"I ordered my Yamaha RX-V665 7 channel A/V receiver from PowerSeller after finding the price to be nearly 20% less than that of local merchants (Best Buy, etc). I negotiated a 4 year service contract as well, given that PowerSeller is not an authorized Yamaha dealer. Upon receipt the box was unopened and the unit in new/untouched condition. The unit is now working well in conjunction with my new A/V system and Panasonic Plasma TV (all HDMI). I would recommend this seller to anyone looking for a great price on such equipment."

"I ordered a Pioneer Elite Kuro PRO-FD101 50" plasma TV and a wall mount with tilt as well as a 5 year extended warranty on the TV. The service was excellent and the delivery was on time. Their pricing was best on the date I ordered it, and I am very satisfied with their service. Their were very responsive and left me with the feeling that I would be happy to use them again for future purchases. I talked to them after the delivery about receiving a copy of the receipt and received it two minutes later in my email inbox. I have had nothing but excellent service and would highly recommend them and will use them again for future purchases."

I often read these reviews and try to pick out the quacks or high maintenance people that write them. If a seller has a good ratio of Excellent to poor service, I throw out the highs and the lows and look for an average.
In the case of Powersellernyc.com, I found quite a few negative reviews, but they tended to be for projection products, and some seemed a little over the top.
Let me tell you this.... it is 11PM CST, I have to be up @ 4AM, and I am writing this negative review.
Do yourself the biggest favor you have ever done and DO NOT purchase from this company. They WILL pull the bait and switch.
I ordered a Pioneer AV Receiver from them on 7/1. On 7/2 I received the following:

Dear Christopher ####,

Thank you for placing an order with PowersellerNYC. Please Call David ###### at 866-898-#### , extension ###. in order to confirm your information, and to ensure prompt delivery and top quality service of your order. Confirmation of your order is required via phone, so please call in and speak with a representative as soon as possible.

I called and was told that PSNYC was not a registered retailer of Pioneer audio products (red flag) and that my product would not come with the standard 1 year warranty. They told me that I could buy a 2 year 3rd party warranty for $49. I really didn't have time for their crap, so I agreed to it.
I received 3 emails from their order confirmation department on 7/2. On 7/6, I decided to contact their customer service department for an update. I was Rudely informed that we had just had a holiday (Yes I am an American born and bred)and that my order had not been processed yet.
OK, they are in New York, I will take the pretentiousness once. I called on 7/7 to ask if the order had been processed yet. I was told I would have a tracking number soon. I called later on 7/7 as there was still no tracking number, and I politely asked them to cancel the order. The response and I quote "I DON'T CARE IF YOU WANT TO CANCEL THIS. IT IS NO SKIN OFF MY BACK. GO AHEAD CANCEL IT." So I said, "OK, Cancel it, I will buy it from Amazon" The young man asked me to hold and came back to tell me that I could not cancel, it had already shipped and that I would receive a tracking number in a little while (Red Flag again).
I called today 7/8... Still no tracking number. While I was talking to customer service, a tracking number miraculously appeared on their site. They said that I would be able to use the tracking tonight. Still doesn't work. I called UPS.... Too many digits, it is not a valid tracking number.
I just got off the phone with AMEX. Thank God I used that credit card. AMEX has frozen the charge and are going after PowerSellerNYC. I am going to buy this at BestBuy and spend the extra $100.

What a joke!

