"Same story as everyone else but with a twist. I CALLED the day I ordered to check stock of an item. The female I spoke with said they had the item in limited quantities so I would be safe to go ahead and order it. I got off the phone and ordered the item online. Lo and behold a few days later I get the Email about "issues with my order please contact Mark". I called and a female answered (She had a FEMALE NAME). She proceeded to let me know the item was backordered, I cut her off and told her I checked via telephone the same day I ordered so cancel and refund me please. She started to say I can offer you this other blah blah blah but I cut her off again and told her refund it Promptly and this is what your company is known for. Then she hung up.
Also as a side note I put it in the notes on my order that if they did not have the item in stock to cancel and refund me. Refunded thru Paypal.
Still would not order thru them again. It's a 50/50 shot they will have what you want when you order it, so take your chances if you must. Probably fine to deal with if they actually HAD the item you wanted.
It's not hard to actually have OUT OF STOCK online if an item is not available instead of luring customers with low prices on something you do not have then try to sell them something "similar". "

"I ordered a 1.7x lens by Sony. Then they said that it was not available and asked if they could ship a 2.2x lens, saying the 1.7x lens was outdated. I was very particular about a Sony lens and once I received it, when I asked to return it, there was a bit of confusion at first, but they do value their customers and allowed me to return the product. I liked how they took the time to reply to my e-mails, and they are interested in good customer relations.
In the future I would like to buy products from them, but I'm a bit disappointed that it didn't work out this time. "

The following day I had a notice from Paypal saying the entire purchase amount had been refunded. There was a note attached saying the item had been backordered. I missed the note and sent an email to NWV Direct asking what happened. They informed me the item was back-ordered. They were very friendly and didn't try to sell me anything else. I ordered a couple of canon batteries on their website. They had the best price by 40%, I should have known something was up.

Soon after my order I get a call that the batteries are on back order and likely won't make it in time for Christmas. They have a better, generic version of course they can sell me. After I say no, they even lower the price on the generic. Just glad they finally cancelled my order."

I ordered a Panasonic Brand teleconversion lens for my Panasonic Lumix FZ28 (DMW-LT55 )a little over 2 weeks ago.
I never received an email or phone call from them, and today I finally received my order.
I was so excited... UNTIL I realized that it was NOT EXACTLY WHAT I ORDERED!!! Instead of sending me my Panasonic LT55, they took it upon themselves to send me a Hila Optics 2.2x Professional Telephoto Lens High Definition.
I paid $139.00 for my Panasonic LT55. When I searched the web to get more information on this Hila Optical 2.2x lens, the only place that I could find that was selling it was New World Video Direct. Now I'm really suspicious and getting more upset. Now oddly, the cost for this Hila Telephoto lens is listed at $299.00????????????????????? Oh but wait, nobody else is selling it anywhere, so did they just put this very expensive price tag on this item in their attempt to make me feel like I got a much better product so that I should not complain or return the item??????? I just cannot get over the fact that they took it upon themselves to send me whatever it was that they felt like. To say that I am upset is an understatement!
What makes me even more upset was the fact that I read a complaint about how this company will call you after you place your order to tell you that the item that you ordered is out of stock, but they have "something else of better quality" that they can send you in place of what you ordered.
But, I decided to give New World Video Direct the benefit of the doubt, and ordered from them believing that these are very isolated instances.

"THE OLD BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM. I purchased a 72mm nikon circular polarizer from this company. the price was low, but not unheard of...so i decided to purchase from new world video direct. I received an email the next day stating that my item had been back ordered. i immediately called the cancel my order. as i expected, they tried selling me a cheaper filter for the original purchase price of the expensive nikon filter. they refunded me right away when i told them i told them i knew what they were doing and that it wasn't right. BUYER BEWARE!"
