"The folks at Puget Custom Computers have been great to work with. My sales rep, Wilson, was friendly and responsive. The machine that they built for me has been superb-just what I wanted and better than I expected-with no unnessary "stuff" to waste my time for days. Thanks guys! I'll be back and I will spread the word."
"12/07
I am amending my initial review after 8 more months of ownership of a Puget Systems computer and additional interactions with Puget Systems staff, including the company president. I believe structural issues affecting the quality of service I received early in the year have been corrected. Two additional technical problems I encountered ("user" issues, not system defects) were handled promptly and professionally. I would at this time be willing to buy another computer from Puget Systems.
4/07
I’ve allowed 4 months to elapse since receiving my Puget Systems desktop computer in order to provide an accurate review. I resolved years ago after a miserable customer service experience with Dell computer that I would never buy a corporate-made system again, at least never a Dell. Puget Systems and the small number of other independent fabricators deserve praise and support for persevering in their production of personalized systems in the face of withering competition from corporate manufacturers. I had high expectations from Puget Systems. They had a more business-like focus and more configuration options than makers of gaming computers (e.g. Falcon NW, Black Widow) I also queried. Production and delivery were punctual but the system arrived non-operational. Puget made a genuine effort to have it repaired at my home, but shipment back to Puget was eventually required. My feeling toward Puget is neutral on that early incident. Subsequent customer service has been disappointing. The system has had a few small but annoying problems that I have requested Puget’s support team to address. Sometimes they respond (to emails and phone calls), sometimes not. Within the past month I set up a phone support session with a technician and took time off work to be at home to receive his call. He did not call; he was not available when I called looking for him. He did not respond to an email I sent asking him what happened to my appointment. That’s unacceptable. I hoped to buy a Puget Systems computer for my father but held off pending resolution of this problem. Last week I bought my father a Dell."
"Companies like this are a PLEASURE to deal with.
Wonderful support and communication, quick service and a well built, thoroughly tested custom product. Not to mention all the small details that only a small company can provide.
Absolutely no problems with hardware, software or Puget's great staff.
It's great to see companies like Puget that strive for excellence and not just profits for them and their stockholders; like the Dells and Gateways of this world, to these you're just another number, and "get in line" if you have a problem.
Would definitely purchase from Puget again, and would recommend their services without reservation.
I'm extremely pleased to say the least.

"I found that the service was excellent from the sales department right across the board to tech support.I would highly reccomend them to anyone wanting a quality computer with after sales support> Anyone wanting more info can e-mail me."
"Great company to deal with! They helped me spec out a high-end computer with various custom requirements that required research. They also added in various cables (at no charge) such that I could modify the system once received. Communication was great, and system was received well-packaged and in fine order."
"I am very pleased with Puget Custom Computers.
Great service, Quality Product, delivered on time
at a fair price. No need for support.
Update 10/22/2007 No problems yet with hardware
and they were even helpful with dumb Vista questions."
"I recently experienced some serious problems with my Puget built computer after doing a repair install of Windows XP. After struggling with this beast I was near accepting the fact that I had just created a very nice looking boat anchor. I called Puget to see if they could offer some suggestions. Little did I know what a refreshing shock I was about to receive from the Puget staff. I was totally overwhelmed with the level of genuine concern and determination that Jon, Daniel and especially James showed in getting my computer up and running. These guys actually understand and apply the concept of "Customer Service". Thank you. "
"I have purchased 10-15 computers in the past 20+ years, and this was by far the most satisfying experience of the lot. The sales consultant who worked with me, William George, was patient and helpful through several e-mail and phone conversations. I fall in the category of knowing just enough to be dangerous, so it was great to get objective, knowledgeable feedback on my choices.
The system itself is a dream--it's built like a tank, blisteringly fast and extremely quiet. I was worried about the noise level, as I was moving from a laptop to a five-fan tower unit. However, the combination of passively cooled video cards, quiet disk drives, upgraded fans, and careful soundproofing really did the trick. It's quieter than my laptop!
I popped the hood to check out the craftsmanship, and it's top notch -- everything is tight and secure, with no spaghetti wires running wild.
As the mass producers of the PC world continue their race to the bottom, it was refreshing to discover PCC and the world of truly custom, high-quality computers. Yes, the cost is higher than mass market, but in terms of real value, there's no question that this the way to go for those whose livelihood depends on their PCs.
I did have a problem with an external disk drive I ordered with the system, and that is being taken care of right now. A relatively minor glitch overall, so I would give PCC 4.75 stars out of 5."
"I was very impressed with the service. They advised me to buy a cheaper power supply than the one that I had originally ordered. It is nice to hear a company say you don't need something. I will buy from them again."
"they are alright i guess...
paid for two pentium m chips and received a core duo + core2duo instead.
would have been nice if either worked with the sgd115 shuttle i bought from newegg at the same time, however it uses only pentium m/celeron... so i had to send the shuttle back and eat a 30% restocking fee on $246.65.
have been trying to find a seller who takes money orders and has a motherboard (msi speedster) not newegg right now).
still not mad, especially if i ever find a motherboard to test these chips on before i die -- or the tech becomes outdated! i really love looking at all of the featured systems that rich people bought for themselves -- wish i had that kind of money! great pics!
i notice anytime i try to get a quote on something on their website, the price goes up the next day ie: i saw two sempron 64 for $18, right? kept watching the site for two months, sure that it had to be some sort of mistake... finally one night i bit, and the next morning, i checked my quote, the chip had now been pulled and the price had now jumped to $35.99! ahahahahaha @ myself. newegg does the EXACT SAME thing, so again, i ain't mad at them (pugetsystems). someday again they might have something i want to buy, so it's cool - all's fair in love and war. again, site looks nice and is easy to navigate, if not necessarily accurate. peace! hope this review was coherent enough for normal people.
edit: the owner was talking a lot of stuff to me in his email, so much so that i missed the part where he said that his company would cover the restocking fee. so, o.k. if somebody says something like that to me in writing, i figure they can't be all that bad, so i will change my rating."
