"After purchasing a $2,000 Princess Cruises card on the site, I went to utilize it to pay for my cruise which had to paid for by that evening. The card would not go through and when I checked the balance on the site it said the card number was invalid. I waited some time and tried repeatedly with the same outcome. Thus, I had to pay for my cruise with a credit card. I filled a card problem with Raise and received no response. I called and a half hour of waiting on hold repeatedly, I was told it would be resolved. After no response, I emailed regarding the fact that it had not been resolved but received no response from the company. So, I phoned again and after 41 minutes of waiting on hold again, was told that my refund for this invalid card was denied even though they state a Money-Back Guarantee on invalid cards. The reasoning is that now they have supposedly added the funds to the balance of the card, but even if that is true, it was not valid when I needed to use it. Having a balance now does not help me in any way. They did not provide me with the product I purchased and did not stand behind their Money-Back Guarantee. I as the customer received an invalid card, had to email and call repeatedly due to their mistake, had to have both their gift card cost and the cruise payment charged to my card at the same time due to their error and now I am denied the promised refund. That is fraud and false advertising. Don’t believe their guarantee."
"I placed several orders with the site but only two of them were delivered. have tried calling the support number but no one answered the call even after 4 hours of waiting. This company has not invested a penny in customer support. Absolutely the worst experience! Be warned!

"Do not sell your gift cards to Raise, they will not pay you back! I have complained to the BBB and the FTP already but I feel compelled to write on this platform to warn other consumers..
On June 21, 2019 - I listed a gift card on Raise, it sold pretty quickly and I was given a withdrawal receipt once I withdrew. They claimed that it was going to be in my paypal account within 48 - 72 hours. I waited and nothing.
I reached out to ****@**** and reached a person by the name of Rhys - who claimed she couldn't help me at all unless I called. I told her I couldn't call because I was in an area with poor cell reception and even downloading those google call apps did not work for toll free #s.
She never responded, I emailed her over and over again with no response.
Finally, I got really frustrated and tweeted Raise and messaged on instagram. Raise responded via instagram and we have been going back in forth for the last 4 days with nothing being resolved.
They keep letting me know that it was sent in paypal but I spoke with paypal via chat and they saw nothing pending.
The instagram person stopped responding.
So I filed a BBB and FTC complaint.
So I sold a giant corporation my gift card i got from my birthday that I couldn't use because I am in the military and they took my money and will not return my emails.
They are scammers. I will continue to spread awareness and file as many complaints as possible to make sure I am heard. Just because you are a corporation does not mean you get to treat your consumers like idiots.

"I have spent thousands of dollars with raise.com the past few months and everything went fine. I made a purchase of 5 $200 Lowe's Gift Cards and went to use them the same day online. One of the cards said it was invalid. No big deal I thought. I got ahold of Raise and they agreed it says the card is invalid. They told me to wait 6 days for an investigation and they would email me within 6 days. I was irritated as it should be pretty easy at this point to just give me another card or my money back, but nope. 7th day goes by and nothing, I had to call them again. They gave me the run around again and told me 10-14 business days to complete an investigation. 15th business day I had to call them. I am now told I had to wait 72 hours and they will send me an email after their supervisor gets back to me.
This is just unacceptable. This wasn't a card that had the balance disappear, it was invalid from the get go. And now here I am 30 days later with still no money. I paid with my credit card but I've read they will ban your account if you do a chargeback but if it comes to it I will be using my credit card company to get my $200 back. Regardless, if I finally do get my $200 back through raise and it does happen again I will just be going straight to my credit card company and saving myself their stall tactics trying to get me to go away. What terrible customer service and a joke of a guarantee.
Edit: Its now been over 72 hours later and like clockwork, no one ever called or emailed me like promised. At least their consistent. "
"I have been using raise for a very long time. spent a lot of money with this **** company.
recently, for the first time, I had a problem with one of the two Groupon gifts card I bought. when I went to redeem the gift cards one worked and one didn't. I reported it and a unprofessional agent "Louis" ask me for proof, they wanted a screenshot of stating the gift card is invalid showing the gift card number. which I did and he claims that that's not how you redeem the gift card. It really doesn't matter how I redeem the gift card. as long as I am redeeming it on the actual website and not from a 3rd party website. Plus, I understand if I was redeeming one gift card, but I was redeeming two gift cards and one worked just fine the way I was redeeming it.
I told him that he was wrong and get his facts right before giving me the wrong answer. took over 3 days. nothing was solved. I had to email over 5 times for him to respond back twice. very unprofessional, unorganized, and uneducated. I believed he did not want to admit the fact he was wrong and kept saying he can't refund me. BS gave them proof. he needs to **** up his ego and admit he was wrong. I even mention their 1-year fake **** guarantees. no standard what so ever about their policy. FAKE ADVISEMENT
I called customer service, the lady kept putting me on hold. I ask for a manager she came back on the phone with no manger and try to offer me $5 Raise cash for the inconvenience. $5 freaking dollar?!?! for a $48 purchase.
how sweet. how about I give you a penny and you guys give me a $100 gift card? sound fair right!
at this point. no one can come up with a solution at Raise so I just reported to my credit card company that the charge was a fraud.
WILL NEVER USE RAISE AGAIN. they don't care about their loyal customers that been with them many many years. spending hundreds of dollars.
I want everyone to know and be aware when using Raise. you might get lucky but when that one bad gift card you get, you might not get your money back.!"
