"Excellent customer service - attentive but not annoying. The computer is exactly what I wanted in a quiet system - with a few add-ons for the basic setup it is extremely quiet. And compared to other manufacturers of quiet systems, I found it was also a good bargain. I would certainly do business with them again. The excellent customer service was evident again when I had the system upgraded. The work was done quickly."
"The reason why I went with Puget was two-fold:
1. A co-worker of mine raved about everything about the company, from the customer service being so attentive, to the actual system having lasted fro so long without maintenance and having high quality parts.
2. I always research new compaines I deal with online. All reviews from all sources said that this was a great company.
They were all right! From the initial order and easy to follow customization screens, to the extremely helpful Mr. George at Customer Service. Every step of the order was sent to me quickly via email. I would suggest Puget Systems over any other major computer manufacturer: Dell, HP, anyone!"
"I usually build my own computers. However the Puget price was only 9% more than buying the exact same components (at Newegg). Only 9% to get a system that is assembled, burned-in, tested and supported? I think my system building days may be over.
The OS install is very clean. No extra programs, trials, upgrade offers, or other useless stuff that can take hours to hunt down and get rid of.
Sales folks very knowledgeable and helpful."
"I've purchased computers from top rep companies in the past (Falcon NW, Alienware, I'll even admit to Gateway and Dell). Took a chance on Puget Computers, partly from a desire for a quiet workstation, and partly from glowing reviews from other customers.
I'm absolutely, positively tickled pink with my new computer. It is by far the nicest rig I've ever owned; solid as a brick and quiet enough to not have to invent ways to hide/enclose/dampen it. If you are in the market for a high end workhorse (I do photo editing of D2X photos; each pic is 20MB in size), and you're tired of your computer sounding like a Lear jet on take-off, you must check out any of their Quiet configurations.
I run distributed computing apps (BOINC) in the background; they basically keep the CPU pegged at 100%. After receiving the machine, I installed SpeedFan, and used it to set the CPU fan speed. I discovered a) the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro can't be heard at or below 75% of it's speed setting, and that b) at that 75% it keeps my pegged CPU at a modest 47C. I've seen in forums that stock cooling setups under load often hit into the mid 60s.
Joy of joys, the ability to work a machine as hard as I want, and quiet as a mouse in my workspace. The fanless video card (NVidia 7600GT), has had no issue handling gaming either, and with no moving parts makes zippo contribution to noise.
I have assembled my own PCs in the past. I'll admit I was tempted do so again this time, until I started encountering the configuration woes others have experienced associated with my motherboard (it's the ASUS PW5DH, excellent board but difficult to install both the op system with all SATA drives, even optical, and a challenge to get the RAID configurations working). I decided the price premium to have someone else get it all working right at the start was worth it, and I think I've been proven right. My computer has been ready and willing straight out of the box, with not a single hiccup. All SATA drives, one 250GB master drive and a 960GB RAID0 config as data space for the photos. Clean as a whistle.

"Puget Systems builds a very good computer. It is the quietest computer I have ever owned. Buying a computer now days without all the extra software that takes up memory and disk space is also a plus. The opportunity to talk to a Puget Systems associate (Chris) to help you plan the system that works best for you and not overspend in areas that you can save on made it a good experience.
I few problems came up during the building process. They were handled in a very professional way and I believe this is what makes a big difference in the company you deal with. Customer service.

