"I purchased a gift card that have a listed value of $171.11 and paid $167.06 for it. The gift card was only listed of a few minutes before I purchased it. I went to pay for something online and they only took off $166.67. I checked the value of the gift card and it was reported as $166.67. I called Raise.com and they will refund the money in 5-7 business days. The agent on the phone told me that they check the balances of all their gift cards. Really? So, why did I pay .39 more then the value for a gift card? And waiting 5-7 business for my money back doesn't help me. I think I deserve more then an apology and refund for the aggravation."
"Raise is helping me to save over $10,000 over the past year. It's a trustworthy company with great customer service. I had some issues with certain gift cards, but, each time the issues were resolved to my satisfaction. No doubt this is a successful company."
"Raise is a quick way to save more money on things you already purchase! It's fast, convenient. Sometimes if I find something in a store that I want to buy, I purchase a gift certificate in the store on my phone, and then use it at the checkout. What could be easier than that? For gifts, I just print out the certificates or send them via email. Especially great when you need a quick gift!"
"I was able to get my sister 2 gift cards for her favorite places for the price I of one. She was thrilled with the value and the stores I got her. I love the price I got them for and how easy it was for me to print them out. New favorite place for last minute gifts or even to save on our shopping ourselves."
"I love Raise.
I'm the kind of person who likes to save a buck. I still like to eat out, buy clothes, and do all the fun things... but I like saving money too. It bothers me to no end to spend retail price on anything. We should get paid to buy the things we already buy, right?
Right.
I recommend everyone sign up for Raise.com. Think about it. Why spend full price at Old Navy? You can find a gift card around 20% off. That's $20 off a $100 purchase. Buy the discounted gift card with a cash back reward card, like a Capital One card that gives 1.5% back, and that's another $1.20 off. You just paid $78.80 for $100 worth of Old Navy gift cards.
Now doesn't that feel nice? It's like getting free money for something you were going to buy anyway.
They send the digital gift card right to your smartphone, so you can literally get in line to check out, and be ready to pay with it when it's your turn. Win.
I honestly can't recommend it enough. I never, EVER pay retail for anything, and you shouldn't either.
Sign up for Raise.com, thank me later."
"I bought two Lowes e-gift cards from Raise.com last year. Lowes refused to honor them and Raise refused to refund my purchase. All over the internet, there are reports from dozens if not hundreds of other customers having the same problem with Lowes e-gift cards that they purchased at Raise. Their "customer service" reps are totally useless. They just read from a script and try to get you off the phone any way they can. The company's responses here are similar -- sorry for the inconvenience, blah blah blah, but they won't refund your money. The bottom line is that company policy is to cheat customers. As you can see from so many other reviewers here, Raise refuses to give refunds even when the merchant won't honor the fake cards that they sell."
"Took the money first....then required verification....
Order a card, first timer, they email asking for me to call and verify some things.....sure, hey, i get it. That type of site pulls stolen cards alot I'm sure, so no issue. I call, do some BS verification....i say BS, because i used PayPal, the questions they asked i would have known had i stolen the account. Anyhow,26hrs pass, card still says processing, i email, get another identical email telling me to call and verify. And i do mean identical, completely ignoring anything written in my email to them. Went to live chat instead, tells me he can't do anything ill have to call and verify, even after telling him, i already did! How much BS info can you possibly need to verify? Told chat person to cancel order(which that he apparently can do), praying i see my refund. The whole thing feels more like they're farming marketing information on people rather than selling gift cards. Steer clear, saving 7$ per 100 is not worth the hassle. "
"As a Christmas gift my mother paid for some gift cards for me that I ordered with Raise.com. This was my first time using them although I have been a member for a while. We used my mother's credit card in my account and we actually expected there to be additional verification needed since the name on the account and the name on the credit card were different. I placed the order and then got a cancellation email about an hour later. I tried ot log back into the site to see if I could find additional information, but I was blocked from logging back in, so I called their customer service number. The first person I spoke to was very sweet, but then she transferred me to "Clark". My conversation with him was a totally different experience. Listen, I TOTALLY get that they need to take precations with online orders and fraud, however his attitude was just horrible. I spoke to me like I was a child and refused to help me in any way. I said that I was unable to log back in and asked if my account was disabled, and he just said "yes". I waited a few seconds to see if he would offer further explaination, but he just sat on the line. Again, I ABSOLUTLY UNDERSTAND that there might need to be additional verification in this situation and my mother and I were waiting to see if they would need more information, but to just have the order cancelled and my account shut down is a bit extreme. Then, to add insult to injury, to have to speak to a customer service representative who was completly condisending and unhelpful was infuriating!
