"Puget Systems staff were all very supportive and helpful. My final sales rep was Jeff Stubbers. They were fully willing to discuss all my pre-sale (and post-sale)questions. And made suggestions to help me get the machine I wanted, balancing price with features (and weight).

Pricing is a bit on the steep end, but I guess when you are buying a custom-built laptop that is to be expected. This was a far better experience (so far) than purchases from TigerDirect or NewEgg. I am sure a machine "close" to my needs would have been cheaper, but then I didn't want a machine "close" to my needs.

I was able to order a 15" laptop with the maximum of 16GB RAM, an i7 Mobile 2.7GHz processor, 1TB SSD hard drive, swap out the DVD space with a holder for a second 2.5 hard drive, Win 7 Professional, a matte screen, and no bloatware. I am thrilled with the configuration.

I did want a second 1TB SSD hard drive, but the Puget price for the 1TB SSD was substantially higher than what was available elsewhere (like B&H Photo). Puget built the machine with it already designed for me to install that second drive myself after buying from B&H.

"If you limited me to a single word for this review, it would be "BEST." Puget is everything I look for in a shopping experience - competent, friendly, knowledgeable, prompt, easy to work with, reliable, and great products. I have purchased PCs from a variety of companies from single-owner businesses to large companies like Dell, and Puget stands out above them all. I have always worked with William George in customer service/sales and he is quite expert and steers me towards the best solution for my needs, rather then trying to sell me the most expensive solution. On follow thru their service department is also exceptional. Other than I wish they were open longer hours and on weekends, they are always reachable and it is such a joy to talk to someone who speaks English fluently and is truly knowledgeable about my particular custom-built PC. I have now had my PC 6 months and they sent me an email to schedule a free checkup.

On this particular order, I realized after I received my PC that, thru no fault of Puget's, I really needed something completely different, since my personal circumstances had changed. They made it incredibly easy to ship my unit back and exchange it.

I was originally drawn to Puget because I read that they make quiet and even "silent" PCs, and they certainly do. Today, however, my interest more stronly lies in a custom unit, built to meet my needs, and loaded with absolutely no software that I have not specifically requested.

I buy a PC about every 5 to 6 years and I hope that Puget will still be in business when it is time for my next one.

Note: I did not check the "Puget asked me to write this," although indeed they encouraged it. I did not check the box because I would have written a review anyway and they simply guided me to a cite where the review would be of greatest benefit to them.

"What an awesome company, they were great from the initial design of the computer asking about what I would use it for and any outliers that I might have forgotten about. They were great about giving me ideas for less expensive ways to do the things I wanted to have and where I could upgrade without it costing me a fortune and all over building me a fantastic computer! And they were patient, I must have called 6 or 7 times over a few weeks before I finally decided to build it. Shipping and packing was perfect as well, just the right amount of packing without it being overwhelming but nothing short of a fall could have hurt it.
