"Like so many other reviewers, I knew what I wanted and ordered it (a Nikon SB-600 flash) with 3 day shipping. I looked up their reviews and chose to order in spite of the theme I saw, because of the $20 difference in price. Big mistake. Like others, I received a phone call the first business day after placing the order, this time saying there was a recall (which there was, a few months ago) and trying hard to sell me a Sigma flash. The salesperson said they had been waiting for 7 weeks for more flashes, but that they didn't know when they would receive them.

I called Adorama once I got off the phone, and they've had the flash in stock straight through (said the recall was well past over with), so the whole thing felt fishy to me. To their credit, NWV Direct issued a refund by the end of the day.

The item (SB-600 flash) is still listed as in stock and shipping within 1-2 business days, in spite of the fact that the salesperson told me they had no idea when they'd be getting them back in.

"This company appears to use bait and switch tactics. I decided to use them because their price was better than anyone else I could find. Shortly after the order was placed via their web site, they called to let me know it was on back order everywhere for 6-8 weeks. They offered what turned out to be a Chinese substitute for $69. When I declined they dropped the price $20 and tried again. I can buy Chinese stuff on eBay for little more than the cost of shipping so I declined again. I ended up getting for a little more from B&H Photo-Video with no problems."

"Bait & Switch tactics, just as described by many others. I was emailed that there was an issue with my order & that I should contact them at a provided telephone number.

When I called, was told that the battery charger (Canon CG-580 Portable Battery Charger For BP-500 Series) was backordered for six weeks from Canon & nobody has this currently. But, that she would "UPGRADE" me to a better, more expensive model for only $69 instead of the $37 the real thing was supposed to be. I then said "no", and was offered it for $49 instead. And, she also offered an "UPGRADE" for the battery I ordered to a non-Canon battery for the same price that was "worth more & better product". I then told her this was a bait & switch, and she denied it. She was only trying to help me. But, she did not have the product I ordered and tried to replace it with an inferior product (BAIT & SWITCH). I then cancelled my order & was told that my Paypal would be credited within 24 hours. We will see.

"This was my first time ordering from them. I had left the battery charger to my camera in a hotel in the Bahamas and found NWV by searching Google for the product. I ordered the replacement and the next day I get a call from them saying the part they have is back-ordered but they have another version that they can give me. It's usually more expensive but they will sell it to me the same price as what I ordered. Got it the next day and it seems to work great. This charger also has and international plug and a car charger, so it's nicer than the one I had. Really appreciate the fast service and accommodation on price despite being a more expensive unit. I would buy from them again."

"NWV Direct was the only place on the internet after MUCH searching that had the lenses and adapters for my camera (Sony H20). From start to finish, the ordering process was smooth and flawless. The staff at NWV Direct (especially a gentleman named Charlie) was more than friendly.
