"Fast shipping and quick order confirmation / shipping email. I received a Panasonic KX-TG5212M cordless phone a few days after ordering on-line. Only grip is that the phone came bubble wrapped not in a factory retail box. It looked a little used or possibly returned. The phone howerver, works great. "

"I have been waiting since feb 10 for a refund to my credit card. Their customer service reps apologize and tell me that "someone will contact me within a couple of days." There should be no reason why I am waiting this long for the refund. And why should I have to now pay the restocking fee and the pay interest from my credit card on an item I don't even own? I don't recommend overstock.com to anyone.

It is May 13 and I have contacted them 3 times in the past two days. They said they needed me to go to the post office to prove that I sent my package back to them. I did so, and they said to fax it to them. I do now own a fax machine, so I went to Staples and paid $3.25 to have it done. When I called them they said they gave me the wrong fax number and to resend it. I am not paying another $3.25 for their mistake. I also paid $3.50 for the receipt from the post office to have faxed. So all in all, I am now paying $30 for an item I just want refunded to my card. And by the way, no one contacted me, I had to contact them to follow-up. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau and I have contacted my credit card company. Next step is my friend who is a lawyer and a few other people "up there."

" Unbelievable prices on the two dvd's I ordered, after shipping prices and all I couldn't find then cheaper even used. I ordered a cheapo knife and utensil set that was exactly that cheapo but no complaints at all.

"I ordered some DVDs and books. They apparently shipped at the end of the next business day but USPS media mail took 9 days to ship it across the country. Although I saved around $2 compared to amazon, amazon ships from a warehouse in Nevada so those orders get to me within a day or two after shipping (although amazon sometimes sits on the order for a few days). So I will probably just order from amazon next time unless the savings are much better."

"I placed an order during their spring sale 15$ off any order over 150. The 15$ off never showed up. I contacte their customer service and was told that a 10% off $100,000 coupon blocked the 15$ off 150$ coupon. 10% off $100,000?? yes, you did not read wrong. Of course I have nowhere to get such a coupon and apply it to my order. It's solely their system mistake or trick. Yet they refuse to refund the 15$ and refuse to cancle my order. And if I want to return the order, I have to receive and sign my package first (yes, no refusing package and having the carrier sent it back to them, coz the CS person told me that the warehouse will send it back to me again at my cost), ask for a RMA number, pay a 15% restocking fee and pay to send it back again. Moreover, since my order included a memory foam matress top, which they refuse return unless it's damaged. So what they are saying is: yes, we are cheating and you have to eat it. Hahaha!!"

"DO NOT BUY FROM THEM - It's a trap!

Although they have TV commercials and a fancy looking website, these people are the MOST crooked I have dealt with on the net or on the street!!!

Before I get into my deal, this is the trap. They get you to order with them, once you place the order, mysterioulsy NO ONE has the power to get into a computer a cancel it. They get rude and disrespectful just for you wanting to cancel. You cannot cancel, but you can return it - at YOUR cost of shipping and a restocking fee! This is a trap and scam! If an item has not shipped, they make you do this. If it has not shipped and you did not get it, why go through all of the trouble of returning it and paying these fees for anything other than their trying to make extra dollars?

PLEASE, do not order anything with Paypal from these people! They will only give you STORE CREDIT! In other words, this store is designed to not let you part with your money for nothing. You would think that they were baseheads. Even low down people on Ebay or the streets give you an option to not buy. This place says that you have to buy and changing your mind is not an option!

I ordered some amp cable kit($32). They claimed that they get them out fast. It was ordered on 4/01/05 and it is now 4/05/05 and it still has yet to ship! They say it could ship within the next few days! Then I find out it ships from CA, which mean a another five day wait AFTER it ships! I wait at least three weeks or so to get something I thought would take a few days!

They declined to cancel the order. They did not ship the order. They will not give me updated shipping for free. I can get this from some place else this week instead of waiting for these people! They lie about not being able to cancel orders. EVERY other place, low down or great can and has cancelled orders, THIS is the ONLY place that cannot do it. They got caught in many lies and there 'customer service' is nothing more than sercurity to tell you that "YOU WILL BUY from us, if you like it or not!"

I don't know what kind of company this is, but I told them that I will contact the attorney general(which I will) and I am sure that most customers will be one-time customers. They claimed otherwise, but as I see on here, I am correct! If you ever had to listen to people, listen to these people! I would advise everyone else to contact the attorney general on this also. These people should not be in business!

Update: After reading other reviews, it is more than clear that this is their pratice. I did not even get my order yet, but now I am expecting it to be the wrong order so that they can set me up to collect the restocking fees. It seems as if this is how they make the returns on their low prices! Now why also now why they are called OVERSTOCK.com!

I would also adivse against putting anything on their auctions as non-paying bidders (Overstock bids?) do not get in trouble and they only give you CREDIT for your monetary loss for non-paying bidders! That does not help YOU! You put things on auction to make money, not to give it away. If you must auction it off, use Ebay. We cannot say enough about had horrible Overstock is. I still cannot believe that a company would go sa far to get it's name out there would be nothing more than a hustling company!!!

"Although I've had good luck ordering from Overstock, their return policy is a joke.

Here's the story, my PDA went MIA and Overstock had the best deal on a replacement. I order a Zire 72 next-day air from them. I get the pda next day, works for 2 days and then kaput, won't power on, won't do a thing.

I then procede to contact Overstock's "customer service" department and am told they will send a call tag to me via e-mail, then resend a new product and the process should take 10 days, however they would "put a rush" on it since I need the pda for work.

After 12 days, I finally receive the call tag, a week after they received the product, I called to find out what was going on. I'm told its in "processing" and should be ~1 week for me to receive a replacement. Two weeks after this discussion, I recontact their customer service department (this time through their live chat.. what a joke that is, sending ads as they chat with you), I'm then told that the return has been processed and they will process the refund within two weeks.

So basically, instead of having another PDA within 10 days (probably faster due to the "rush"), I should have a refund after nearly two months.

Oh, and I forgot, they are refunding the pda cost and the shipping, but not the extended warranty, but I can "move that to another pda if I'd like to purchase one".
