"After nearly 6 months, I'm confident the Serenity SPCR has been my best PC purchase experience. From the easy ordering, through the build and test milestones, it was actually fun. And, neither FedEx nor UPS could have destroyed well-packed box used. The custom internal foam around the processor cooler was a nice touch.
As a PC builder, it was a real treat. I'd used the Antec P180 series cases before but could never get near this level of dead-quiet. Even after adding a WD Raptor, it is still quiet – vital when editing audio and video in a small room. Inside, the build-quality and cable routing was excellent.
Upon turn-on, the ASUS board was optimized, had the latest drivers and Win 7 was fully updated. When I had a question about dual-booting XP SP3 in AHCI mode, Puget's tech response was prompt and accurate. You won't get that from the big names.
For me, the answer to, “would you recommend to a friend?” is, absolutely yes. It's fast, quiet and stable, and very much worth the money."
"Several months ago I purchased a Puget Systems computer (the Serenity Professional). A couple of weeks ago I took all the packing materials to the dump since I know I'll have no use for them. This computer is a treasure I'll not want to return. The only hicoughs experienced were due to my ignorance of Windows 7 and some peculiarities of third-party software. The staff at Puget were patient and went far out of their way to track down problems caused by one of my rather obscure third-party programs and its interaction with Windows 7. I really cannot say enough about Puget's service and courtesy. I didn't just buy a computer-- I came to experience real, old-fashioned service. "
"I am an experienced computer builder and programmer as well as web developer so I know my way around a computer very well, both inside and out. My purchase with Puget Systems is one of the best decisions I have made. Everything from selecting parts, to talking with a representative, to seeing real time updates, all the way to receiving the computer has been not only an excellent investment, but a great experience as a whole. I ordered a custom Puget Genesis I with extra upgrades and I couldn't be happier with the system.
The people at Puget Custom Computers want to make sure you are getting exactly what you want, whether that means spending more, or spending less. They don't try to sell you anything - they want you to have your perfect PC, without paying for overkill features or junk you won't use. It doesn't matter if you know nothing about computers and need guided the whole way through, or if you are an expert and already know what you want, Puget Systems will do everything they can to get you there.
As far as price is concerned, I have personally looked at many websites and priced similar (or nearly identical) systems and most of them cost much more than what I paid at Puget. Even though I am a professional PC builder myself, It didn't cost much more for me to buy from Puget Systems than it would for me to have bought parts individually and built it myself. This doesn't even take into account the amount of time actually putting everything together, installing everything, testing everything, as well as all the other amazing things the guys at Puget do for each build. There is also a 1 year warranty and free labor on upgrades for life (parts purchased from Puget Systems only).
The build time was very quick, even though they had to wait for some parts to arrive. As soon as it was together (which only took about 3 days) it was shipped and arrived 3 business days later.
The cleanliness, the efficiency, and just the overall quality of the build is top-notch. Along with the computer, you receive a binder with all sorts of benchmarks and test scores for various things. The binder also has CD sleeves in it with all the disks for your PC, including custom created restore disks, driver CDs, Windows disk (if applicable), etc. You also get all the extra hardware that came with every part of your PC including things like extra screws, brackets, stickers, booklets, etc. Not only that, but all of these things are excellently packaged with quality materials and come across as extremely professional.
As I mentioned before, I build custom computers myself. I just spent a lot of money on a PC from Puget Custom Computers and I'm telling you it was a great purchase and worth the price, even though it obviously cost more than building it myself. If you are seriously considering buying a computer that is not a "toy" and that doesn't require you to put it together, Puget Systems is the way to go - hands down."
"I conducted a lengthy search for an OEM computer to meet my photography needs - and also a high end computer that would serve me well for 5-10 even 15 years! It did not exist.
So I started researching computers builders. And I found the VERY BEST COMPUTER BUILDER - Puget Systems!
Great technical support in configuring my new machine.
Computer was delivered within 3 weeks of order. And I received constant updates on the build status, check out testing and shipping.
Exceptional build quality.
Friendly and knowledgeable support staff to patiently answer any questions I have had.
You DO pay a premium for this kind of quality and support compared to the large computer suppliers....but you also get a LOT more quality and support too!
I cannot recommend them highly enough!"
"Short and simple review: packaging is the best I've ever seen (compared to six other companies), customer service was professional, calm and courteous- which cleared up one tiny problem fast and easy."
"I recently purchased a Serenity Mini SPCR from Puget and I could not be happier with my experience. I created a quote on the website, and within minutes I received a personal email from William with feedback on the configuration I had selected. He answered a couple of questions for me and was knowledgable and responsive. After placing the order I was able to monitor the progress step by step as it was built and tested, and see graphs and stats from the benchmarks they ran before shipping it out. The system arrived by mail, very well packed, just one week after I ordered it. It was super easy to set up - plug it in and go, no lengthy setup or installation, and unlike Dell or Sony systems it is not loaded with trial crapware to uninstall - just the basic OS. The Serenity SPCR is famous for being completely silent (13 dBa under load) and it performs as advertised - even with my head right in front of it I can't hear that it's on. The cost is certainly higher than it would have been to buy the parts and assemble them myself, but it's worth it for the hassle free experience and knowledge that if there is a problem they will take care of it under the warranty. In summary I am thrilled with my new system and will recommend Puget to all my friends."
