"My whole experience with Puget Systems in their advising, ordering, building, notifying, detailing, delivering, packaging, and quality of both the build itself and the components with which it was accomplished have been the best of any computer company with which I have ever dealt.
The effort they put in, the personal responsibility for every step of the process is outstanding. Since my computer was perfect "out-of-the-box", I have no experience as of yet with their repair department or customer service after the sale, but, from all my encounters so far, I expect it to be very good indeed.
Over the past 26 years, I have ordered doxens of computers from a combination of Apple, Dell, HP, local and internet retailers, and several good local "white box" companies, and this is the best buying experience I have had to date. On top of all the extra time and quality they put into their build process, their prices were excellent. For instance, had I even been able to buy a replica of my new computer from Dell or HP (not even possbile because of their generally lower quality parts, less diverse component list and smaller base of build options from which to choose), it would have most likely cost at least 10-20% more money and be loaded with the usual bogus software crap, useless try-oiuts and other intrusive add-ons that I'd only have to work to remove. And, for a relative low cost producer, their confidence-building client reporting techniques and actual quality output are impressive and unmatched by any other company I've dealt with in the past.
As you might already have assumed from the above, I give Puget Systems the highest ratings I can for an internet (or, for that matter, brick & mortar) custom computer builder and highly recommend them to anyone else looking for a custom PC. "
"I couldn't be happier with my new computer. I had a bunch of questions before I purchased from Puget Systems and customer service was great. I told them exactly what I wanted the computer for and they built the machine so it would do what I wanted. The PC is very fast and very quiet."
"The first of December 2009 I ordered a Puget M715i 17 inch notebook with the following configuration: Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 2.8GHz; 3 GB Hard drive; CD/DVD Drive; 4GB RAM; NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT; and 2-year warranty. What started out as a bum situation, quickly turned into a happy ending. The team at Puget Systems is the best! Over the years I have purchased 3 desktops and 7 laptops for myself and family and I will return here for all future purchases.
At the time I ordered the notebook, they were without a demo model for me to test. I placed the order anyway because I felt secure in the knowledge and expertise of the people I was working with, this was the notebook I wanted at the price I wanted and most importantly, they gave me a full return guarantee if I did not like it for any reason.
Picked my new baby up late Friday afternoon and spent the weekend loading it up and configuring it to my liking. By late Sunday night I was ready to throw it through the window. There was a constant vibration that never ceased. The touchpad was so sensitive that if I even lightly touched the area around the pad, my curser jumped from place to place and page to page. It was like it was possessed and intent on making me a raving lunatic! On top of this, the number pad was squished ever-so-slightly - but just enough so that I made many mistakes while keyboarding and had to resort to “looking” at it when typing numbers (I don’t like to slow down and look at my keyboard!). And the final straw was the reversed placement of the Fn and Ctrl keys (I have always had keyboards with the Ctrl key on the outside). I use the Ctrl key freely while keyboarding and my short fat little stub of a pinky finger had a devil of a time bending in far enough without slowing down and once again having to look at the keyboard. In a nutshell, I loved the guts of the machine but could not live with the exterior.
A call first thing Monday morning brought immediate response with all sorts of suggestions and promises to look into switching keys. This is my work and personal computer. Because I was smack dab in the middle of an intense work assignment and online shopping for Christmas (not much time left!) they told me to live with it until after Christmas and we would see if we could get this unit working to my liking. F3 temporarily disabled the touchpad – and that was a good thing indeed. A wireless mouse isn’t that bad! With a reminder that if we could not resolve these problems to my liking I could bring it back for a full refund, they wished me happy holidays. Have I mentioned yet that these guys are the best?
I brought it to Puget Systems for a look-see and they agreed whole heartedly that the touchpad had demonic issues, the vibration needed to cease and overall, the shell needed to go. They installed a touchpad program to temporarily help that issue and proposed we order a new shell, swap out the guts of the machine and try again – all with the assurance that if this did not work and the technical issues still existed, I could get a full refund. They did not have an alternate keyboard to offer in this model so I was going to have to decide if my finger-memory could be re-trained. I decided it could.
Today I am the proud owner of a notebook I love and would recommend to anyone looking for the power, speed and intense multi-taking ability of a desktop but with the need for mobility. The vibration is gone and the keypad works beautifully. The icing on the cake? When they went to order a new shell, the model I had was discontinued (hmmmm, wonder if there is a reason for that wise decision?) and for free I got an upgrade to a shell with a higher screen resolution AND the keyboard spaced exactly like I am used to. The Fn and Ctrl key are still reversed but in time, I will adjust.