"Great company to deal with. They listened to what I wanted to build, made suggestions and did not over-build it. I was happy with the price and delivery and shipping was excellent. A great machine for video ediing. I'm very satisfied with the company and the end product especially the sales staff."
"I love personal attention! In spite of the fact
that they provided me with an all-world system,
my ability to continue conversation etc., is what sets them apart!"
"Just received my second computer from Puget. Ordered it on Friday 12/7 after 1PM and it shipped Monday 12/10! Not a pre-build either, I picked everything from the case to the paste they used on the heatsink.
My custom system arrived in less than a week. It was complete and nicely packaged, and took less than 20 minutes to unpack and fire up. It helps when all the guides/manuals are in a single box along with any extra pieces that came with the build.
One of the best things I like about Puget is that I worked with the same sales rep as I did a year ago when I ordered my first computer from them. William George just as helpful this time as last year. In fact, I paid for 2-day shipping from FedEx, at the end of day 2 it still had not arrived, I had even called FedEx that morning to see where my system was and the FedEx rep told me it was on the truck for delivery, of course it wasn't. When I sent William a e-mail explaining my frustration, he processed a claim for me the same day.
Another nice feature at Puget is they keep track of the systems you've purchased and you can review them just by logging in. I imagine that this would also be very helpful if you're looking to upgrade an existing system, instead of having to figure out all the part/model numbers you just log in and there it is.
I almost didn't go with Puget though, I shopped around and thought their prices had gone up when compared to other custom sites. A lot of it had to do with their recommended systems, Puget uses quite a few high-end parts that other builders don't and that's what is reflected in some of Pugets pricing. Don't be fooled by some of the lower prices you see elsewhere, I almost was, it wasn't until I started checking motherboards, chipsets, power supplies, etc. that I began to see where all the "savings" from other retailers were coming from. Every "bargain" system I was looking at used unknown manufacturers, and older motherboards/chipsets, and all had lower reseller ratings. To really compare prices used Pugets custom build and do your best to match exact features. In the end you'll have a tough time finding the same service.

"They were very straightforward and knowledgeable about what hardware would meet my needs and my budget. Their sales representative with whom I worked was prompt, friendly, and professional.
The tools on the website for configuring, ordering, and tracking are incredibly thorough and easy to use.
Unless my system arrives and there is something horribly wrong with it, I will definitely order the rest of my systems from Puget."
"I had used ResellerRatings.com to make my last purchase. Almost three years ago, Monarch was rated by many people as an elite custom PC provider. I ordered a PC from there and had a terrible experience (you can read about it in my Monarch review). I was ready to go back to buying Dell's ... but then I gave ResellerRatings.com one more chance, and I am glad that I did.
I browsed through the ratings looking for a custom PC vendor with pristine reviews. A few caught my eye but Puget Systems stood out. The website was exactly the way I wanted it to be. It didn't look as professional as it could, but it look decent enough to be trustworthy and the information flow and navigation made perfect sense to me.
The website provides you with recommendations (much appreciated for users like me who are too busy to research benchmark performance tests on the web all day long) without forcing you to use anything you were uncomfortable with.
I knew what I wanted ... a machine that was good enough for gaming, but would be used for more standard operations. I didn't need a world beater computer, but I wanted one that could impersonate one from time to time.
It was also Dec 16th (very late at night, pretty much the 17th already), and I wanted to get this PC by Christmas. Considering my experience in the PC-ordering industry (including a few years where I ran a consulting firm)... that was almost a ridiculous hope. Hardly any time to turn a custom PC around and ship it out, especially with the holiday backlog. I expected delays.
To give Puget a fighting chance, I actually went with one of their pre-configured systems as a base. I think I customized it a little bit but nothing that should cause any complexity in them building the system.
I saw that they recommended a 74gb 10,000 RPM SATA Raptor as the primary drive. Seemed kinda small to me ... so I went ahead and just asked for two 250 gb drives. I punched in my order and assumed I'd be lucky to get it a week after Christmas.
Later that night, I got an e-mail from Wilson. He said the configuration looked good (assumed he would since it was pretty much what Puget pumps out as their gaming standard -- complete with the Lian Li PC7H+ case they love to push). The only recommendation he made was for the Raptor drive, which he reminded me would be much faster as an OS drive. He sold me on the idea (of the value of a speedy C: drive and using the D: drive as a scratch area) ... even though I knew this would mean I would have to go out and get an external drive for a duplicate backup drive, but after years of seeing my C: drive performance degrade from using it to store MP3 files and such, I said what the heck and went with Wilson's suggestion.
The system I went with also offered a 10% off (across the board) discount, knowing a few hundred off the final price. Can't complain. Price wasn't much of an object for me, but it's nice to see a company hungry for your business.
3 days later on the 20th I get an email that says the computer is shipping (next day delivery). I was so shocked I had to figure out how to be home to actually retrieve the delivery. In fact, I missed the first attempt (which Puget made sure was a morning delivery), and got the PC later that evening around dinner time.
So I have fired the PC up and have had zero problems. It came double-boxed with all sorts of notes about keeping your boxes, spare parts and the care they put into it.
I was impressed to see the name of the tech (with time) next to each of the testing phases. In addition, it came with a document on all of the hardware details of each of the parts I ordered. Can't tell you how many Dell OptiPlex machines I bought for work puposes that I had to try to guess what the heck was in them a year after I bought them.
So far it runs like a champ (although I haven't really put it through any kind of heavy lifting). The PC is extremely quiet, with the exception of the Raptor drive, which is a little noisy for my tastes, but I don't buy PC's for their acoustics, I buy them for their performance (and reliability). As a driver, I like Honda/Acura. Sure, there's a little road noise, but the cars are reliable and built solid.
Puget has really impressed me, to the point where I am writing up this review and plan to refer my friends to their website (two things I rarely do).
Thanks Puget.

