"Ive had several bad experiences with pay pal customer service but the most recent example is the charges for confirming my bank account and cards which were never refunded. I was supposed to be refunded within 24 hours, 2 weeks later no refund. They NEVER respond to email, and i ended up using Facebook messenger. After a week or so of messaging back and forth and listening to their automated spiel ("you are such an important member of the paypal family" etc) they told me that they could in no way help or access my account. A refund apparently must have been issued and that was that. Why not tell me that in the first place to save a weeks worth or frustrating messaging. They said that i would have to call paypal uk. Well i did and to cut a long story short, got nowhere at all. Their telephone service is equally as terrible. So I've given up on getting the charges back altogether and will continue to post bad reviews everywhere i can to warn people. "

"PayPal decided now that any amount I run for over $500 in a week will be held for 30 days. I have had my account for nearly four years, I had a card reader 3 years ago and did not have a hold. Now they say my account is new and that is why there is a hold. I told them to release the money or I would cancel my account and go with a different Payment processing company. Now there is a hold on my account and I have no access at all. Hold my money for 30 days is bad enough but now holding my account hostage has to be illegal but they say it was in my agreement"

They take very high comission and hold your money?? Worst option for payments or for receive payments."
"My experience with PayPal has been nothing but a disaster. I have had problems with my account and have called 3-4 times to chase for an answer to which they have told me "it will be answered within 24 hours" and I have emailed several times more than that. They have no time for customers - you wait 30 minutes on hold and when you do finally get someone to answer the phone, you're rushed through your questions and treated like you should already know the answers.
If I didn't need a PayPal account, I genuinely wouldn't have one. They are a terrible company and I wouldn't recommend them to anybody!!!!"
"So, about two years ago I had an account with Paypal that I used for occasional sale here and there among friends and to pay my mother for car payments at the time. After 3 years of consistent use of their services, I started selling on eBay.
Every single transaction went smoothly. Until I sold more than $500... Of course, they stamped a fat limitation on my account and i couldn't fulfill the orders given that I didn't have the additional funds to send the item to Indonesia. Low and behold, 5 accounts later I've learned from my MISTAKE of dealing with their **** services and will NEVER use them again. Thanks for destroying your own reputation PayPal by making it a PAIN IN THE **** to refund a buyer now with the new layout, and for reporting me for suspicious activity, when I'm a TEENAGER selling video game consoles to friends! It bothers me that my actual BANK lets me do whatever I want with my funds on a STANDARD, non US business checkings account but PayPal's "systems" **** themselves if you sell a pair of shoes. Gotta love it. Also, I am completely on board with the ideas that they are capitalizing on interests. "
"Paypal is a bunch of rotten corporate scumbags. They are in a huge rush to take their cut of the money which is way too much to begin with but they are in no rush to release your funds even though you fullfilled your obligations. They should make customers aware aware of the exact waiting process to begin with. I do not sell items on ebay. I sold a single item to pay some bills unfortunately it was a waste of time as paypal and ebay both took an astronomical amount of the funds before I received my funds I will not ever do business with either ebay or paypal again they are getting rich off the backs of poor and working class people and frankly it is extremely pathetic.."
"Live and learn....I needed a fancy work computer and made the unfortunate decision to purchase a used Surface Pro 4 from an Ebay Dealer....Turns out the unit was a bogus attempt to hide a very badly damaged unit. After almost a month of back and forth with eBay and Paypal, even having Microsoft write a full documented report of the cover-up attempt, I received word this morning that Paypal had sided with the merchant and there would be no return or refund for my $800 purchase. They did say I could appeal, so this evening I went back to the Mircosoft store to meet with the Store Manager to get yet another evaluation of the fraudulent purchase. Only things didn't turn out that way, Mircosoft didn't want to write another evaluation, they had decided they wanted to make things right and refund me the amount this unit cost when it was new...$1250! I said but that's way more than what I paid for the damaged unit, she said I know use it to buy extra protection for your new one ( I bought a brand new one from them for only $899) They even gave me the student discount! Way to go Microsoft!!!! I have learned a lesson never buy anything from Ebay or use Paypal....so much for their buyer's guarantee..."
"I ordered a window air conditioner from Build.com. It was supposed to be delivered within a week. When it didn't arrive, I contacted Build, who first provided non-sensical tracking information, then, when pushed, gave me tracking information for On Trac, their shipper. On Trac first claimed that the product had been delivered to my business, which is tiny, and said that "no one had signed for it" and "nobody needed to sign for it", then they claimed that they had located the product, which had been "misdelivered" and promised that they would deliver it to me within a day. Of course, they never delivered it! They cannot provide proof of delivery because the product was never delivered. I filed a claim with Pay Pal, and you would think this would be an easy one for them to figure out. Wrong! Pay Pal took the position that providing me with bogus tracking information constituted "delivery"! If every internet bank and internet retailer acted like these jokers, NO ONE would be using e commerce today! I closed my Pay Pal account this morning.

"On December 20, 2016 I purchased an HP ProBook from a vendor on eBay and received it rather promptly within a few days. I examined it, verified Windows 10 on it was legitimate and installed a few programs before shelving it for a month. In a month after starting it up I received the following message: "Please contact the CIRC at ***-***-**** regarding this machine. This is an official US Government system which may be used only for authorized purposes. The system may contain public OCC information subject to restricted use.....criminal or administrative prosecution may occur from any use of this system". A call to the number landed me at the Cyber Security Division of the NSA and it was determined this laptop had been "misappropriated" from the NSA.
Too late to use Resolution Centre at eBay I opened case at Paypal which almost instantly was turned down. Please bear in mind I flashed the bios and reinstalled Windows several times and there is no way to use the laptop though you can reinstall Windows as this screen only comes up when triggered by something I wasn't sure did it but once up the laptop is not usable. Several appeals gave me generic answers like "we are so sorry for your issue but it does not fall under the jurisdicttion of anything Paypal can adjudicate. Really? A stolen laptop is not a reason to temrinate a sale on eBay or transaction on Paypal????? And you have no recourse because using a Mastercard or Visa, and note I did not say American Express for a reason, you cannot charge them back. Cut and dry come one come all criminals to Paypal and eBay, the water is fine and no one can stop you!!!!!"
"The customer service is terrible, they do not know their own rules and regulations. They hold your money extendedly, their computers make mistakes and the service agents are not accountable for mistakes. In my case I confirmed my email eight times and it still didn't work, then the agent finally admitted there were a large group of their clients with this problem. Eventually had to junk the account and make a new one just so it would recognize the payment I recieved, but I still couldn't get my funds! I sold something on eBay, it arrived for the buyer, and money was deposited successfully, I had to wait 6-10 days to get the money. Gee, I wonder if the owners are playing an interest game with other people's money- and charging you a fee?! I'll use the square thank you! "