I must mention by name Daniel who was the first person I met as I entered their store. He spent a long time with me designing the right configuration. Each time I entered the store he gave me his full attention and made me feel like I was the most important issue on his desk at that time. Then came Richard who took the time to go over prices, warranties and the business details that are important during purchasing. He clearly explained these details thus making me comfortable with the check I was about to write. Jon (the owner) stepped in when I returned the notebook for a look-see. It’s not often the owner takes an interest in one customer, one issue, one problem. His love for his business is apparent – as was his knowledge. There were other folks I spoke with that I do not know by name -- but all were patient, explained things at my level of understanding and provided excellent customer service. Have I mentioned yet that the folks at Puget Systems are the best?"
"A terrific custom PC buying experience. When placing the order, I was quickly contacted by a helpful staff member who reviewed the system configuration and confirmed with me personally that the components I chose would suit my purposes optimally. This done, the system was built over the next week and a half, and I was kept fully updated by email - pictures of the machine (including heat mapping) were even sent to me prior to shipment of the system, a great touch. The machine arrived perfectly assembled, configured and safely packaged for shipment, with attention to detail and quality evident in every respect, ready to use and running beautifully out of the box. All extra cables and parts down to the screw were neatly sorted by category and included with the shipment, along with a binder listing comprehensive information on the components comprising the system plus the extensive diagnostic checklists and quality control tests which were carried out on the system before it was sent out. I am altogether pleased with my purchase from Puget and couldn't have done it better myself."
"Amazing customer service! I'm still amazed that a computer reseller would give such great service to someone buying one little computer - and not even a very expensive computer. I loved not having to deal with some crappy, confusing web-configurator. I decided that I would just tell Puget what I wanted and they recommended the perfect PC. Small, quiet and a great value. And even though I wasn't spending a ton of money -- for a computer -- they paid attention to me like I was ordering 100 computers. Amazing responsiveness, super-quick shipping, quality setup, fully tested machine, no bloatware installed. Wow - I didn't know this was even possible these days. "
"Best experience I've ever had in buying a computer by far. I've purchased computers by Apple, Acer, and HP in the past and let me tell you Puget Systems beats them all hands down in every area. I was able to monitor the build process online daily and review the QC testing before it was shipped out. Took them one week from start to shipping which I think is fantastic for a custom build. Arrived at my home in Cleveland, Ohio well packed and protected. The build was done flawlessly, internally very tidy and well thought out, runs like a dream. All of the components I chose are high quality and the assembly was of a quality to match, I cannot find one thing to nit-pick about it was put together with obvious care and attention to detail. You can buy a cheaper computer elsewhere but considering the quality of product and customer service you receive I consider Puget Systems a real bargain, best money I've ever spent."
"What a pleasure it has been to deal with Puget Computers. Their reps walked me through the design of my desktop, built it to specs and sent it quickly. Everything works exactly as it should, so I have had no need to call for support; but I'm pretty sure it will be there if and when I need it. To compare this experience with those I have had with the big names in the computer world is like comparing champagne to grape juice."
"I can't say enough good things about my experience with Puget Custom Computers. These guys are 100% professional: first rate hardware gurus, outstanding communication, easy to work with, fast, and considerably less expensive than HP, Dell, or Lenovo for comparably spec.'d hardware. And when you pick up the phone and call them, you get a live person on the phone who knows what they're talking about. They returned emails and phone messages promptly (usually within an hour). Puget Custom Computers has raised the bar for customer service.
I worked with William George to design a custom workstation for scientific computing (based on their Genesis system). He asked about the kinds of software I use (primarily MATLAB, SAS, and R) and my budget (about $4000). He steered me away from the more expensive dual processor Xeon machine that I had initially been considering. Instead, he suggested using a faster single quad core i7 processor and increasing the amount of RAM in the system. This resulted in a machine that is considerably faster than the dual Xeon setup would have been for single threaded processes (which are most of what I do), still blazing fast for multi-threaded processes, and almost $1000 less expensive than the system I was prepared to buy, which would have been a waste of money.
The computer arrived ahead of schedule. It was exceptionally well packaged (a box in a box, with two layers of foam protection). The box included a three-ring binder with printouts documenting the entire build process, results from benchmark testing during the break-in process, and contact information for the manufacturers of all component parts. They even included printouts of the CPU/GPU temperature logs from their tests! Incredible! Out of the box the computer was immaculate. All cables were neatly organized in the case. It has run flawlessly since I began working with it last week. And it is FAST!!
