"I researched the product that I wanted before searching for the best price and found Photoloon through Google Shopping. The reviews seemed acceptable, so I gave them a shot. I placed an order for a digital projector that cost $629.00 with free shipping. They called me two days later with an issue concerning my credit card. After resolving that, the customer service guy reminded me that the free shipping was 2-3 weeks and tried to upsell me on shipping.
Here was my only issue with the transaction: I opened up the website and the stated shipping cost for my desired rate (3 business days) was $26.70. The guy on the phone told me that that price was only for the shipping....there would be an additional cost of $43.28 for "handling, packaging and full insurance." Of course none of that was on the website. After sensing my hesitation, he knocked another $10 off the price. I went ahead and paid for it, because I needed it sooner, but I still feel a little cheated. I would have felt better if the entire price was listed on the website and not just added at the last minute.
I called a day later to change my shipping to make it cheaper and still ended up paying almost $50 for shipping and handling in total. The UPS part of that was a little less than $30.
The product showed up on time and was in the original box with the factory seal, but I still feel like I was cheated on the "packaging and insurance." Next time, I'll probably skip the hassle of ordering from Photo Loon and pay a little more for better service and no surprises."
"I had a mixed experience here. I ordered a Canon Powershot SX10IS here because they had the cheapest price I could find ($345 with free shipping).
After placing the order, I found it odd that I didn't immediately receive a confirmation e-mail itemizing my purchase. I've always gotten that whenever I've bought something online. (Incidentally, I just purchased the same camera online from another company and I did immediately receive such an e-mail.)
A salesman called me the next day and immediately he suggested some accessories. I took him up on the charger with batteries ($40) and a case ("on special for $20") which would add up to a total of $405. But then he shocked me by quoting a new total of $478. I immediately questioned this and he very quickly reduced it to $448 with no explanation. Now I was getting uneasy with him and said I'd like to call him back a bit later. At this point he gave yet another quote of "$429 and out the door". Again, no explanation for the new price quote. But this was still high. He added everything up for me and mentioned "shipping and insurance" to account for the difference. Say what? Web site had free shipping for the camera and surely it isn't $24 to ship a camera case and battery charger. Insurance is a few dollars at most and in any case should be optional. He had obviously been trying to play me and I didn't want to do any business with him. I told him to cancel my order and hung up.
To their credit, I did get a call from a manager there a few days later. He apologized profusely and said it should never have happened, one salesman's behavior shouldn't ruin the company, etc., then offered to send me an accessory of my choice on the house. I can't know for sure if the previous salesman's behavior is typical here, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it's not."

The "upgraded tripod" was maybe four inches tall, but it was a tripod. The upgraded spare battery broke the first time it was charged and is unusable. Get the camera as they offer good prices, but suggest getting the accessories after seeing them for yourself."
