"I contacted opticsplanet after nearly two weeks passed without receiving any notice that my order had even shipped. My first call I was connected with someone who was nice and polite but seemed as clueless as I was. They could only tell me that my item was back ordered, that I was one of the first in line, and that I should receive a notice when it shipped, which I was told would be an additional two weeks... (sounded like he was guessing to me) regardless I understand the situation was out of their hands but made me second guess my purchase at that point.

I never received that email notice that the item shipped but what made up for it was a follow up from a different representative who advised me that my item was now apparently discontinued. I was offered the new version (2nd gen) at the price intended to pay for the first gen. I took them up on it and recieved the new product in a very reasonable time after that. Good follow up to a bad situation.