"I received the Panasonic 58" plasma but had to call in and ask what the delay was after a week. It had not been shipped but was shipped shortly after I called the agent. After shipment I was unable to track the progress to find out the delivery date which was important because I had secured a worker to install the unit. When the order arrived, the driver would not do anything but carry the unit to the house. I was told to either accept the delivery or he would return it. I took a chance and accepted it and when I opened it, I discovered that the wrong wall mount had been shipped. I called the seller and the proper wall mount was shipped overnight, which was good. I am not used to accepting a $2000 unit without being allowed to inspect it. Powerseller needs to either charge for responsible delivery or work out a better deal with the delivery people. The unit was too heavy for me and I had to have help getting it out of the package without damaging it. The agents were cordial, but the business model that Powerseller is using is a bit flawed. I am not upset with the purchase since I saved a good deal of money but the delivery process left me with some concerns. If it didn't weigh over a hundred pounds and not so large, it would not been such an issue. Powerseller offers good prices, but the order processing and the delivery process are flawed. "

"I placed an order on May 19, 2009 of a Samsung 52" LCD tv. I was uneasy with their salesman, and had to remind him that the website states "no extra charges" when he tried to add the "insurance" to my order. None-the-less, It arrived in perfect condition on June 4, 2009.

I used a brand new debit card linked to my money market. The Powersellernyc website is the only place I have used this card.

A small ($24.50) charge appeared on my online statement on June 15. I contacted the fraud department of my card issuer, who stated the card was used by a paypal account. The card has been canceled, a new one reissued, and the appropriate paperwork is on the way to me to get a refund and start an investigation.

As another poster to this site states, I too use firefox, noscript and current antivirus software. I also have linkscanners to avoid phishing attacks and I am behind a monitored hardware firewall.

I contacted a manager at Powersellernyc and he denied that any of his employees has access to any card information and that none of them are thieves. He stated that even big companies "like Target" get hacked, which did not ease my fears of their operations. He offered to 'credit' my debit card $24.50 (or more he said) when I told him I was going to post a review here, but my card has been canceled, and I'm not going to give them any more information than they already have on me.

Those are the facts.

You decide on the internal integrity of the company and it's employees.

But I do suggest you shop elsewhere, and always search the seller before you buy.

"We bought a Sony flat screen after spending several months shopping around in stores and online at prices and different brands. The staff on the phone was very helpful and we settled on them for the price and customer service. Delivery was fast and communication excellent. We were given a specific time frame for delivery-not one of those 8 hour deals where you have to be home all day. They delivered within the first hour of the small time frame and we are very satisfied with our purchase....we will buy from them again- very knowledgable staff."

"Don't know what's going on with this company? Placed my order on May 8, 2009; my business credit card was charged over $2,0000.00 for the order I placed; received an order confirmation #: 215940 by email on May 14, 2009; and yet I still have not received my order. I have my customers to give an explanation to about the delays, but when I contacted Powerseller NYC, they still cannot give me a tracking number for my order shipment. Today, is already May 22, 2009 and still nothing. When told to cancel my order and credit my credit car back, they said it would take 24-72hrs. Is this company legit or for real! I am disappointd with this seller/company and want my money back, A.S.A.P. Has this ever happened to anyone else!"

"Purchased a Denon avr4308ci from powersellernyc.com from morris he was very freindly and helpful so i know they have good customer service. As far as reciving what i paid for i got exactly what i ordered with free shipping faster than they advertised and saved about $1000 compared to a authorized dealer with such a huge savings i opted for there 4 year service and still saved $800 and received a extra 3 years of service ..Powersellernyc.com services and prices Can Not Be Beet ...I will shop here again and agin and tell all my family and freinds powersellernyc.com is my new electronics store ... "I just bought an audio receiver, a bluray player and some cables from this company. I have to say that the experience has been terrible. Like many have said here before, I experienced all the same things about late deliveries, extended warranties to cover the equipment, etc, etc. But the WORST thing ever was the terrible customer service they provide, and their unwillingness to accept consequences for their mistakes.

Please DO NOT BUY from this company. You will probably get into a major problem for no good reason.

UPDATE

On May 19, I received a call from Morris, one of the store managers, who was very concern about my experience with Powerseller. He wanted to do something for me, so I could feel better about this transaction. He offered a $100.00 store credit, which I refused, because that would not take care of the unpleasant customer service I received when I was trying to fix my problem.

However, I really appreciate his efforts trying to please me. At this point, I may consider buying from them again.
