They were so genuine and helpful I thought it was act at one time. However, it was not. They are knowledgeable about the products they sell, build and customize and are always around to answer any questions you may have.

As a very savvy tech person they were not yanking my chain and pushing sales pitches to buy stuff or add stuff I did not need like most other companies do. "In July 2012, I decided I wanted a customized Asus G75VW-RS72 Gaming Laptop with a half-gig solid-state primary drive, a backup 3/4 gig internal hard disc drive (no RAID), higher-than-standard-quality LED-backlit LCD display, an upgraded CPU (Intel Core i7-3820QM 2.7 GHz, 16 megs of Kingston 1600 MHz RAM, and an upgrade to Windows 7 Professional. I also wanted heat-dissipating compound applied to the CPU and the 3-gig nVidea GeForce GTX 670M GPU (the GPU is standard on this Asus laptop).

I could have bought the ASUS in a stock configuration, ripped it apart, and put in my own components. If I had done so, I'd have paid more than I paid to have a reseller do the job for me. The only question left to answer was, would the reseller I chose do a good job of it?

PowerNoteBooks.com did a good job of it. They did the customization on the schedule they promised, and my laptop shipped and was delivered on time. The laptop arrived in excellent condition and worked right out of the box, all needed software and drivers installed. Since I upgraded the CPU, they applied Diamond cooling compound to the CPU and GPU at no extra charge. I had upgraded Windows, so they threw in a no-bloatware clean install and included all of the disks (not just Windows recovery discs). Throughout, they kept me informed via e-mail. Stock components are covered by the ASUS warranty; everything the reseller added they will cover with their own warranty. It could have been a bit confusing as to whom to turn to for resolving a problem, but PowerNotebooks.com sent *very* clear warranty instructions and promised to answer questions as needed.

There were no dead pixels in the display.

I was amazed at how quiet the secondary hard disc drive sold to me by PowerNotebooks.com is. The laptop produces very little noise.

I haven't yet run into any warranty issues.

Bottom line: PowerNotebooks.com did what I asked them to do, and they did it well, on time, at a fair price. Regarding price, I didn't find any customizers who would charge less.