"Ordered $900.00 for Best Buy gift card total of 9 cards. Same day used 9 cards at best buy site to buy a TV and 2 of those cards got declined and amount was charged to my credit card. I'm trying for a month to get it resolve and after staying on phone with them for more than 2 hours they gave me temporary credit of $198.00. After 1 month their investigation team came back saying that they don't have access to my best buy account and per brand those were cleared. I have receipt from them and statement from Discovercard. Lets see they will come up. For $10.00 saving I have to go through this hassle and my $198.00 at risk. This is ridiculous and will be my last time using their service"
"I bought $200 amc gift card and used only couple times then all balance has gone to $0.00
Asked customer service but no response more a month.
Terrible customer service ever experience."
"You don’t exist after they get your cc number. Phones”offline” and no return calls or email for support. Nothing but hassle over 5 bucks. This outfit should be snuffed by the BBB and AG. Call your credit card company and contest the charge if you unfortunate enough to do business with these clowns. "
"Bought a $50 restaurant gift card through Raise.com. When we went to pay server said there was no money left on it. I put in a claim on March 22. It is now April 8th and still no word from Raise. I called and finally got through to someone after much time on hold. Agent was very unapologetic and said they are still looking into it and I’ll have to wait. I asked to speak to a supervisor. She said they were “all in a meeting” and someone would call me back. Finally someone did call me back and he was even more apathetic than the first person! He basically said I’d have to wait until they “look into it” and I’m not the only customer here, the seller is the customer too! Wow. OK. This is a good concept for a business, but is run very unprofessionally and customer service is horrible. I guess I’ll have to contact higher up authorities to try to get my money back if I don’t hear from them soon. Seems like a scam. Buyer beware!"
"Customer service is awful. Very rude and unprofessional. Called around 7pm EST 3/14/19 and female said she was the only person in the department and no one else to speak to and then hung up on me and deactivated my account. All because I asked to change the phone number. She said I had another account?? Wrong. Wouldn't listen to a word I said after she made that assumption and repeatedly cut me off when I tried to speak. I would not trust this company."
"3 years ago, I purchased numerous gift cards from Raise totaling close to $800. One of them was to an upscale restaurant for $200. Since I don’t live near the restaurant, and intended to give it as a gift but never did so just tried to use it and there is no money left on it. The manager at the store could look back on the gift card and told me exactly what days it was used and for what amount. Obviously it wasn’t me as I had not been to that restaurant out of town on any of those days. Contacted Raise customer service representative, and was told there was nothing they could do because it had been more than one year since I purchased it. Then the service rep apologized for the for the “inconvenience”, and told me to have a good day. Certainly being out $200 is not an inconvenience. And why in the world would you tell a customer to have a good day after they’ve just learned that they’ve been duped out of $200, and probably more since I bought more gift cards than just this one and probably have not used all of them yet.
It makes no sense why a gift card cannot be valid for more than one year when you buy gift cards anywhere else there’s no expiration date on them, I don’t understand why Raise would be different. I’m guessing they must resell the cards one year after the date of them being purchased because they’re supposedly not liable after that. It’s very obvious now how they make their money. It’s underhanded and fraudulent and obviously I will never do business with Raise again and I will do my best to make sure everyone knows what kind of company they are. "
"Here is my story:
I initially made a BP Gas Giftcard purchase with $10 discount and a few hours later, when I check back, I found I mistakenly input the address and immediately send a request to update the address, Raise didn’t promptly responded until the item was shipped to the wrong address. The email asked me to wait until the card is returned back to them and will be re-shipped again, and I reply back to request to freeze the card......, but they don’t respond back.
However, after weeks later, since I tried to send a few emails and get no more respond again, I requested my credit card company to get the refund because Raise didn’t respond, after that, Riase freeze my account without advance notice.
This is the story of my own experience."
"Purchased a $100 HF gift voucher several years ago to purchase a tile saw. Plans got delayed and when I went to use at Harbor Freight it came up on their register as still worth $100 but inactive. They tried to call raise for 20 minutes and never got through. I emailed them and they said, "the brand didn't accept vouchers only actual cards." Strange if they sold me the voucher? The stupid twit Lisa said as "a courtesy" they would give me $10 raise cash. $10 for $100. She said they have a 1-year guarantee and it was past that. However, that was recently added and the voucher itself didn't state it would ever expire. I've had other cards that were bled dry apparently to employees going through records and if the cards weren't used in a while they zero them out. You judge if you want ANYTHING to do with these criminals. "
"I purchased a Caribou Coffee gift card in Oct 2018. Went to use it over Thanksgiving and was told there was no money on the card. Raise initially gave me a refund, then in January they sent me an email saying they were taking the refund back. I talked to two people who pretty much accused me of being dishonest. In the end they can only refund me if I can provide "evidence" that I did not use the card! Closing my account!"
"I purchased a Southwest Airline Gift Card, went through. That was my test. $200 discounted gift card! Perfect. I went to get a Dunkin Donut card for $50. Ordered it and waited. Checked "My Cards". Nothing there. I waited 2 hours, and then hit some buttons and it stated order was cancelled. I didn't cancel the order, so I went back in and it stated my account was locked. I can buy a $200 gift card with no problem. For a $50 one I have to call Customer Service. Which doesn't do much good when it's a weekend!
I thought I would be using this for many years based on my first transaction. They blew it on the second transaction and no notification!"
