"I ordered from this company on the 17th & 18th of Jan. 2007. The took the money from my credit card right-a-way. As of February 5th, I have not seen my products. I can not get them to reply to my e-mails nor will they answer the telephone. Invoice #2050413 & #2049960

I have filed a petition with the LA County DA's office as well as the LA County Dept. of Consumer Affairs.

Worst on-line experience I have ever had.

"It would appear that Page Computers is circling the bowl. I've ordered from them several times in the past with good success. However, my latest experience seems to confirm what other reviewers have written. The scenario is consistent: Order taken, email confirmation received, card charged, order status "In Process" and then .... Nothing!! It has proven to be impossible to get a customer service rep on the phone ("Due to heavy call volume ..."). Repeated emails go unanswered. The item I'm currently waiting for, an Abit motherboard, was listed as being in stock and $88 when I ordered it on 1/22. Since the order was placed, stock status has changed to "No" and (most interestingly) price has skyrocketed to an absurd $283. I don't know what's going on with this outfit but I do know that I won't be ordering from them again. For the few Dollar difference, I should have stuck with Newegg."

"Ordered a processor Jan 21st. They charged my credit card immediately. Several days later,I e-mailed them as to the status of the order. Several days after that I received a reply stating the part was backordered. I checked their website, the part I ordered was listed with a price increase of approx $200 and in stock. I cancelled the order. That was on Jan. 29th via e-mail and have not yet received verification of my request. "

"I placed an order for an HP Laserjet P2015 Printer on 1/17/07. They showed the printer was in stock at the time I ordered it. I received an order acknowledgement email on 1/17/07. They processed my credit card on 1/18/07. As of 1/31/07 they have NOT shipped the printer nor will they answer their phones, return messages left or answer emails sent. I have ordered from them many times in the past and this is the first time I've ever had a problem. It looks like something has happened to this company as there are my complaints with orders placed in January. All the same complaint, order placed, credit card processed and order NOT shipped.

On 1/31/07, I filed a complaint with the Los Angeles Area Better Business Bureau at www.labbb.org.

"Don't buy anything from this Merchant!!! They lie. They don't have the items in stock and try to get the orders. I placed an order on 01/19/07. A week past by, the order still in "PROCESS". Called CSR 10 times. No person picked up the phone and kept hanging up. No email whatsoever! I kept calling everyday until I got the person and was told the item is "OUT OF STOCK". That's all. BUT!!! they still post on the website that the item is in stock with the new much higher price!!! Customers PLEASE BE AWARE!!!"

"This posting sounds like a broken record. Buyers BEWARED! I ordered something from thier website that was listed as in stock. They billed my credit card that day. Several days went by the order was still in PROCESS. I called; they stated the product was not in stock (Although it was still listed as in stock on the website!!!). Over the phone, I canceled the order, they confirmed with an email, but did not reimburse my credit card. They don't answer the emails and rarely the phone. The exact same thing happened to my office mate, I feel bad because I wish I could have warned him. Consider yourself warned!"

"DO NOT SHOP HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!! I purchased an item on 1/20/07. My credit card was charged 1/22/07. I checked on the order on 1/26/07 and my order status was in process. Most online retailers do not charge the credit card until the item is shipped so I sent an email to customer service, no response. The next business day 1/29/07 I called customer service. Could not get through to a live person, told to send an email, which I did. Received an email the next business day and was informed there was an "inventory issue" and the item would be shipped directly from the manufacturer. I called again and was again told no one could speak to me, send an email. The item is still for sale on their website showing "in stock". However, the selling price is 43% higher than the price I paid. It is my opinion that (a) they don't want to complete my purchase at the lower price, and (b) they want to string me along until it is too late to dispute the charge with my credit card company if necessary. I have sent a third email asking for a confirmed shipping date, but I am not hopeful. This retailer does not adhere to responsible business practices. There are many other retailers I can choose and I will do so in the future."

"I think Page Computers is doing a crash and burn. I've ordered from them successfully in the past, but just had the credit card company reverse a $2500 charge for 6 computers. They showed "shipped" but without listing any tracking numbers, therefore, the status was incorrect. They immediately charged for the product. I was never able to make voice contact or get an email reply. My only recourse was to submit a claim with the credit card company.

For those who get shipments, consider yourself lucky (they were good and fast in the past). If you don't get your shipment, you may need to turn to your credit card company, and if this keeps happening, their accounts will surely get suspended, and down they go.

"I had previously ordered a camera bag from this store in June 2006, and had no problems with that, which is why I felt confident to order a Canon Rebel XTi DSLR with kit lens from them this time around.

