"Powernotebooks.com is the best place you could ever buy a stock laptop or a fully customized one. They are extremely helpful and know what they are talking about. They will spend the time finding out what you will be using you laptop for and help to design your laptop around that. They wont just suggest the most expensive components like most other companies will. The most expensive parts are not always the best anyhow. They will suggest what you need and will even talk you out of going overboard if not needed to save you money. I know a fair amount about computers but learned a lot just talking to Donald as he helped me build my laptop. I ended up with an amazing laptop at an awesome price. Their customer service is wonderful, they really seem to care about you as a customer unlike most other companies who just want your money. From the start, I received a call to confirm that I had made the order, and not someone who may have stolen my credit card. I would have purchased a second computer from them sooner, but the first one served me very well through 5 years of daily use. I purchased a PowerPro, rather than a stock MSI, because the PowerPro is essentially the same machine, but I preferred PowerNotebooks' 3 year warranty and expert tech support to MSI's support. I initially had a different model in mind, but Donald helped me choose a laptop that had all the features I had asked for and was LESS expensive. My son is starting engineering school and is an avid on-line gamer as well.
We decided on a Windows based notebook, and Powernotebooks had all the customization you could want.
We decided on a nice Powerpro based on the newest IvyBrigde CPU and also the newest nvidia GTX680 discrete graphics.
We worked with Abe Barnett at Powernotebooks. He was great. We had a time crunch, and it was made a little more crazy by the fact that the components had just been released to builders as we made the order.
Abe kept me in the loop the whole way. He called me when the laptop was finished and ready to ship.