"I have bought from many companies before but I can honestly say as sceptical as I was (not being familiar with this company until lately) I really got more then I believed I would in all ways. The speed at which emails are answered and the build and quality of the final product and the super great packaging are unreal!
I hope to have many years of good use of this computer and I hope it will turn out down the road to be the work horse it looks like it is (so amazingly quiet!)"
"I'm personally glad for this opportunity to say "Puget Systems personal are very knowlegeable, courteous, very helpfull, in designing a computer system taylored for your needs. They worked with me for over an hour discussing which componets worked best for my applications. I've never dealt with such a fine shopping experience for anything before. They have excellant follow up support well!
I would reccommend Puget Systems to anyone that plans to buy a custom built computer. They sell a great service as well as great computer systems."

"Fast, personal service. Able to configure a quality system with no difficulty. Questions about proposed system answered in less than a day. Shipped system worked with no problems out of the box. "
" Decided I wanted a high performance gaming machine so I spent a month looking online at the various vendors. Looked long and hard especially at the gaming "boutique" builders. I came across Puget Custom Computers who were not even on my radar as a potential builder of my machine.
Looked at their website and was immediately impressed with the organization, detail, and level of thought for ease of customer use that someone had clearly put in. The thing that sets Puget apart and ultimately won them my business was the choices. Choices abound! You can customize your PC top to bottom any which way you want. And if you want something thats not on their expansive parts lists they will go out of their way to get it for you.
Placed my order online and communicated exclusively through email. Happily, they respond quickly, answered all my questions no matter how trivial. And most importantly made me feel comfortable with my purchase decision.
I waited on a new generation of video cards and there was a mix up with the power supply unit so there was a slight delay but everything worked itself out in the end.
My computer arrived Nov. 24th and was packaged well. Went to POST without issue and have been up and running for almost 2 weeks now without a hiccup. It's a beautiful machine and has plenty of muscle to drive a 30" LCD widescreen display at max resolutions of 2560x1600. Recently ran the the 3DMark06 benchmarking program and scored: 10663 3dMarks.
Glad to see they recently added a toll free number, ***-***-****. I am very pleased that I went with Puget. They met all my expectations and than some. Highly recommended."
" The staff at Puget Custom Computers was very usefull in helping me select system components that would be compatible in a system and which would satisfy my computer needs while still staying within my budget. They did not try to sale me anything I didn't want or need. The components they use are quality ones. They responded promptly to all my questions. They assembled the system within a matter of days and shipped it. I got an initial quote on Oct 20, an invoice by Oct 25 and the machine at my home by Nov 3. The computer arrived in good condition and with all the components it was supposed to have.
The only problem I encountered concerned the installed drivers on the new system. I had a few frustrating days trying to load some of my programs on the new computer. It took some time to figure out why I was having install problems and more time to correct. It turned out that some of the drivers they installed were not the latest available and that resulted in my spending a lot of time diagnosing what was wrong, locating/downloading/installing what was needed to correct the problems, and starting over on the program installs that didn't work before. Not a serious problem but a frustrating one and one that could have been avoided. Once all was updated, everything installed and runs smooth.
This one glitch does not amount to much when I consider that Puget has a very professional staff, an efficient assembly and shipping procedure, quality components and a reasonable price. I highly recommend their company to anyone wanting a quality home computer specifically assembled for their needs..