"If you're considering Puget to buy your next computer, I highly recommend it. I recently bought a custom built gaming computer from ibuypower, A large company that is supposed to be its specialty. After I purchased it I started noticing more and more horror stories and bad reviews. I then decided to cancel my order and do more research. That's when I found Puget. They are a very organized small business and also very friendly and caring. The amount of tests they do to make sure your computer is running tip top shape is one of the main reasons why I went with this company. They do it fast too! I don't mean to bag on anyone, but I waited for my computer from ibuypower for an entire week and they didn't even start to gather the parts. However Puget updated me almost every single day, and they started the assembly the next day after I ordered! I got my computer yesterday and I am so very happy I did. I saw a huge dent in the shipping box that I came in so I was a little nervous, but when I opened it, it was so protected that I think you could've thrown it off the plane and it would've been fine. Well done! By the way my computer is a gaming machine and let me tell you, it's beautiful, quiet, and of course runs flawlessly.
The next computer I buy will definitely be from these guys. While a bit expensive, the quality and great service is worth it, trust me.
Thank you Jeff from Puget, and thank you Puget company!

"So far, totally perfect. This desktop PC was shipped to me in California. I then transported it to Thailand where I'm living.
Hooked it up, fired it up, nary a hiccup! Their shipping container is a work of art."
"Purchased my Genesis PC three months ago and it has worked perfectly. I'm a small business owner and time is money, so reliability was at the top of my list. Picked it up in person and met the office staff and they had my PC running when I arrived. Great company, great attitude, and great support. Will buy from Puget Systems again. "

"Absolutely 5-star performance from this company, in all aspects of the process (from pre-sale to delivery and support). I would recommend Puget absolutely to anyone. "You get what you pay for" is a truism that is very relevant to Puget.
I've hand-built my own PC's since my first 486SX in the mid-1980's, so I know first-hand the joys and heartaches of that. Now that I'm a bit older and (hopefully) wiser enthusiast, I really appreciate the assembly skills, stress-testing, and benchmarking that Puget applied to my build. Exotic stuff that I would never had done on my own. (I mostly appealed to a "Sign Of The Cross" faith-based affirmation to insure my build successes).
Congratulations to Puget on excellence in your business model. And thank you for a perfect customer experience!

"I received my Puget Serenity Professional a few days ago and have to say this has been an absolutely stellar experience. I plan to be long-winded here, so feel free to go straight to The Bottom Line.
Background: I've had a LOT of computers in my life, from literally dozens of Dells, Microns, Alienware, locally built machines, Velocity Micro, Overdrive PC, and Maingear. I've had mid-towers, full towers, overclocked, non-overclocked, and extreme performance machines. I'd always been intrigued by Puget, as they consistently hit the top of the charts whenever one is talking about highly respected boutiques, so when the time came to get a new machine and Maingear's new line could not fulfill my needs, I seriously examined Puget.
Before the Order: I examined every corner of their web site, read their blogs, and created a quote. I spoke with a sales rep (William George), who not only gave suggestions and recommendations but also gave me the reason why he was making that recommendation, and it was up to me to decide whether or not it fit my needs. And I was indeed very grateful that he saved me from inadvertently ordering an older model SSD. But I felt the prices were in line for a boutique build, I was impressed that they did their own in-house studies on all components and did their homework as far as what brands they would or would not sell based on failure rate, and all reviews gave me confidence that they would handle my order professionally. While I wanted a quiet machine (not necessarily "silent," which they do specialize in, but definitely quieter than normal), I still needed a high-performing machine, as I'm an avid gamer. William George was such a super guy, answering all my questions and helping me define what I really wanted and really needed, even when I must have driven him crazy with all my secondguessing. All questions were answered quickly and fully, with no pressure whatsoever.
The Order: I placed my order for a customized Serenity Professional on the morning of 5/23/12 (a birthday present to me!). Later that very same day, my order had status updates in real time. I knew what they had in stock and what they did not. The one item not in stock (a sound card) showed with an ETA of 5/25. And on 5/25, it was updated as being in, and I could see exactly what was happening with my order, with the names of each individual installer checking off what he was doing. Benchmarks of my machine were posted. Pictures--both actual and thermal--were posted. One week after ordering (with a weekend and a holiday in that interim period), the machine shipped. Just incredible transparency.
