Took the part of of the packaging to test fit on my car and now impossible to return it because it was "installed or used". Looking to buy another $100 in parts now because of misinformation and their poor customer service. Will not shop there again unless it is for an obscure part that cannot be found anywhere else."

I ordered upper and lower hoses weeks in advance. Parts arrived, they were totally incorrect.
You cannot talk to a human. They are clever at discouraging returns. I sent a email and their reply was I can send the item back if I pay half the shipping!
Same order I ordered a washer pump for a different vehicle, ordered 2 and they only sent 1. Still have not reconciled that.
I think you can save money with them if you are ordering very generic items like a case of 30001 oil filters. I will never order anything that there is a possibility of messing up an application. In the end I will not buy from any company that cannot answer their phone."

"I've been a Rock Auto customer for exactly 1 month until now. Last week I ordered a radiator and it said it was delivered on Wednesday. It never arrived. FedEx can't find it and Rock Auto is just giving me the run around. Poor customer service and no real person to talk to. Even my u joints got shipped to Honolulu, Hawaii. I live in Texas. I don't know if I will ever get them either. No more shopping at Rock Auto !!!"
"I bought an ac compressor from this outfit, the darn thing blew up IMMEDIATELY upon low pressure switch activation. No return/no refund - warranty MAYBE but they make you jump through the hoops so that it's totally worthless. They cite "manufacturer's policy" but I bought from them, not the manufacturer. And yes, I did replace related components (also purchased from them at the same time). But they wanted a receipt from a shop which is totally ridiculous. Now I not only have to buy a new compressor (you bet, not from them!) but also flush the system, replace receiver/dryer. I used to buy quite a few things from them in the past, and usually had no issues. One time they sent me a wrong part and - again - made me jump through the hoops. Once I managed to convince them that I did have the vehicle I claimed I had and that the part did not fit, they agreed to pay 50% of the shipping cost.

"I have to say that the part i purchased were quite a bit cheaper on this site than others but upon having them on my vehicle for a year now I perhaps might see why I paid a better price. I purchased new control arms, upper and lower for both sides of my truck, I also purchased 2 CV axles and after a year after installation, all of the rubber booths and ball joints seals are cracked if not broken outright leaving full exposure to dirt. And after noticing, i tried to go to the rockauto site to see if there was a warranty and it did show 1 year on my parts. Honestly, they were broken before the 1 year date but I did not take note to it before. The rockauto site is very difficult or frustrating site to move through to access contact or what to do if you have a problem. And for this reason, I am saying that I litterally have to replace my CV axles again and also the ball joints because they will probably not last very long with exposure to dirt. So did I save money ? I would say no! Better to buy from a local site and get good quality parts and service should something go wrong. "
"Ordered a front hub bearing for an '03 Malibu. Internal diameter of bearing larger than spline of half axle resulting in horrible metal on metal sound and immovable vehicle. Request for return was denied because part had been installed!!! How the he'll else do you see if a part fits? Problem made worse by lack of personnel to service customers. First and last order from this outfit. Caveat emptor."
"Purchased a starter. It did not fit. When I attempted to return, I noted I had attempted to install the starter, but it did not fit. Now I cannot even explain the installation was not successful as the bolt holes did not match. Very poor customer service. "Purchased a starter that was suppose to be OEM. Reviewed the old with the new starter and thinks looked fine. Installed new starter and hooked up the battery.
Started the ignition and the car started but the started keep cranking. Tried to turn key to off no luck it had burnt up the ignition in a matter of seconds. I took the battery terminal off to cut power and the new starter was smoking and I couldn’t even touch it.
Paid 85 towing and another 387 for the ignition to be repaired and a new starter installed for another 300 dollars. An STarter from the dealership. I was getting ready to go on vacation but had to wait a day to get my vehicle fixed. The item that Rockauto said was oem was incorrect. It was professionally installed by a mechanic.
I have read a lot of issues regarding Rockauto not taking responsibility for the items they sell.
I plan on telling everyone about my experience they social media.
I will pay more to have the right items delivered or picked up versus waiting on an order to come to find out that the parts are not correct when you need them.
I won’t be ordering anything from Rockauto again!

"Ordered 2 rotors, received 2 left rotors! Send one back, clocks ticking and get 2nd rotors 2 weeks later. Give to mechanic but he’s backed up! 3 weeks! I ordered rotors using Rock auto part finder but rotors DO NOT FIT! Frustrated I put them in shop to send back. I’m in the busy season so it takes a couple weeks. Finally email rock auto to get a refund and send back and I get blasted with 30 day refund policy! Well, you sent me the wrong rotors! They do not fit! I want a refund! "I ordered a rack&pinion for my audi. I didn't arrive for a bout a month I went looking for it. No paper work. Gave them the paper work info. It came the next week. Wrong part, which I didn't detect until I had installed it. Now I cant get any where with the customer service.
