"Great prices and quick service. Received everything I ordered, as it was described. Would order from them again. Also in this day of credit card theft, I appreciated they contacted me by phone to make sure I was me."
"I shopped around for a Nikon D90 and Photo Loop had the best price. Just as important, Josh was extremely helpful in answering all my questions and putting together a package that met my needs at a very reasonable price. "
"Sent my order overnight and I received it the next businees day! All was included as I ordered. Was a great experience overall."
"PhotoLoon.com treated me like a valued customer. They did an excellent job of providing me with exactly what I wanted in a timely manner at a terrific price. I would rate them a 10 out of 10. "
"I ordered a Nikon D40 from Photo Loon because it showed up as the cheapest price when I searched Google "shopping" at $405 for the camera in the standard start-up box with a 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor lens, etc (I just checked today and Photo Loon raised their price slightly and now is 3rd, $10 behind iBuyDigital.com and ~$42 behind eCOST.com). I can't speak for the other companies that now undersell Photo Loon, but I was very happy with Photo Loon's service. I ordered the product on Wednesday afternoon and asked if they could guarantee free shipping by the following Friday (~6 business days) but I was pleasantly surprised when my box arrived on Saturday. I didn't think that "free shipping" ever meant that the company would pay for Saturday delivery!
The customer service rep was very knowledgeable. When I called back to ask what kind of SD card he was selling me, he immediately knew what the speed was, which gave me confidence that what he was selling me was indeed "High Speed" and not just a normal SD card that was labeled "High Speed" in order to drive up the price. Indeed, it was the fact that this 2GB SD card was the highest possible speed was what convinced me to pay an extra $80 to get a "package" from Photo Loon that included the SD card, a uv filter and a camera bag. In the end, I could have gotten those three items for about $35 instead of $80 if I had purchased them from 3 separate companies, but it was nice to have everything in 1 box. If you are considering shopping for the cheapest possible Nikon D40 camera and you find that Photo Loon is coming up as the cheapest, I say that you won't go wrong, though you may want to get some of the other basic components (an SD card is essential, so you'll have to find someone to sell you that) at some other vendor.
EDIT: I just had fun reading through the other reviews. I now realize that I experienced an "upsell" when I called to ask about the $405 camera. Had I not agreed to the "upsell", I think that I would have been told that my camera was "not in stock" or something. It's an interesting business model, to offer a camera that everyone wants (Nikon's D40 is a great camera!) at a price that gets you noticed on Google Shopping but that wouldn't make your company any money, then rely on "upsells" to boost your profits or "not in stock" statements for people who don't upsell, and then top it off with bribes to keep people from posting bad reviews. Very interesting! I would like to adopt this business model, but I don't think I could tell people that an item is not in stock if it really was. At any rate, I'll leave my rating as 5 stars, since they gave me good service, but next time I order from any company, I'll be more wary of the "upselling" approach!
EDIT: I just noticed that the SD card they gave me was not the "High Speed" one (45 Mb/s) that the Photo Loon guy said it was. In fact it is just Standard Speed (Transcend part number TSGSDC). I am irate! The Photo Loon guy completely lied to me. I'm changing all of my ratings to the lowest possible ones."
"Excellent transaction. Item was purchased easily online and delivered in perfect condition within the time specified. Will definitely reccomend and purchase from this site again."
"I was pretty skeptical about purchasing online from a discounter like photoloon.com for my new Nikon D90 after dealing with RogersCamera.com and their bait and switch tactics. I also received a call the day after my online purchase from photoloon.com attempting to upsell me. However, I did not upsell and purchased my D90 body for $835, no shipping charge and no tax. They even eventually sent me a tracking number for FedEx. After 9 days I received my new D90, and I am very pleased. FYI, this is a real review, I'm just guy up in Maple Grove, Minnesota."
"It was very nice experience to shop in Photoloon. I have shopped in many online vendors but photoloon stands unique with its customer service. Following up of order is really good with Photoloon. They called me day after the order and suggested some of the related accessories too...I totally satisfied with my order.
Their shipping is prompt and i recieved the product well in advance. Now my favourite website is Photoloon and i dont miss to check for new products and offers daily..."
"PHOTOLOON IS A SCAM!!!
Here is the story. I am a college student without a steady stream of income. I saved up for about 6 months to buy my very first DSLR. I read all the reviews and shopped around for the best camera and eventually found Photoloon, which offered the lowest price for the camera I wanted and they had it IN STOCK. I read all the reviews and was somewhat skeptical at first; but, since most of the reviews were positive, I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt. What a MISTAKE!
