wednesday. Everything works fine. I flashed the bios and everything works great. I like the X_3 alot...good chip. MCM is great.