When the keyboard they sent with the machine had a sticky key, they shipped out a new one. No questions asked.
I will definitely be returning to Puget Custom Computers for my future computing needs.
This is the way a company should be run. Highly recommended. "
"I'm very happy with Puget. They gave me great advice in optimizing my setup. They followed up with a fast build. Best of all, the computer rocks. Whisper quiet. Great airflow. Excellent wiring. Shockingly fast. All in all, a very positive experience from my end - the best I've had in over a decade of boutique PC assembly, including many of the big names."
"I have bought many PCs over the last 15 years, from 7-9 different companies. Puget was best by far, for service and quality of build. Great experience from start to finish!"
"Sometime in July 2009, I decided that I decided to purchase a new computer. The problem at the time was, I had been out of the computer world for a while and was too busy to research AND build it myself. To this end, I decided that I would spend several months researching exactly what sort of computer I wanted, and also choose a company that would be able to complete the task in the best possible manner.
After a few months, I had brought the number of companies down to 3, specifically; Puget, Falcon-NW, and Maingear. Further research led me to decide on Puget due to their absolutely outstanding customer service (which I was able to experience myself). On October 2009, I submitted a draft configuration of a PC to Puget, and was contacted by William George, who guided, and assisted me through the entire process.
I finally placed my order in late November 2009, and received it in early December. The entire process was first class, I must have sent close to 100 emails, and most were responded to within an hour or two. Phone calls were usually answered, or called back within 30 minutes during business hours. Suggestions and modifications were made based of our discussions throughout the process. The computer came packaged superbly, and has been running flawlessly for a little over a month now.
You are paying for a superior product with Puget, and you will realize this throughout the entire process."
"When I submitted my initial order Puget resonded right away and went through the order in detail with me. We tweaked my order to accomodate potential thermal issues and reduced the cost of the machine overall.
A couple weeks had passed form when I specced the machine to when I placed the order and the graphics card specced was no longer in stock. Puget upgraded the graphics card at no charge.
Over the past 18 years I have purchased a dozen computers from various suppliers, custom builds, retailers and the big names as well. The Puget experience and product beats them all hands down."
" When I was considering purchasing a custom computer (June 6, 2009), I tried very hard to do my due diligence, by examining various options, using the Internet. I was very impressed by the ratings found here in Resellerratings.com, For Puget computer. I talked to various other boutique shops, and found the attention and excellent suggestions I got from Puget to be the best.
When the computer was delivered I was exceptionally pleased with the results of the decisions I made with the help of their salesperson Jeff.
I always meant to write a complimentary review here in reseller ratings.com, but I decided to let some time pass, to make sure that my views were not colored by Rose colored glasses, during the honeymoon.
Recently I've had some technical issues, as I have upgraded this computer from Vista to Windows 7. Various phone calls to various tech support person's makes it perfectly clear that I made the proper decision back in June. They continue to treat me as it was very early in the relationship, and I hadn't given them my credit card number to solidify a purchase.
I can highly recommend Puget systems, for anyone wanting a special computer, and who will enjoy the process of selecting each component, and winding up with a first class product.

"I ordered my Puget silent gaming 5/26/2008 and I am still very happy with it. There was no bloatware on my system when it arrived as promised. My Puget system still runs fast and silent. As others have said they do not try to sell you, they will infact custom tailor a machine to your needs and try talk to you out of hardware upgrades that you would not benefit from. I've found there customer service to be excellent, and it is easy to contact a live human if desired.
I have built several quiet gaming rigs myself, and I am quite particular. I've spent much time researching and comparing hardware on the web. No matter how much time and effort goes into my build. I still end up replacing CPU coolers that won't fit, PSU cables that won't reach, fans that aren't as quiet as advertised, or similar. Only to end up with a system that cost more and isn't as quiet as my Puget.
The binder that came with my system is very interesting and full of useful information.
I would recomend and have recomended puget to anyone who is looking to purchase a PC,if you build your own machines Puget is a great resource as they seem to sort through all the hardware out there and find the quitest most, reliable, and best performing. The more info you provide puget with as far as what your PC will be used for, the better your custom machine will be for you.
As I consider myself a PC entusiast. I would like to see puget start offereing painted/powder coated chasis for there systems."
"Fantastic customer service. Quality construction. Willing to customize. A good business that I believe can be trusted to deliver the product you want."