"Seven months after purchase I still love my Puget Systems Desktop and will soon purchases a laptop.
I recently in ignorance used software inappropriately on my computer and the software locked. I also lost sound at the same time. I contacted Technical Suppost at Puget Systems and got the most astounding and outstanding support. I could not have asked for a more knowledgable, skilled, courteous and patient support person. Now everything is fine, there was nothing wrong with my system just my brain. Jean Kirkalnd"
"The Puget team goes far beyond duty in trying to get operational systems to people. I ordered two systems and one of the two has worked perfectly after a slight POSTing issue that was resolved by resetting the RTC (CMOS settings on the systemboard).
The second system had been through three shipments back and forth to Puget, and two technician visits, but ultimately would not stay "repaired". It's been through part replacements several times (systemboards, PSU, CPU, memory, Video cards, etc.), at very great expense and effort on Puget's part, my husband's time, my time, etc.
Most of the problems have been caused by the shipping company damage or by rapidly dieing parts.
The Puget folks have consistently acted honorably and in good faith through all these issues. I know beyond any doubt that they wanted to make this right each and every time a problem arose.
These systems were ordered 4/14, received 4/27 and ultimately the second system has been sent back for a refund. Please understand that this second system has not worked for more than 20 days during this 2.5 month experience.
Puget has been kind enough to grant me a full refund of the one system.

"Puget Custom Computers might make systems at a price point outside the average computer user, but the Customer Service that you get in return is well worth the additional money. Like everyone else who has owned a computer, I have gone through the layers of automated, foreign and uneducated tech support before you finally reach someone who has an idea. Time might be money, but it is also precious and wasting hours cycling through levels of tech support is no fun. I am very happy to say that my experience with Puget has been awesome. "Yes" they do actually respond via email quickly. "Yes" they will recommend system upgrades and downgrades in line with their customer's needs. "Yes" they will take your phone calls and answer your questions and they will get back to you if they need to check on anything.
I guess that I paid about $250 more for this system than a similar from Alienware or Dell. Is $250 worth avoiding the aggravation of shoddy tech support and 3 week delivery times? My answer - Absolutely!"
"My purchase experince was great! They very patiently worked with me to configure the custom computer the way I wanted and even helped me weed through my wish list to home in on what was practical. However, the first time I received my custom computer, it had several problems, including some serious hardware conflicts (later diagnosed to be mainly motherboard and TV tuner card). To be fair, some of the issues related to the newly released Vista OS and perhaps to be expected under the circumstances. Regardless, I had to send the system back.
What I am truly impressed with, though, is the entire experience I had in working with Puget to get the system fixed and returned to me. I had initially decided to just return it for a refund, but then sent them an e-mail with a detailed complaint. The very next day, I got a detailed response from the president of the company that point-by-point discussed every single concern I had raised. I gave them a very detailed and specific list of things that I wanted them to do before I could be convinced to let them fix the machine and send it back to me. Over the next several weeks, the president of the company personally worked with me to troubleshoot and fix every single issue I had raised. When I had a question - I always got immediate responses. I noticed that the president himself often stayed up into the early morning hours to make sure he got me an immediate answer. I am a very picky person, and the requirements I had specified for them were very stringent, specific, and in some cases unusual. They went out of their way to make sure that everything was done exactly as I wanted. I would recommend these guys to anyone looking for a custom computer without the slightest hesitation.
Everyone has a few things go worng on them once in a while, but to me the true test of the integrity of a company is how they deal with these problems and what kind of value they place on full customer satisfaction. In this regard, these guys came through with flying colors! They treated me like a king!"
"Very positive shopping experience! Placed order late Friday evening on June 8. I liked the abilty to order virtually all my own components, and got some good suggestions from their customer service folks. Also liked their web site, and the ability to check on the progress of my order at any time. Computer was built to my specfications, and delivered the next Friday, June 15. It seems to be a very well-made, quality computer. Exceptionally quiet and fast! Their customer service is excellent -- particularly compared to the major competitors in the computer field. They even helped me with the install of software that wasn't even part of the purchase. This seems to be a great company, making a great product. I highly recommend them! "
A rep from Puget Custom Computers, jonbach, has responded:
“Richard -
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback here. I have looked into the support incident you mentioned, and have confirmed that our tech dropped the ball. While a family emergency made it perfectly understandable that he was not available, we should have had a backup in place to make sure your support appointment was not dependent on him alone. I know your time is valuable, and I apologize that we did not fulfill our scheduled tech support phone call. I have taken this opportunity to implement a change to our support department procedures that will help eliminate mistakes like this. I want you to know you can count on us in the future to give you the support you need, when you need it.
Jon Bach - President
Puget Custom Computers”
