"All interactions with the staff at Nature Hills they were professional yet so personable and clearly with a goal of providing first class service."
"Improved dwarf citrus tree arrived in excellent conditions!!!"
"The trees arrived very quickly and in great condition. The little kumquat tree even had fruit on it."
"tree came in with ball root separate from tree, very dry leaves , costumer service notified, no result yet. All other trees over the years were succesful "
"Lemon trees arrived in excellent condition. Looking forward to some lemons. "
"My weeping cherry tree was shipped and delivered safely in a box. Ordering was easy and delivery took a couple of weeks. "
"I ordered about $300 worth of plants - cherry blossom, azaleas and boxwood. The plants came in separate orders and they took weeks to arrive. And when they finally arrived, the boxwood tree box was empty. I complained with the customer service but Barry was very apathetic to the situation and would not offer a refund, even though they didn't give me the product that I paid for. Nature Hills requested pictures of the box, which I took, and promised they would ship new items as soon as they have. So now I'm looking at 1+ month to receive the plants which is unacceptable in this day and age.
Overall:
Turtle speed shipping
Horrible customer service
Outrageous pricing - plants come in small sizes that are triple the price of what you would get in store
Avoid at all cost"
"I've purchased from Nature Hills several times. Their plants always arrive professionally packaged and in good condition. We've got a major update coming for our landscape this spring and Nature Hills will be providing nearly all our material."
"I ordered a cherry tree. One month later it had not arrived. I called to cancell. They informed me they had a ten dollar fee.
They did nothing and stole ten dollars!
Avoid these crooks!"
"What a horrible organization! I ordered a Lavender Twist Weeping Redbud and was so excited about the order. When It was delivered, it looked dead because it was bare root. I called Nature Hills right away and was told that. I waited and called again 2 months later, and was told I needed to wait longer. Bare Root! I was not told anything else! I just called again, 4 months after I had ordered it, and was told I would need to pay AGAIN if I wanted a replacement tree! What’s up! I will never order from them again!"
"Oct. 13 update - My two cherry trees are planted. They came with great instructions and so far seem very healthy. Just felt that I needed to related that the cherry tree transaction ended well.
I ordered two thornless raspberry bushes in early June. Several days later the nursery called to say they were out of stock and would be in stock again next spring. I requested a refund to my credit card. They refused saying they don't give refunds, but rather merchandise credit. I agreed. After looking at their terms, this is not listed unless you are wanting a replacement of something. So in July I ordered two cherry trees. I ordered on another day of $9.95 shippling and a sale on the trees. They called me a day later and ask to verify my credit card number. I then requested an email of my receipt for the trees. When it arrived they had charged me $49 for shipping. I sent two emails, and made a call. They flat out refused to listen and help me with my request. Said it was against policy. So I asked for the head guy, and was put in touch with Kyle. He listened and after much waiting while he investigated my situation, he agreed to refund $40 to my credit card for the shipping. That was three weeks ago. Today I get notice that the trees are shipping, and as of yet there is not $40 credit to my card. I just left a message for Kyle that I needed the refund asap or I would file a dispute with my credit card company. Upon reaching out to Nature Hills, they did provide me with the transaction number for the refund, and I did find it. Thank you, Kyle!
I want to edit my review to note the reluctance of this nursery to work with me and it took many notifications to get to a reasonable solution. I do look forward to planting the cherry trees, and being satisfied with my purchase. "
"They sent a dead tree, and when I called to replace it based on the warranty they provide I was going to be charged almost the same price as a new one. On top of that, the shipping promotion they had "was only for new purchases".
Well, it seems the only thing they care about are new purchases. I am not buying from them ever again, and will tell everyone to avoid them."
"I purchased a Dogwood and a Gingko tree which were delivered in April of this year. The Dogwood is fine, however the Gingko, although still alive, has gotten only 3 leaves and they have only grown to less than one inch. I have called 3 times for advice or a new tree only to be told it is still viable and I should wait a little longer. The last call, today, I was told by Barry that maybe I should wait until Spring and see if it survives the winter. Well that surely won"t happen in the snow. So......my advice.....DO NOT BUY from this so called nursery. I read the reviews too late to see all the single stars. my bad. "
"Best I can tell, they’re marking up plants from other nurseries AND get those nurseries to ship them. My order came from 2 different locations. I looked them up. it's real nurseries where you can buy the same darn plants for a LOT less online. Looked up the Nature hills address on the website, no wonder they won't take returns. It's just offices. No fields or plants. I hate that I fell for there slick marketing. "
"I ordered 2 hybrid willows in early 2017-both were fully leafed and planted within 3-4 hours of receipt. 1 is still growing well and the other grew in 2017, but did not come back in 2018, after a hard winter (in MN). I asked for a replacement under their 1 year warranty, paid the asked half-price and received a tree (without leaves or any sign of life) June 12, 2018. It also was planted within 3-4 hours of receipt. Since it had no leaves, I took a couple pictures, as proof. June 29th, I asked for a replacement (Barry) and was told since it was a "bare root" plant, to wait awhile. On July 29th, I took more pictures and again asked for a replacement. Now, Barry tells me I would have had to protest within 48 hours of receipt ("We do need to know within 48 hours of receipt if you are not satisfied with the product due to damage or suspected non-viability").
Do not buy from these people, they ship dead product and do not stand behind their stated replacement policy."
