"2 orders, twice wrong, nothing but pain in returns. I'm done with you."
"The following is a copy of the complaint I just filed with Office Depot:
My husband and I ordered a HON® 310-Series 5-Drawer Letter File, Black (989467), Order #562857306-001, on April 28, 2011. Upon arrival, the filing cabinet had a large dent, so we decided to return it with the intention of purchasing another one.
On May 9th, when we called to schedule pick-up of the item, we received conflicting dates from Office Depot and the third-party delivery service utilized by Office Depot, May 10th and May 23rd. It was picked-up from our apartment by the third-party delivery service on May 10, 2011, return confirmation 563815589-001.
We were waiting for the refund to go through before purchasing a replacement filing cabinet. When the refund to our credit card had not been processed on May 23rd we contacted Office Depot customer service and were informed that their information indicated our item was scheduled for pick-up that day. It took speaking to several different people to explain that the order had already been picked up and that we were given two pickup dates. Customer service then provided Service Request Number 2025253, told us the request was put in with the Office Depot Resolutions Team and to anticipate a refund within three business days.
When the three days passed without a refund, we contacted customer service again on Tuesday, May 31st to follow-up. We were told the “research team” is working on our case and given the same response to expect a refund within three business days. Today is June 3, 2011 and we still have not received the refund to our credit card. In the meantime, we have purchased the replacement item from a competitor.
I have done a lot of business with Office Depot in the past, especially while I was a school teacher. I wanted to inform you that because of this incident we will no longer being doing business here. I have been grossly underwhelmed by the customer service we received, and we still have not been refunded $399.99 (+S&H) for an item that we returned nearly a month ago.
If our money is not refunded in a timely fashion I will be following up in small claims court. Thank you for your attention to this matter."
"I found a small computer desk for our son on the Office Depot website and it showed being in stock. Called the store and was told it was in stock. Drove to the store immediately and found out the only 'stock' was the damaged floor model. The manager wouldn't come talk to us and wouldn't offer a discount. The floor person didn't offer to tell us when more would be coming in or seem to care, but when we asked for the corporate number started explaining that the floor model was technically 'in stock'. When we got home checked the website and suddenly it showed as being out of stock."
"Their online order system is screwed up. They won't understand the difference between shipping and billing addresses, and mix them up. You'll have to call up the customer service rep and sort things out every time you order, which takes a long time to get on the phone. When I called customer support supervisor to ask to correct their website, they told me that the addresses need to be typed in a certain order or billing address will automatically override, and they told me to talk to the online development team to get the proper training. I don't need to be trained to order $100 worth of office supplies once in a while. What a waste of time."
"Aweful customer service. Cancelled an order and called few times afterwards to confirm but still got a shipping notification email later that night. Called OD immediately, was assured it would not be shipping to me but got phone call from shipping company next day about delivery schedule. Called again OD, was told only option is to refuse delivery or call OD after receiving to have them pick it up. Asked to talk to supervisor, finally the supervisor was nice enough to ask shipper's no and call them directly to cancel shipment and even called me back to let me know. What an memorable experience!"
"Got a great deal for a corner desk online. Missed my pickup date and the store in Plano, TX still held it for me. When I arrived, they even helped me load it into the truck. Excellent service."

"Super customer service. I forgot to add promotional codes to my order and according to Office Depot policies, I shouldn't have gotten the discounts. Customer service helpped with the problem, the canceled my order and reorderd it A bit of a hassle, but I was pretty happy overall."
"I bought a GPS and charger today. GPS had a red label put on it (exchange only if opened) and charger did not. Went to my car and charger was broken when opened. Went back into the store and was told no return only exchange. There was no other brand or device other than the one purchased. Was forced to exchange for the same charger. DOES NOT WORK!!!!!! This is wrong! Every item should get the red label....I would have never shopped here for my items. Now going out of town in the morning for work and I have a $20 charger that does NOT work!!!!!!!!!! "

I ordered a phone from their website and they cancelled my order without even telling me. I emailed their 'customer service' and was given the runaround by 3 different people.
I can't say enough bad things about Office Depot and their lack of "customer service"."

Ordered External HDD from them on 03.09. Picked - store pickup. Checked - it's available.
So Received an e-mail from them saying that it's all good and i should receive details on how and when to pick it up.
Waiting, waiting, waiting. Today decided to call store manager. They told me that they r out of stock and they just canceled my order without informing me. F GREAT!
Went online right after this conversation - checking availability - It still says in stock, checking availability for this particular store - still available. Freaking great service guy! No way i would shop in Office Depot again!"
"Wow, my story is like many others. Ordered a laptop that was in stock then became unavailable several days later. Don't they have any concept of inventory control? No notice, just silence. I call to find out why it didn't ship and was told (1) it would ship on time then (2) it will ship a few days late then (3) oops... we really don't have any to sell. Their solution was to try to sell me a laptop with a 2" smaller screen, inferior processor and, by the way, $100 more. They do not have customer service, Office Depot specializes in customer disservice. Never again! There are other choices, spend your time and money elsewhere. "
"I placed a order on black Friday for a Height-Adjustable Mobile Laptop Cart for half the retail price and with discounted coupon. Purchased shows back-ordered; but when store restocked their item, they still denied to ship my order. Customer support denied my order and told me to re-order the same item again for the full retail price. Office Deport is lame and will not do business with them again."
"I attempted to return this printer stand for 10 days. After countless phone calls, mostly to someone who spoke Gibberish English, multiple Emails, I FINALLY did get a return label. I had to take the package to the carrier. Then I was not even sure if the package had been returned. Returns are Next To Impossible!!!! "

Their tracking is telling me my order was suppose to have been delivered yesterday, but i have not even received it yet. i've called their customer service number over 10 times and they are absolutely NO help whatsoever! they are very unprofessional and very rude. i will stick with newegg.com from now on when ordering online."