It has been 8 days and the order still says "in process", however, they did very efficiently charge my credit card the day after I placed the order. I called their customer service line as well as their sales line to see if I could cancel the order. After being on hold for maybe 2 or 3 minutes, both times I got a recording that told me to use their online form to contact them, and then the system hung up on me. I used the contact form as well as a direct cancellation e-mail, and the automated e-mails read as follows -

From customer service:
"This automated message confirms that your email to Page Computers Customer Service has been received. However, due to technical problems and with a number of emails sent to us, we may have a delay in responding to your inquiries. Please rest assured that we will get back to your concerns the soonest time possible."

From the cancellation department:
"Page Computers is currently experiencing outages with our data lines due to events beyond our control. We are unable to answer emails at this time. Please allow additional time for email responses over the next few days."

I will wait to see what transpires in the next 48 hours before making a final judgement and / or calling my credit card company to reject payment of this charge.

*update 1/31/07: Page Computers responded to my e-mail today with the following:

"This is to inform you that we have been able to cancel the order and the item will not be shipped.

If there has been an authorization number from the Bank for the charge prior to your cancellation
request, we will void the authorization or reverse the charges."

I will update when the charge is reversed; as of now it has not yet been done.

Also, I see that the item I was trying to purchase is now priced on their website as about 18% higher.

*update 2/01/07: I just now received an e-mail from customer service (apparently separate from the cancellation department, who sent me the above e-mail) reading:

"Thank you for contacting page computers.

We apologize for the delay response of your email because we are updating our website and some of our system is affected on it.

Let me inform you that the packaged has ship out already via USPS with a tracking number xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx, you check it on line at www.usps.com and the only process to cancel it is by refusing the packaged during the delivery on it, So that it would be return to our distributors warehouse and once its confirmed delivered thats the time we could process refunding your account.

If you have further concerns feel free to call us and we are glad to assist."

So I called. After 2 minutes of being on hold the system told me to e-mail them and hung up on me again. Also you will notice that the wording and punctuation in the e-mail above is rather poor. Also, according to my account info on the website, my order is still "in process".

I checked usps.com to track my package. There isn't any information on the package yet, meaning that it was sent out very recently.

I just tried calling again, this time with a specific extension number of the person who sent the e-mail saying that the order could be cancelled, and was able to leave a voice message.

*update 2/02/07: Another e-mail, from cancellation:

"Thank you for contacting us.

The distribution informed us that they ran out of stock
for this item and they cannot give any ETA yet.
That's the reason why we have forwarded this order
to them for shipment ages ago and they weren't able
to have this shipped out.

Please be informed that your order was canceled as requested.

Any charges will be voided or reversed.

Your account will be credited within the next 5-7 business days.
Please allow this length of time for us to process and for your financial institution
to update the change to your account.

You will be notified via email once a credit has been sent to your account."

We shall see.

*update 2/12/07: As of 2/07/07, they indeed credited my account within 5 days of the above e-mail. I suppose this makes me somewhat likely to buy something from them again, although this whole experience was rather frustrating, and I will probably not be making major electronics purchases from them ever again.

Also, they finally changed the status of my order on the "My Account" page to "Canceled".

"Yet another negative review here. I ordered something from them years ago and was satisfied, wish I'd checked their current ratings before ordering this time!
Placed order on the 17th, saw CC charge on the 19th but didn't get any confirmation of shipment. Since then I've tried to call numerous times with no answer, (and no way to leave voicemail, it just rings and rings until you get the telco recording saying nobody is answering, duh!) Also emailed and used the webform several times. Only one response back via email telling me that the "in stock" item was really back ordered, no responses to requests for cancellation/refund and the order still shows "In Process" many days later. Working with bank to reject the charge.

"Placed order for laser printer / all-in-one. No communication from vendor. Charge appears instantly on credit card. Six weeks later, I am notified that refund is being issued. No reason is given, order status online says "Cancelled." Yet, they held onto my money for 6 weeks and 2 credit card billing periods will go by! AVOID THIS PLACE!"

"I placed an online order for a product 'in stock' the morning of Jan 18. My card was billed on the 19th. On the 22nd my order status indicated 'in process. I sent online inquiry on the 22nd which has still not been answered. Today is the 25th. Order still shows 'in process'. I called Cust Service during their business hours and there was no answer. My call went to phone mail but could not be recorded because the mail box was full. I recalled several times and selected all options available - Sales, Customer Service, Operator - and all rang without answer. "