The Arrival: Computer packed very well and arrived in super condition. I was concerned about ordering this case initially (Antec P-183) because I'd never owned an Antec and was unsure of its construction. Puget assured me it was a well-constructed case, and I loved it when I saw it. Pictures on web sites do not do it justice. Smooth, sturdy, and sleek, it is a very high-quality case and showcases the beautiful job Puget did of wiring inside. I ordered acoustic foam, as well, and everything was applied professionally and looked great. The machine--even with Nvidia's new 680 video card--is scary silent. I honestly had to get on the floor and put my ear to the machine to hear that it was running. When I'm not crouched on the floor, I'm grateful the case has a blue light to show it's on or frankly I wouldn't know for sure. This is a silent machine. I installed software (HW Monitor) to reassure myself that temps remain in line with such a silent machine, and they've remained very low, despite playing games like Diablo 3. My Serenity came with extra hardware, restore disks, and a binder listing useful information, including serial numbers of my components and contact numbers for the manufacturers of my components. No swag...no free games, no free T-shirts. I got what I ordered, exactly what I ordered and exactly how I expected and perhaps even more than I hoped.
Bottom Line: I could get a computer anywhere--from retail outlets to other online sellers--and get the components I wanted. However, Puget made modifications to the case I chose (and they have several models to choose from) based on what I personally wanted. They showed me online what was happening in real time every minute from the time my order was received until it went out the door. They did a super job assembling my machine. It was immaculate. They also did it quick...my particular build took one week from order to out the door (and believe me, after waiting 2 months for other machines, I was most appreciative of this). Customization, peace of mind, and quality...I honestly couldn't ask for more than that. The next time I order, it will also be a Puget and I've recommended Puget to all my friends."
"Excellent built PC my wife LOVES it."
"When you want it done right the first time, on time, and according to your preferences, Puget is the way to go. Although I don't usually do reviews, I am glad to do this one. I bought a powerful and quiet system from Puget several years ago, that performed flawlessly and was silent as I requested. As my work type has shifted I found the need for more horsepower, but didn't want to give up the quietness. Puget came through again and I am quite pleased. They discuss the purchase to the level that matches the customer's interest, and I believe that regardless of the customer's experience level they will deliver an on-target, quality system. If I need another system, I'll work with Puget again because I don't think I could afford the time, risk, or expense to do otherwise.

"Over about the last month I bought two PC from Puget Systems. The first was a home theater pc and I was so pleased with the PC and the buying process that I ordered another PC for my wife.
The process that Puget Systems uses began with a perusal of their website. I was impressed with the reviews and testamonials I saw related to their home theater systems. I called and spoke with one of their customer specialists about my need. He didn't put any pressure on me to buy anything in particular but gave advice on what might work best for my application. I felt as if I was talking with a computer guru at work rather than someone I didn't know. We settled on a build that seemed just right to me and I made the order.
The second part of the process involved following the building of my computer on their website. It is unbelievably complete and shows every step in the process from ordering of parts, assembly, testing, quality testing, and finally shipping.
A couple of days after it was shipped I received the computer. All I had to do was plug in my monitor and keyboard and turn it on and it worked right out of the box. My wife and I were watching TV on it the next day.
Out of curiosity, I opened up the covers and discovered that the build was immaculate. There were tie wraps in all of the right places so there was no loose wiring to rattle or shake loose. That also adds to the quietness of the computer. I have to put my ear to it to hear anything. That's important for a home theater PC.
I also want to comment on the documentation that was included. I got a list of everything that went into the computer along with documentation. I also got results of exaustive testing that was done. There were even thermal images of the computer at idle and when being stressed. Everything, including several disks, was neatly arranged in a looseleaf binder.
As I was installing the PC I ran into some difficulties and called Puget Systems for some assistance. I was politely and quickly routed to a technical specialist who seemed to know exactly what I was talking about. I was very pleased with that response.
In summary, I would say that Puget System is a very professional company who will do what they say. The proof in my case was that I bought another PC from them for my wife about a month later. We were able to take one of their standard systems and customize it to do exactly what I needed. I am just as pleased with that one as the first and so is my wife. While I think their pricing is slightly higher than I might see with local sales, I see value in the design and the process that Puget Systems uses.
Update 9/18/2013
Since this review I bought another PC from Puget Systems. Same great service.
I also made use of their lifetime phone support on the PC I bought in April of 2012. I spoke with Richard. He was very knowledgeable and quickly pointed me to some test software that was included in the original documentation that pinpointed the problem as a failed hard drive. It was covered by the manufacturers warranty. Richard was very patient and considerate while listening to me. The problem was resolved after only 2 calls.
I also asked about the possibility of updating my computer with a newer motherboard. Richard's opinion was that the upgrade, while perhaps nice to have, was not necessary. It is impressive to hear someone turn down potential sales because of their honest assessment.
These recent experiences have made my opinion of the value vs. cost when doing business with them more positive."
