"The single worst online buying experience I have ever endured. Still waiting for my refund (14 days later). I ordered a Desk/Hutch Bundle for a great price, and was excited to see that it would be delivered on 2-3-2012 between 8:30 am and 5 pm. After 5 pm I wrote an email asking if they had a way to track shipping (all it showed was "shipped"). Recieved a response that they had forwarded it to the distribution center. The Next morning I called to see if I could get clarification on delivery time. I was told I would have to contact the manufacturer. I called back and was told I would have to contact the delivery company, but that it should be there because they deliver on saturdays too. Monday morning I call again and am told that the issue has been "escalated" and I would be called with a delivery time that day. End of the day Office Depot calls and says that they are still waiting to hear from their delivery company. Tuesday I cancel the order. I am given a cancellation "request" number. Late afternoon the Delivery company calls to set up a delivery time for FRIDAY. I tell them the order has been cancelled. I receive an email from Office Depot's useless customer service department saying that I do not understand their shipping methods. So it went from the Manufacturer, distributor, delivery service, and finally MY fault. Received an email this morning (2 weeks after the order was placed) to see if I had received my items. Called them and they don't know when I will receive my money (it's the bank's fault now). Different stories each contact, and still no money. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE IDIOTS."

"Bought a keyboard, was assured by sales associate # 605257 that when i bought the extended warranty for 13$ that all i would have to do was set up my warranty online or call them. When i asked again to be sure that all i had to do was bring back the keyboard to the store and they would replace it, he ASSURED me thats all i had to do. a few days ago (1-28-12) the "L" key broke off, so i took the keyboard back to office depot. the sales associate told me firmly that no, they dont replace the item there, and that i had to go back online, or call them to have a shipping label sent to my email.. so i could print out a shipping label myself, box up the product myself, and then send it to them back through the mail and wait for the new one to arrive. When i complained about employee #604257 and told them i was quite upset over all this hassle, and could they PLEASE make sure their employees are trained in warranty knowledge, I gave the associate employee number of the person who assured me that i only needed to bring it back to the store, he didnt even write it down, or get a store manage to help me. he just said "NEXT" and that was that. I will NEVER go back to any office depot again,"
"This company is a JOKE. We ordered a cordless mouse online. Unfortunately it did not work with my current corldess keyboard. There were no instructions on how to return it so I went to the local Office Depot Store in Union NJ. I was told by the clerk at the check out counter that they don't accept returns on online orders. I asked to speak to a manager. She refused to come to the counter to speak to me. I have never seen such poor customer service in my life. I can guarantee you that this company will be out of business before the end of 2012, and deservedly so. "
"I ordered a 3TB seagate 7200RPM hard drive as part of a home server computer to be built for my family for Christmas. After looking over all of the day after thanksgiving sales ads I decided that Office Depot had the best deal. I was originally surprised because it was going to take 3 weeks to ship. All the other components also ordered online were going to arrive within 1 week. Two months later it still had not arrived. The "customer service" representative had no more access to information than I did on the website and was absolutely worthless. She offered to send an e-mail to have the situation "investigated" 1 week later I was told that the item was on back order and there was no ETA. Great why couldn't I have gotten that information 2 months ago? In addition the item is still available for order not labeled backordered on thier website!!! My options were to wait or cancel. Great ones. Not only had I been waiting 2 months but I also missed out on the great day after thanksgiving sales from other retailers. So I cancelled and will never order from them or visit their stores again."
"About the only thing these clowns have going for them is that they might get confused for superior retailers (e.g., Office Max, Home Depot, etc.). As in a bad relationship, they string you along with the hope that something great is about to happen until finally...you're left with nothing. I ordered a Seagate NAS system from them on 11/24/2011. The item was listed "in stock", which was apparently based on the guesswork of a pretend computer system (think Les Nessman from "WKRP in Cincinnati" beating his chest to create a fake helicopter). Days later, the item was suddenly on backorder. I stuck it out for over a month based on the PROMISE of a highly-discounted price on the item. In the end, they reavealed what appeared to be one big lie and canceled my order after the "issue couldn't be resolved". They must've thought I was dumb enough to purchase other items while I waited for them to come through on a PROMISE that was never kept.
Their lack of professionalism is appalling."
"Terrible experience. I ordered a panasonic plasma tv on December 16th. I was told it would be delivered on December 23rd between 9am and 5pm. I called at 4pm and they said it was an estimate. They said they would check the status and get back to me within 4 hours. They never did. I bought the item at Sears. A week later, the order status is listed as 'Cancelled by Customer". that is a lie. "

"Office Depot was having a sale on reams of paper for $.049. I ordered 20 reams and received confirmation. I then received a back order notification. I called and was assured I would receive this item on November 28, 2011.
Today, after still not receiving my order, I called customer service and was told my order was cancelled. NO one ever notified me of a cancellation. When I called and asked to speak to a supervisor as to why my order was cancelled, he said that someone put the wrong price on line and they cancelled everyone's order, but I could order something else and be given a small discount, not one equal to what I had ordered and that I should not expect to get my order at the price listed because it was too low. This is an unfair business practice. Also it could be considered as a "bait and switch." It is ridiculous that Office Depot would not honor an order, and would not have the courtesy to tell me the order was cancelled. I have been waiting every day for delivery and I could have just ordered elsewhere. I will never consider ordering from Office Depot again."
"I placed a large order on November 3rd 2011 that I needed by Saturday evening on the 5th. Delivery was guaranteed to be on Friday November 4th by 5pm. It was a residential delivery so I waited at home all day. No one knocked on the door or rang the doorbell, delivery was not even attempted. Delivery status on my order says "98 Closed Building". NOT HARDLY!
Called customer service, got a rep in India of course, no real customer service there. I requested that the order be canceled. The CS rep said that it couldn't be canceled, that the entire order would sit on the 3rd party carrier MobileCast delivery truck until next Monday! Unacceptable!
So now, not only do I have to purchase duplicates of the needed items elsewhere, I also have to stay at home all day Monday to refuse the delivery if they ever decide to show up!
I have been a customer of Office Depot for over 15 years, but their service has greatly declined in the last couple of years. I will NEVER buy from Office Depot again, there are many companies out there with better service and prices than Office Depot."
"Office Depot was having a promotion on customized post it notes. I went to their website to design and order mine, and the app for designing them was largely broken.
Even though it allows you to add a logo, it doesn't show up on the preview as it's supposed to.
Some times the text adds an extra space or deletes a character from the preview.
Well, I do what I can with it and order 13 so that the price is high enough to use my promotional discout.
I get a call today saying that it can only be ordered in increments of 10, even though their site allows you do it differently.
What do you know? if I order only 10, he won't give me the discount. If I order 20, it's not a good deal.
And I don't have the cancellation email yet. As far as I can tell, they don't send one.
