"This is my second machine from Puget Computers. The old one--3.5 years old--is running fine, but I just wanted a newer and faster machine. The new machine is fast, powerful, and very quiet. It was *very* well packaged and it was easy to set up. "
"Mid November of 2009 I began looking into a new computer upgrade. My old pentium 4 and graphics card were no longer able to keep up with the first person shooter games I play.
After spending hrs. on the web searching for good machines in my price range-both comerical and custom makers-I noticed Puget had the best reviews.
So I went to their web site and designed my own system to fit my price.(not knowing what I was doing).
I submitted the system for review and was contacted by a rep named William George.
He let me know what was compatible and what was not compatible with my choices and made suggestions to make the system work in my budget. We went back and forth for a few weeks and eventually came up with a great system!
I have nothing but "10's" to give to Puget in every aspect of purchasing this machine.
Puget kept me informed at every step of assembly, testing, and shipping. It was packed well and arrived a day early without a scratch.
It works GREAT! No problems right out of the box.
I highly recommend this outfit to anyone looking for a new or upgrade machine. You won't be sorry!
Thank you William!"
"I needed a new computer. I wanted fast and reliable. I have had several Dells, and while OK, they all were loaded with crapware, and always seemed to develop problems early on, with lukewarm customer service. My wife has a Mac, and the idea of a quality stable computer was appealing, but not the price tag or dumping of my Windows sunk costs.I had read some reviews and went with Puget.
I am glad I did. Nice machine, no garbage, quality assembly, and a recommendation from sales that saved me money and improved performance.
My only complaint is that they were not specific in informing me I needed a "powered display port adapter". This cost me about $40 in the wrong adapter. They did not respond over Christmas weekend, but did say they were going to let the sales guy know for the future."
"Well, honestly, I went round and round with dell, trying to order a pc. After making a choice, i waited and waited and waited....you get the idea. They canceled my ordered. I am SOOO glad they did! I ordered from Puget (I was looking hard and long at theirs too). I am thrilled with the pc and the ongoing support from Wilson. They are just amazing!!! I am very technically challanged and Wilson was very helpful in guiding me. I had a budget and he came up with an awesome system for me. A few things to consider: Puget came under Dell by almost $300.00....Not quite as built up as the Dell, but built for me, that's what matters. the parts are all brand name, high quality parts....who knows what you are getting from Dell or the others. Dell told me I would have my new pc by 01/14/10. I got my new pc from Puget 12/29/09!!! And I'm still getting emails from Dell, that they don't understand what happened (They are saying that I canceled the order. But that is all said and done. I am totally thrilled with Puget and I highly recommend them. Don't feel intiminated by the custom build....they are great for us not so technically advanced. Hey I'm in my mid 50's and not ashamed to admit that I needed technical help, and these guys don't make you feel like a total loser! HIGHLY recommend!!!"
"This has been a very positive experience every step of the way. I browsed for almost a full year reviewing different sites for builds of gaming computers and waiting for Windows7.
Once I saw how careful Puget Systmes was about allowing you to pick the exact hardware including the brand/model number from their list of proven reliable providers, I knew they were several steps above all the others. No one else offers this. For example, I purchased 4G Ram and know that I got Kingston KVR1333D3N9/2G installed. They offered advise on how to improve my initial selected build with 2 different suggestions within my price range..and they were right. I was able to contact them both by email and telephone with ease.
Then, the build started and more hidden value revealed itself. I could monitor the progress on-line including testing results and once completed they sent me pictures of my computer including while running with heat output visible.
The computer arrived very quickly. I had it shipped to my neighborhood UPS store in order to get the required signature and the packaging was outstanding. They sent a notebook with printouts for all components, benchmarks and included all items that come with the original components just as if you built it yourself.
There is no reason to buy anywhere else!!

"Based on the ratings and reviews at resellerratings, I decided to order a custom computer for my Dad. The first thing I noticed was that the components offered to build the computer (motherboard, case, etc.) were many of the same ones I had settled on when planning to build the computer myself. Within a couple of hours of putting in my custom configuration, I had feedback. Jeff suggested I delete one component he didn't think I needed, and upgrade another to a slightly better one. There was no net change in cost from these suggestions.
A total of 12 days elapsed from placing my order (on the weekend) to receipt of the computer in California. During the build process, I was able to follow on the web when components were available, assembled and when testing was complete and the computer was ready for shipping. I was very impressed with the packaging of the computer with multiple layers of cushioning, including some inside the computer case to prevent the CPU cooler from moving around.
We connected up the computer, fired it up and everything worked perfectly.
I would rate the quality of the components a 10, and the build quality a 10. We haven't needed any service yet, but I have no doubt that would be a 10 also if needed.
My next order will be for a computer for myself--also from Puget Custom Computers."
