"This was a fantastic experience. Despite my incessant bombardment of questions, they were courteous and prompt to respond. Their customer support was excellent, and helped me put together a computer that is exactly what I wanted (despite my having some configuration ideas to the contrary, which they helped me to turn into the system I have now). I am very pleased with this purchase!"
"I was extremely pleased with the whole experience. Puget let me configure a placeholder system before Intel announced the Core 2 Duo processors, and then update it as soon as they had pricing info. They then built and shipped me a Core 2 Extreme system less than two weeks after Intel announced the processors.
One of Puget's main advantages over their competition is their order status page. From most builders, you spend days or weeks in "Pre-assembly" waiting for all the components to be assembled. Puget's website shows which parts are on hand and which are being waited on, but also when they are expected (and once they are shipped, you can even track the packages as the parts are shipped to Puget, so you know as soon as they do when a part arrives).
Also, I notice that a lot of people rank Puget lower on price. I configured similar systems at all the major custom builders, and Puget was the lowest price (yes, higher than Dell, but Dell doesn't make a liquid-cooled system; they were lower than Alienware, Velocity, Voodoo, Falcon Northwest, and some others). Not only that, but in reviewing my configuration they talked me out of some more expensive options that I really didn't need, eventually making the price only a few hundred more than the Dell XPS 700 which I had cancelled when my ship date was slipped into October.
Oh, and they have a Windows Vista upgrade program that lets you (a) trade in your video card for a Directx 10 version and (b) ship your system back to them to have them install Vista for you. This put them over the top for me.
I can highly recommend them, and my future purchases are likely to all be Puget Systems."
"great Customer service. did everthing in their power to help you out. I will definitly buy from them again."
"I'm not sure what you want here. A comment on my invoice?"
"Puget Computers provided excellent pre-sales support, answering my questions quickly and accurately. Their suggestions were not veiled attempts at up-selling me on features I didn't need, but were instead intended to get me the PC that suited my needs the best. The PC worked fine right out of the box, and has been great ever since. And, true to the their claims, it is *very* quiet!"
"Just received my computer from Puget Custom Computers (PCC) and I could not be happier. I ordered the computer on Wednesday July 28th, 2006 and it was delivered today (August 4th). This is a very quick turn around time for a custom system.
The first thing I did was opened the case to check for loose components, everything was secured and hot glued into place. The cable wiring was extremely neat.
The computer itself is awesome:
Antec 180 Case
Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe
AMD 4200+ Dual Core Socket AM2
2GB Corasir XMS DDR800 RAM
ATI X1900XT 512MB Video Card
150GB Western Digital Raptor 10000RPM Hard Drive
Very competitve price compared to other custom builders.
This company has great service and will accomodate you the best they can. Do not hesitate to order. Buy American....stay away from Dell!"
"I have purchased computers from the big name manufacuturers, a boutique store and I have built two from the ground up myself. I received (or rather picked up as they are local for me) my new Puget Custom Computer a week ago. This has been one of the most pleasant major purchase processes I have ever been through. From my initial contact, through to the final purchase, Chris and Richard were both remarkably responsive and helpful. Even when I submitted my final order, and there was a question on the final total, John stepped right in and clarified the issue. (Note that the error was due to a misunderstanding on MY part!).
Their website configuration system is simply excellent, and the ability to track the progress of the actual build of the computer is a shining example of their dedication to rapid and responsive customer service.
I would not necessarily recommend Puget Computers two the completee newbie computer user as some technical knowledge is helpful in configuring your purchase and while the final delivery package is replete with original disks and manuals, basic "How To's" for the novice are sparse. Nevertheless, these guys are a solid 10 out of 10 and I would not hesitate to make another purchase or recommend them to a friend or colleague. Outstaning job, team!"
