"I am completely disgusted with the way New World Video Direct does business. They tried to scam me into buying a $40 flash for my camera for $100. They do very shady business. After doing research on the product and realized I was being scammed, I called in to cancel the order and customer service was so rude. The man I spoke to could not have been more unprofessional if he tried. Raising his voice at me, wouldn't let me speak and was completely disrespectful. It's pitiful that a company like this is still in business. Worst online buying experience ever.

Edited to add: You will also get a call trying to bribe you into taking off your negative reviews. I am being sent a cheap mini tripod in an attempt to have this review removed. Nice try, NWVD.

"one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with.

I ordered my product with 2-day air.. never received the product. 3 emails and 2 phones calls (I never got to talk to anyone.. just "left a message") were never answered.

I just thank God they never charged me for my order.

EDIT: as soon as I submitted this review, I did get a call from their customer service. They pointed out 2 things, 1) they had sent an email about my order and 2) the page said to call for availability

My issue 1) I never received the email (which could have been a delivery issue) but the emails I sent after that date asking about the status still went unanswered. 2) I looked at the website again, and I feel that "please call for availability" was not intuitive. The stock status should be next to the "add to cart" button.. but this is a web design issue.

The answers I got had the feeling of "Your fault, not mine"..but I might be reading too much into the email so I won't use that against them in this review

I have adjusted my rating based on my interaction with the Customer service.

Good lord! Just when I thought I was done, I get this email - threatening me that they will send my review to their "legal" department. here is what they wrote as I was editing my review:

Passover Holidays. Look you can leave the review as it is but it will be sent to our legal department. They are very serious about unfair postings. And I did apologize several times even though we sent you that email. You should do the right thing here.

"I ordered a Nikon sb-400 from this website because it was the cheapest out there, I didn't hear from them for three days and then I call they tell me they will ship it in two days. two hours later a nice lady calls explaining that this is out of stock and I should get a vivtar flash, I just cancelled my order. The only problem is that why do you not say that the flash is out of stock before I buy it! If I knew that I would have ordered from somewhere else!"

"I ordered three 32 gb SD cards which were to arrive between April 1 and 4, 2011. On the last of those days I called to see where my order was. I got a call back from NWV saying they hadn't shipped because they were out of stock. (When I ordered they indicated they were in stock.) The then upsold me to faster cards for an added $10 or so each. If it wasn't bait and switch it was certainly sloppy. I wouldn't use them again."

"I'm very impressed with the service of New World Video Direct. They are quick, responsive, friendly and generous. The lens hood I ordered arrived immediately in the mail, shining new. When I opened it, I realized it was my fault that I had not ordered the right size. When I emailed customer service, they responded in minutes. Charlie was very friendly. Even though it was my fault, he offered to send me the correct size for free, no shipping costs at all. I am impressed with the generosity of New World. Next time I order through Amazon, I'll definitely look for their name, and order through them.

"5 Stars All The Way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just wanted to thank NWV Direct for making my transaction as smooth as possible. I worked directly with Mark and I have to say he was wonderful. I returned a lens that did not work for my camera (it was too big) and I received the replacement a day later. You guys are awesome and even the packaging was impressive (to say the least).

A very satisfied and most definitely a returning customer.