"I have owned two Dell desktop systems in the past. While generally pleased with the Dell products, the customer service experience was unpleasant. When shopping for a replacement for our current Dell I began to research smaller, American computer companies looking for a good product with better and more personal customer service. I came across Puget Custom Computers and began to read reviews of the company, their products and services. The vast majority of their reviews were excellent. I have been communicating with Jeff Stubbers from day 1 and he has been nothing short of great. Every communication with Puget has been fast, efficient and personal. Jeff answered all of my questions and made suggestions how I could design my system to make it less expensive and/or quieter. The actual selection of components and design of the new system was easy. Puget reviewed all of my choices to make sure everything would work well together. They send a link so you can watch the progress of your computer as it is being built and tested. When testing is nearly complete they send photos of your system including internal thermal photos that show how the cooling system works. The only glitch we encountered was with Fed Ex. Through no fault of Puget, FedEx had the correct address but kept going to the wrong house. We finally got our computer on day 5. Jeff and I were both concerned about the computer spending that much time on a truck, but when we got it all set up the computer worked perfectly. It is awesome, fast and super quiet. Puget ships their computers with all the spare nuts, bolts, cables, screws and information notebook with every detail of your new system. If you are looking for a great product backed by excellent customer service and personal attention, Puget is it. This has been one of the best "shopping experiences" I have ever had."
"Puget Custom Computers (pugetsystems.com)
First, thanks Jeff for being there.
Second, thanks Jon for having an AWESOME staff and company that delivers such incredible Customer Service which is SO needed in this day an age of outsourcing, it was a exactly what was needed for me to buy this computer.
I placed an order for a computer, for myself, from Puget Custom Computers on November 17th, a day after placing an order for a compute from Dell for my daughter. I knew going into it that the video card I wanted was on back order literally EVERYWHERE. The amazing part was that I could log on at any time of the day or night and see the progress of my computer. Not just that it was “In Production”, which was what I got from the Dell site for my daughters computer. I will note at this point that the Puget computer was much more advanced then the one I ordered from Dell. I have had my computer from Puget for almost 2 weeks now, and I can you with absolute certainty that I am 100% impressed and 100% satisfied with my experience from start to finish and beyond. Why wait two weeks plus to write a review? I wanted to use it, break it in, give it time to break. I spend 10+ hours a day at my computer so if it was going to break, it would have by now. I am VERY VERY happy with my service at Puget!
Oh, why did I mention Dell? Well, yesterday I received my second email that my daughter's system was delayed and I needed to log on to their site as there were some problems with the build. What did I find out? The order had been canceled. That was it, no explanation or reason, just canceled. I wanted people to know that Puget Custom Computers came through when even Dell fell on its face. Yes, Puget was a bit more expensive. But look, I can call Puget and get Jeff on the phone 15 minutes before he is planning to leave the office for the next 2 days and he will explain to me what is happening on my build for 20 minutes and I don't feel rushed and brushed off like I did with Dell.
One thought in closing. I really think the people at Puget might actually care about their customers. I know, I know.. that sounds way to good to be true. If you are one of those type of people, then I suggest going to Dell. I hope you do in fact, cause I don't want Puget to get EVERYONES'S business, I have one more machine for them to build for me!"
"I was impressed by my first e-mail to Puget Systems and receiving an answer back from William George as to recommendations for my computer build. He was very professional and yet caring as to my particular needs for my new system. The build was fast yet very thorough and their attention to detail was extrememly impressive. I highly recommend this company for your next custom build system. You will not be sorry. "
"My desktop was built very well. The emails confirming my configuration and making suggestions were what sold me on Puget over their competitors. I was a bit disappointed that a $5k system didn't offer free shipping [cost me an extra $160] but overall I am very satisfied."
"Puget is a fantastic company to work with. My sales rep Jeff Stubbers was so patient and knowlegeable and helped me to put together the perfect computer for me. The communication through out the process was second to none. I loved the final pictures that were sent to me prior to shipping my computer. I would highly recommend Puget Custom Computers to anyone."
"I order an Intel G2 SSD from Puget Systems, got here fast at a good price. Also, I like how they update you on your order in ways other people don't.
Would recommend to anyone (who deserves this good service) for sure."
"I have been building, working with and supporting PCs for almost twenty years. My job requires me to spend all day supporting software and hardware issues, so even though I've got the skills to put a PC together myself, when my workday is over I'd rather invest a bit of $$ to have someone else who's competent put it together for me. Over the years I have dealt with tiny hole-in-the-wall shops, custom gaming PC creators like Falcon Northwest, and slightly larger but still local mom-and-pop shops.
Let me be clear: Puget Systems is one of the most, if not THE most professional, well-informed and competent companies I have ever dealt with. I discovered them through their incredibly high ranking here at ResellerRatings and I have to say every bit of that ranking is deserved.