Ironically, while I was waiting to be connected I did a quick Google search for Raise.com reviews and this site popped up. the very first review says that "Clark" was horrible! I NEVER write reviews and I usually take negative reviews with a grain of salt since so many are wriotten after someone doesn't get their way, but in this case the reviews are true!! I think they need to take a look at this employee and see if they have a problem on their hands."
"Wish we would have looked at the reviews before buying from Raise.com. And their responses to everyone's problems are exactly the same thing they say to everyone who calls. They are a sham and unless you want to look embarrassed to your friends when you give them an invalid giftcard,, then don't go through raise.com. How embarrassing to get a call from our friends after we gave them a giftcard for Christmas only to hear they had to use their own money for their dinner, because the giftcard we gave them wouldn't work. How does Raise not verify the giftcards they are selling? Wouldn't that be something you would do as a company? I don't care the extra work it might take...look at all these bad reviews. I will tell my friends and their friends as well as anyone else who will listen what a sham this company is. We bought 75 in gift cards....the 9 dollars I may have been saving was not worth the embarrassment on both ends. After sitting on the phone for almost 30 minutes and being transferred how many times, they acted like they were doing me a favor by refunding my money that I spent to buy the gift cards. They told me the giftcards were already used. They did offer me a $10 Raise gift card. I would have been better off just going to the store and spending $75 on the giftcards and not being embarrassed, not having them be embarrassed. Now not only do I need to refund my friends the $75 dollars I gave them, I need to pay for their dinner that they had to pay for. And Raise...unless you are going to pay my friends for their dinner and refund me the $75 dollars please DO NOT respond to this post. Your answers to all the other posts are exactly the same thing you told me. And telling a customer to call when you are going to give the same bs that you already gave the customer is ridiculous. You are trying to answer these posts like you are a good customer service company, but clearly your customer service ****. You have to give me my money back...you are not doing anyone any favors by offering to give us our money back. You sold us a invalid giftcard that we gave to someone else. You ****."
"Use this website if you want to deal with a headache because of customer service. I used this website before and it was okay at best because of customer service but this was the last time I will ever use it. I was trying to verify my order and Clark was insulting and had a disgusting attitude towards me and I was honestly confused. I was just trying to verify my order and he was just mocking and being disrespectful to someone who was trying to do business with them. Never using this website again.
Also take the "5" star reviews with a grain of salt and check their profiles, they seem fishy."
"I place my first order to buy Itunes gift cards and everything was processed online. For my second order, they required me to call in and did a security verification over the phone to make sure I was real. That's pretty good security and makes me trust Raise even more.
That said, presumably I won't have to do this again now that Raise has securely verified me, my phone, and my email address."
"Raise is one of the worst retailers I've ever dealt with.
I purchased a Whole Foods gift card for $25 and printed out my voucher. When I attempted to use my voucher at a Whole Foods market, they denied the transaction- said they never heard of Raise and I should speak to them about my gift card.
I then called a Raise customer service representative who let me know she was able to verify the credit still exists for my gift card. However, they are unable to transfer the balance anywhere so my money is just sitting there, inaccessible to me. I asked the customer rep if I'm basically unable to use my money and her reply was "Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may cause, and we would like to offer you a discount on your next purchase. Enter code 5ONRAISE for $5.00 off your next order over $50.00." Seeing that the only purchase I've ever made at Raise was a terrible experience, I guaranteed her that I will never purchase from their business again.
If you would like to spend your hard earned money wisely, I strongly suggest you to not waste it at this retailer."
"I placed my first order today and used Paypal to pay. I didn't receive my ecertificate, so after several hours I tried to log in to my account to see the status. I wasn't able to log in, so I used the live chat. The person simply said I was to call, she was unable to help me. I called, explained the situation, and was transferred, where I explained the situation again. The person told me that the Paypal account I used was registered to someone else, so they cancelled my order and suspended my account with them. I assured him that it was my account, I use it all the time, and what should I do? Rudely, he said I needed to sort things out with Paypal. I immediately called Paypal, and they said my account was totally fine and they didn't know what in the world Raise was talking about. I don't appreciate not getting any notification from Raise that there was a problem (which there isn't!). And, when I called, I felt like the person I was talking to was acting like I was a criminal of some sort and not willing to try to help me at all."
"I ordered my egift and I received it right away"
"OMG. Been on the phone for TWENTY-EIGHT minutes with these guysthis morning! I explained that $125 worth of Panera gift cards arrived with ZERO balances! I've emailed, called, etc. for MONTHS and have gotten NO WHERE. After all that time on the phone, they tell me that SOME OTHER DEPARTMENT NEEDS TO HANDLE THIS (I called the phone # ON THEIR WEBSITE) and they will be contacting me. WTH????? This is NOT the way to treat GOOD customers!!!"
