"Purchase "sent" lost in mail. No money, no package."
"I ordered a refurbished HP PSC 2110 printer from them on May 12, 2003. After a few days of no e-mails from them, I finally called their customer service hotline today to see what was going on with the order. According to their representative "Luke", they seem to use their own method of shipping to save on "zone" costs when transporting inventory from state to state and informed me that they're taking the printer to some other state to a fed ex drop-off site and I should expect the printer by May 27, 2003. This is ridiculous since the expected method of shipping was supposed to be via fed ex ground and that never takes longer than 3-5 days! If you order from this company, beware of sketchy delivery methods! If/when I do receive the printer, I'll update again.
*****UPDATE*****
The package was shipped and arrived to on 5/15 and while the box was beat up, the printer was in excellent condition. However, overstock's flakey computer system did not properly put my full address (cut off my apt. number) on the box but fortunately fed ex delivered the package to my apt. complex's office. When I asked another rep. to clarify their shipping policies, she said that they only use the "zone" method of transporting goods to another state's fed ex drop-off site when shipping items far off in the east coast. So if you're in California, you'll be in luck since their warehouse is here and you should get the package within 2 days via fed ex ground but if not, then expect a much longer wait. Overall my experience has been satisfactory. That said, overstock *does* have good customer representatives and good prices. "
"Purchased "open box" "like new" PDA which looked like it was dropped and was hardly "like new." Had a piece of plastic chipped off and a crack. Generally overall I've had so-so experience with purchasing factory-reconditioned items: gamepad, mouse, steering wheel, and dig. cam. all arrived in like new condition within a week. But the PDA and also a microwave arrived in subpar condition, very dirty and filled with dead insects. So from now on, I think I'm sticking to purchasing only new low cost accessories if anything at all."
"Made an order, but never received confirmation email. Checked online, and there's no order history for my new account. I did have a congrat page for the completion of my order. Won't be messing with this site again, as all I have received since my order is an email nearly every stinking day from these guys about what's on sale!"
"After the experience I had with Overstock.Com, I am surprised to see the low rating for them here.
I saw an ad on Half.Com for $10.00 off an XBox system, tried to order it but the link was dead for the special coupon. I tried to place an order for the XBox, but the coupon didn't come up automatically either, I called Overstock's customer service to tell them about the dead link, and the agent setup the coupon while I was on the phone with my order on on the screen of my computer. The agent told me to refresh the page, and when I did the coupon was already up.
The customer service agent was VERY nice and EXTREMELY helpful.
Apparently, the order was shipped out a day later and I received the XBox yesterday.
As an added bonus, my XBox came with a free game for my troubles with the online order. VERY COOL.
I HIGHLY recommend Overstock.Com. "
"Ordered a quilt awhile back. Excellant quality and the best price around. Just ordered a pair of Danner hiking shoes. Half off retail for these new name brand shoes. I check overstock.com before I buy anything now. Good prices but not a wide selection. Easy pay with PayPal and no shipping woes. Satisfied costomer so far."
"They mistakened the Promedias list price and made me thought it was the Promedia 4.1 but it was actually the v2.400 and they used promedia 4.1 pictures to advertise the product. I emailed them and they just told me that Buy.com was selling the same product but higher price, avoiding the fact that it was their error.
Shipping took long.
I'm not doing business with them again."
"Placed an order for a monitor. Subsequently received an E-mail that stated the order was cancelled as Overstock tried to contact me. The E-mail was sent at 19:51. When I contacted overstock the next day at 08:00, the product was sold out. The Overstock represeentative did offer me another monitor for $100 more. Sound a little like bait & switch?