From start to finish this company has impressed me with its professionalism and complete transparency. While configuring several different systems through their website to see what the various configs did to the final numbers, I saved a number of different quotes. Barely seconds after the first quote was saved, Jeff Stubbers contacted me via email to ask me a few questions about the config and make suggestions. My primary concerns were modular upgradeability (futureproofing) and currently top-end components, because I require a lot of horsepower in the systems I use. Emails flew back and forth between him and me for the next few days, as I continued asking questions about the components, build specifics, and company specifics; it rarely took more than fifteen minutes for him to answer anything I sent, down to the tiniest detail. Jeff worked with me right up until the order was placed and I am very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. Not once did I feel pressured to use more expensive components (a good thing, since the build I chose was already near the top-end on most components) and in some cases he actually suggested cheaper options than the ones I had picked.
Rarely have I seen a company that is so open. Every single component that can be used in a build is reviewed by the staff. Blog updates appear on the site regularly. Puget staff members post on the forums answering questions. Feedback, *honest* feedback, is solicited at every turn. While the PC was being built I was deluged with information. You can track every step of the build process via their site: quote submitted, status updates, parts arrived, bits of the system are being integrated, RAM and hard drive have been tested, OS has been installed, burn-in tests complete, benchmarking complete, PICTURES of the new system sent to me by email for Chrissake, system shipped, tracking # provided, and much much more.
The custom-built PC arrived just over twelve days -- TOTAL -- after the order was placed; no doubt it would have been even less than that if the Thanksgiving holiday hadn't interfered. Six business days is more accurate. The box was filled with custom packaging designed to keep the PC as safe as possible -- custom foam surrounding the case, paper and plastic wrapping to keep the case clean and protected, even quick-expand foam INSIDE the PC's case to keep components stable and connected. I'd been planning to ask for all the drivers/manuals, but I didn't need to; as is apparently SOP for this company, they sent all of the motherboard components, extra hardware, cabling, driver CDs, instruction manuals, even the little stickers from component manufacturers to adorn the case. As if that weren't enough they also included a custom binder full of information about the system, printed benchmarks and build check-offs, basic troubleshooting if for some reason the PC wouldn't boot, and even information about the manufacturers of the various components used to build the PC. Outstanding.
Once I opened the case and removed the packing foam, I beheld a beautifully-constructed system. Cabling was carefully tied and routed to provide as much airflow as possible. Most component connectors were hot glued in place, but not excessively so. They even precabled the system for one SATA and one IDE drive which I'll be adding myself (media storage from my old PC). Due to their packing care nothing was loose and I didn't even have to reseat so much as a single connector or screw.
System booted with no issues and it absolutely screams -- I mean that only speed-wise, because it's also the QUIETEST PC I've ever owned! I've had it built with a Nvidia Geforce GTX 295 dual-GPU card plus a high-end Core i7 motherboard/CPU, plus 8 GB of RAM and Windows 7 Professional. This thing is an absolute beast. Not only that, but I don't have to waste my time uninstalling extra crap and bloatware that big-box companies are so obsessed with placing on new systems; Puget installed the base OS only and left everything else alone. They even disabled unneeded motherboard drivers and devices that I won't use. Now I am just getting used to Windows 7 after steadfastly sticking with WinXP for many years. I'm looking forward to getting the most out of the PC and expect it to last me several years at least.
I applaud Jon Bach and his staff for creating a company who really seems to get the concept behind "great knowledge, great service, great quality". I don't buy new PCs often but you can bet that the next one I have built for me will be from Puget Systems. They may be pricier than buying from Dell or Lenovo, but the build quality, company knowledge, company attitude towards customer service and quality / professionalism, and genuine desire to be the best at what they do set them apart from any other PC company I've dealt with. And in twenty years, that's been a lot of 'em.
Thanks to everyone involved at Puget for creating such a great system for me!

"Puget Custom Computers are a cut above the rest! I have had the computer only a month and it works great but the way they handled the order was superb! They seem to care and want to build a good product. All the testing is reassuring and hopefully, down the road, very worthwhile. I would recommend this company to anyone in need of a good computer. There may be cheaper systems out there but not worth your money. Puget seems to be worth every dollar spent!!"
"My home computer was dying so I need a new computer to replace it. I was looking at laptops at Puget Custom Computers. I place my quote for a laptop and wrote somewhat of my status as well as what I am looking to do with it. Jeff got right back to me the next day along with a custom made desktop that he put together. It is cheaper and more powerful. I was really please and went for the desktop.
We chat about a week or so going though each parts of the custom desktop. I told him more of what I am looking for and many noob questions on computers. He answer them all along with his recommandation on what is best for me.
During the building process, Jeff kept in touch with me and update me on the status of my computer.
I had a very smooth experiences and everything is easily taken care of with just an email.
The computer arrive far eailer than I thought it would with the coming holidays and backorder.
It was nicely pack and protected. The first time I turn it on, the fan hardly even made a sound. I have to put my ear up to the fan to heard anything at all. All of the wires and parts inside are nicely done and clean.
All my extra parts is bag in one bag and my important items is bag in another. All of the important papers is in an folder for easy of used. They even have all my CD in the folder nicely place in their pocket. All my manufacturer warranty and support information is nicely printed as well. I cannot be more please with the organization.
I am really happy with my new computer right now. I cannot wait to start render something with it or play a few games on it."
