"I visited my local Monro shop for an oil change and NY Staste inspection, now that my "toyota Care" service has ended. I was impressed with the changes that have been made at Monro! Tire wear and brake pad thickness were provided, service was prompt and thorough, and the shop replaced their worn-out chairs. Prices were low/reasonable. I will be a future customer."

In my experience, the first time I was not concerned that the value apparent in the offer was not their opportunity to sell me a number of services that I did not need. "Hello
I want to Monro, 410 Home Drive, SHOP 356 Pittsburgh, PA 15275 like I usually do. I have been going to this store off and on for 4 years. But after this time I think it will be my last time ever. RJ, who I think was the store manager is who helped me through all my visits whit this situation. He was really friendly but being friendly is not everything it takes to keep a customer.
On March 29th I dropped my car off for a yearly car inspection. An hour later RJ told me I needed a new muffler, all 3 pieces where rusted and could not pass inspection. He said it will cost $2200 but he got it down to $1400. Side note; my car was not loud or sounded funny but my inspection was due in 2 days. I told him I would call him back. I called a few other places for an estimate and they said that $1400 was to high, less then $800 was average. So I called RJ and told him that I will take my car and get it fixed for less then $800 and bring it back since he started my car inspection. He told me to wait so he could find my paper work. He said he did not want to lose a customer so he could get the price down to $830 and could do it the same day. I agreed with him since he could do it the same day.
I was in the area about an hour and a half later so I stopped by to just check to see when my car would be done. When I walked in RJ told me he can not get the parts until Tuesday and it would not be worked on today. So why did he not give me a curtsey call about this? One reason why I stayed with Monro was he said he could get it fix today. Now until next week. Pep boys had the parts and could have got it fixed today but now it was to late for me to reschedule. So I scheduled with RJ on Wednesday to drop my car off. I paid for my car inspection and left.
So the next morning on Sunday I got pulled over by the police. My left break lights were out and that is why I got pulled over. I explained to the officer that I was just at Monro yesterday for my inspection. He thought that was very odd since that the car inspections is to make sure the cars are safe on the roads. He gave me a warning since I had my paper work still in the car from the day before. I just can not believe that Monro had my car to do my inspection and did not see that my break lights were out,
On Wednesday I dropped off my car. On Thursday I picked it up. When he gave me the bill it was over $900? The reason why is he was trying to double charge me for my car inspection.
The conclusion is:
How do you go from $2200, to $1400, to $830 after I tell him I can get my car done for cheaper.
How can you guarantee me that you can get my car done today but can't and don't give me a curtsey call about it.
How can you try and charge me for me car inspection twice
How can I get pulled over the next day after my inspection and have my turn signals out, that is what the car inspection is for.
I have talked with a few friends about this whole situation with Monro and everyone agrees with me that it sounds very odd. Dropping the price from $2200 to$400 to $830 just makes me feel like he was trying to "pull one over on me" charge me way more just because he can. Doing the inspection and still have my break lights not fixed. Trying to double charge me for the car inspection.
I must say this whole thing has just put a bad taste in my mouth with your company. I have lost my trust with your prices, with your honesty, with your commitment to helping others and quality in work.

"This location in Glenolden, PA is the worst place to have anything related to a car done. If you make an appointment they will still have you waiting several hours to even change your oil. The last time I when to this location only have 1 mechanic on duty. I had to wait 5 hours to have oil change and inspection on a 2010 Sentra that's with having a scheduled appointment time. I will never go here again what a waste of a day."

"A dependable place but pricing is way out of line for full synthetic oil change. Coupon is only good for basic and blended change. Even though I declined a tire rotation the price was almost $90. , In verifying with the dealer and Walmart , the price was almost $40. higher than Walmart and $25. higher than the new car dealer. I did call Monro customer service and they verified the Monro pricing and did not even offer to have someone in authority review the matter. Clearly a bad move and I take it to be standard procedure. No more oil changes from Monro. What else would Monro expect a customer to do? "

"The manager was quite friendly and professional. However, I requested to have my manual transmission fluid changed, and when it was changed, excess fluid was sprayed all over that side of the engine bay. Also, I didn't receive any feedback on the manual transmission fluid change. I'm curious as to the interval and the fluid used. This is vital information to maintain my vehicle as per the manufacturer's instructions."