"Buying from Puget Custom Computers was an easy and pleasant experience. The website is easy to use and allows you to submit an order with whatever specifications you like and request that a real live human being review your order with you. I did and had a very helpful 45 minute chat with a PCC employee that saved me a bunch of money and answered a lot of questions I had but had been too embarrased to ask. He also talked me out of buying an LCD monitor from them in order to save on the shipping costs, arguing that I could find a similarly priced model near me and what I would lose in sales tax, would make up in savings for the shipping of an extra box. I'm always impressed when a company turns down making a few extra dollars to steer a customer in a more practical direction. Checking in on the website to see what tests had been done on the computer was a thrill and so was following it across the country through the link PCC had with the shipper. When the machine arrived it was clean, packed neatly, with all manuals and reference materials handy. I opened up the case and was very pleased with how tidily things were put together. The main benefit of a custom computer for me was to avoid the proprietary software of the large manufacturers, and selecting my own components was a nice way to avoid that. All my interactions with PCC staff were pleasant and helpful. I was very happy with my PCC buying experience."
"My colleague in IS was setting up network connections and software on my new system from Puget. He commented that I had ordered some pretty "interesting" hardware and that he could tell from the packing, documentation on installation and care with which items had been intalled on my new system that the company was first rate. I have been very impressed with the support that I received in selecting components for my system.
I'll definately do business with them again."
"I wanted a quiet, well built computer that was extremely fast. Well, Puget delivered, this is one fine machine. The response to any questions I have had has been extremely prompt and helpful. This computer is everything I had hoped it would be. I will buy again from this company. "
"I did a whole lot of research when looking for the right computer. Thats how I stumbled in to Puget. I was very pleased with the options they offered and the input from the various company rep's. All my questions were answered very quickly and I got the information I requested. I received the computer and have only had it for a few days, but I can say that thus far the machine is SCREAMIN', (in a good way) It's acctually one of the quietist computers I have ever hardly herd! I am very pleased thus far and am doing my best to reccomend Puget to eveyone I know. A truley great experience from finding the website to getting the computer and putting it to work. I highly reccomend Puget to anyone who is still making considerations. I will deffinitly be coming back again. Thanks Puget Custom Computers! "
"The crew at Puget Custom Computers was very friendly and responded to my email inquiries promptly. I spoke with a representative over the phone and was impressed as he talked me out of more expensive options that did not suit my needs. They built my computer quickly and their website has a feature that kept me updated on the build's progress. When I received my computer it was packaged very securely. I ordered a Lian-Li case, which they have special boxes for.
Overall there were only two glitches. The onboard sound on the motherboard failed. I was able to contact Puget via an online support chat session, which was acutally really convenient. Once we troubleshot the problem to the onboard sound they decided to send me a sound card, FREE OF CHARGE! This really impressed me. They offered to ship the computer back to them to fix it, but I was anxious to get gaming, so I decided to install the soundcard myself.
The only other problem was a USB cable became disconnected during shipping. After another brief chat session the problem was solved.
Overall this company is incredibly responsive and the representatives are friendly and knowledgeable. They are a great option for those of us who want a quality custom computer, plenty of build options, but don't have the knowledge or wherewithall to build a machine ourselves.
The only drawback is price. If I had built my machine myself or went to a discount site like cyberpowerpc/ibuypower I could have paid between $200-400 less. In my opinion, the difference in price is more than made up for by their excellent support. "
"I order my PC on July 3rd. It was finally shipped on July 11th. When I received the PC on July 14th the fan and hard drive were unsecured and out of place while the heat sink was on the other side of the computer. Called support and got a generic message asking me to call back. I am very unhappy with my experience and am considering just asking for my money back."
"Now that I have run my new computer through all the paces I am very happy with the job Puget Systems did. They were always accessible and helped allot in finding exactly what I needed to do VHS capture and encoding to dvd. They listened to what I wanted and helped me whith "tweaking" the specs. I highly recommend them for any custom computer building."
"Puget Systems' quality of workmanship and attention to detail is unmatched by any Tier 1 vendor (IBM, HP, Dell, Sun) that I can think of.
Puget's workmanship quality is top notch and the performance is simply phenomenal. If you are in the market for a custom-built system, Puget Systems is the way to go. And after you get your first system from them, I'll guarantee that you'll order from them again!

A rep from Puget Custom Computers, jonbach, has responded:
“I am very sorry for your troubles. I have determined over the phone with you that your machine was severely damaged in shipping, and that you are returning it for full refund. We double box our computers, in triple walled cardboard, with formed foam packing, so our damage rates are very low. I regret this exception, but we are happy to provide you with a timely and full refund as soon as the machine is returned.”