I will do no business with overstock. "
"I needed some Micron CT32M64S4D7E 256MB PC133 memory, so I Google searched for some. Shopping.com showed that Overstock.com had the best price on it. I ordered it, but then I noticed that the order didn't have the Micron part number on it; it only had the general spec of 256MB PC133 on the order. I thought that that wasn't too good for me, if I received memory that wasn't exactly what I searched for, so a few minutes afer I placed the order, I sent E-mails to two E-mail addresses that Overstock listed, requesting that they cancel the order if it wasn't the Micron CT32M64S4D7E that I wanted. The next day, they E-mailed me, saying that it was too late to cancel the order, as it had already been shipped. They also said that they didn't know if what they sent was part number CT32M64S4D7E. They had their own part number, and couldn't cross it to Micron's number. I suspect that Shopping.com doesn't dream up places to carry specific items. They probably are told by the retailers, what the retailer has for sale. Soon, one of their people E-mailed me,and said that they checked into it, and that their memory, and Micron's CT32M64S4D7E are "one and the same". I was somewhat relieved. Anyway, the memory came. It didn't have anything identifying it as Micron or Crucial, and it wasn't labeled as being CT32M64S4D7E , either. It looked quite generic, and was poorly wrapped in a scrap of static protective plastic and some rubber bands. I would have been satisfied if it had exactly the same specs as Micron, though. To test it, I took all the memory out of my PC, and installed one stick of Micron CT32M64S4D7E memory in it, which I had previously bought directly from Micron. It worked fine. Then I removed that one, and installed Overstock's memory. My computer wouldn't even boot. Same thing with the other stick. I tried putting the genuine article back in, then adding the Overstock memory. The computer booted ok, but the Overstock memory wasn't recognized by my PC. On startup, my PC checks how much memory is installed, and it only showed the Micron memory, but not the other. I contacted Overstock.com, and sent jpg's of true Micron memory, and of what they sent me. They said that what they sent to me was OEM Micron memory, which was why it didn't have Micron's name and part number on it, and they apologised for sending me defective memory. I did get free shipping from them, for returning it. I just shipped it back the other day. If all goes well, I'll get a full refund. "
"bought some pro-medias 4.1s. shopping was painless, and shipping was wicked fast. Although the site could be much more 'friendly'"
"I bought a Panasonic SC-HT67 5-Disc DVD Home Theater System, the delivery was really fast and everything arrived in excellente conditions. I will like to recommend overstock to any that want good prices and fast delivery!!"
"The guys at the warehouse are idiots. I ordered one of their last Ti500 cards for $80 (after discounts) and after taking FOREVER to ship, I ended up with some cheap 16MB Viper card. These guys can't even ship anything other than ground from this warehouse, what kind of crap is that?
This will be my last purchase from these guys unless there's something I absolutely can't resist because aside from the idiots that handle shipping, the slow process and delivery make the pain even worse."
"I ordered a Farberware 18-quart Electric Roaster as a gift for my son-in-law on 12/22/02. It arrived shortly after the beginning of the new year. I don't recall the exact date. For various reasons, I was unable to deliver it to him until 2/11/03 when he opened it. Supposedly this was a new item according to their web advertisement, but it was dented in several places, was dirty, had grease on it, and there was a line of rust on it. This morning I went to the website about 11 AM and saw that according to their policy I was unable to return it. They figured that I'd had enough time to examine it I guess. I emailed them anyway. The item was obviously used, but it wasn't advertised as such. So as of 4 PM, I haven't heard back from them. Like several other reviewers have commented, their customer service is hardly outstanding.

"Both my monitor and computer arrived in excellent condition in 5 business days. Set them up and checked specifications and all was as advertised. Have been running system for a couple days and have found no problems. The refurbished merchandise looked to be repackaged as new.
Ordered a 17 inch flat panal monitor and tracking shows it is in town, so hopefully Fedex will deliver it tommorrow. This was the first time I ordered something from a company without reviewing it resellerrating first... wish me luck. I also order a refurbished Sony VAIO and am awaiting delivery on that also. I will post again when I recieve the products."
"Great price, reasonable shipping time, no troubles. Would do business with again."