After about 10 days of waiting, I called the company to ask where my camera was. At that time, they told me that they no longer had my camera in stock and I would have to wait INDEFINITELY until they received more. About an hour later they CANCELED my order until further notice. I went back to the Photoloon site and it still reported that my camera was IN STOCK. Feeling totally helpless and like I was getting sucked into a SCAM, I rapidly searched the Internet for any notes that Photoloon was scamming them. Low and behold I came across this site that reported multiple people having the same, or similar, problems as myself. Furthermore, I was surprised by how many negative reviews were posted in the short time they have received reviews (6 months). UNBELIEVABLE, I cannot believe I was tricked.
Now, after waiting for two weeks and buying all these camera parts, I have to go buy this camera locally at a higher price and go through all my credit card statements with a fine tooth comb. Photoloon has made clear misstatements which I, and others, have relied on to our detriment. They lure you in with promises of new, cheap gear and then screw you once you are already locked-in to their SCAM. Not only has Photoloon not delivered what it promised, but now I am in a worse position than when I started!

"Based on the reviews here, I decided to give Photoloon a chance, but should have trusted my gut and stayed away. Just like some others have noted, if you don't purchase the pricey extras, your order may mysteriously go out of stock, only to be later canceled.
I was lured in by the pricing on a Sony a350 body and put in an order online. I was expecting, and in fact received, a notification to call in to "confirm" my order and shipping. I called in and spoke to someone who, as expected, tried to upsell a few accessories. I declined and was given a new order number and was told my order was in stock and going to ship that day. Sounded promising.
A week later, I still had not received a shipping confirmation (my credit card had not yet been charged either), so I decided to call in to check. After being put on hold, I was told that the camera was out of stock, but should be back in stock in a week. I was also told that if I wanted, I could go to BHphoto.com to purchase the camera directly from them (obviously only available bundled with other extras). A couple hours later I received an email indicating my order was canceled.
It would be fine if the camera was out of stock, just update the website to show that they are backordered. They did in fact update the website, but not to change the availability of the camera, but instead to change the listed price...twice. Obviously they know how to update the website, why not try updating the availability if the camera was really out of stock?
While I can only base my opinion on one experience with Photoloon, I suspect that since I did not want to pay for some overpriced accessories, my order mysteriously was changed to backordered and then canceled.
I will not be purchasing from Photoloon again, and will happily pay a little more money to have a smooth transaction and actually receive my order. "
"My first call to PhotoLoon put me in contact with a pushy salesman, whose name I do not recall. I am glad, however, that I called back and was randomly connected to Bruce, another sales representative. I appreciated the professional manner in which he handled the transaction. He was not pushy and was willing to take time to answer all questions, even those that may have been elementary. In addition, the shipping department sent out timely notice when the products were sent, giving us the ability to track the shipment. Although it has only been a few weeks since receipt of the products, we are satisfied with them, which, to the best of our knowledge at this time, meet the representations made by Nikon. I would be glad to recommend PhotoLoon to others, if ever asked. Thank you."
"Believe the bad reviews, people. If you hope ever to see the product you desire, shop elsewhere. Got the standard scam; tried to sell me an extra battery (though haphazardly), said it could take up to 11 days. 11 days later, I sent them an email and they replied saying my order is canceled. Avoid avoid avoid."
"i ordered on saturday night.
got an email sunday about calling them.
called them monday and the customer service rep didnt seem like he wanted to be at his job and didnt really help me.
and its tuesday and my credit card hasnt been billed.
not sure what is happening after reading all the reviews.
and i cant figure out how to track my order.
really bad website set up.
calling to cancel tomorrow."
"Ordered a Canon 5d II and a Canon 24-70. They sold me (on the phone) a far too expensive warranty. When I complained they offered me a battery as compensation. Still the total price is far too much.
Credit card was not possible due to the amount; therefore I did a wire transfer of the money :-(. Once they got the money, it took about a week before they shipped the order, although the site still claims all items are in stock!!!"
"I was in the market for a Nikon D90 and a friend referred me to this site. I read some reviews and the majority were good and the price was great so I went for it. I placed my order and was contacted, via phone, by a sales person in an attempt to sell me a number of accessories. Got my camera two days ago and it is a very nice camera. One thing to make note of is that they provide their own warantee. "
