The only thing about the order was that it was advertised as free shipping, which meant that it it would take a bit longer to receive. This was no problem because I ordered it well enough in advance. I ordered a Sony Alpha 57 last week with 3 day shipping it and was scheduled to arrive on Friday. I needed the camera to shoot photos for website and I am only down for a few days to take the pictures. The order looked like it went through, but on Friday I found out the order didn't go through because my shipping address did not match my billing address - security reasons. I call up Victor at customer service and he says he guarantees it will arrive Tuesday and will include a filter. The camera did not arrive due to a hurricane. I call Alex who is a part owner and between him and Kevin they send a new camera as overnight shipping and throw in an extra professional 2000 ma battery. The camera arrived the next day as promised and works fine. Thank you Kevin for the great service and excellent price on the camera ($150 less than any competitor). It take great shots and will definitely improve my website.

"I ordered Sony a55 on December 6, 2011 from their site. After a few days I got email asking to call their customer number to confirm the order. I expected that during the call I would be asked to buy some "accessories" and if I declined, they would said that they are out of stock or something. However, although they did ask me about accessories, when I said that the camera was the only thing that I needed, they said they would ship it and they did.

I got the camera somewhere around December 25, probably it even arrived before Christmas, but still I waited more that 2 weeks.

The camera seemed to be new and as far as I can tell it was an USA model. But it was definitely some kind of "open box" product: I ordered "body only" but the box was for "camera body and objective" kit and it even had all documents for the objective, except the objective itself, which somebody clearly had taken out.

Fortunately for me, the camera was good and it is still working. As I understood, RytherCamera is not an official distributor of Sony and therefore Sony will probably not honor their warranty for anything bought from this seller. It the product is defective you have to rely on RytherCamera only to make it right. I found out about it after I placed the order. If I knew it before, I probably would order the camera from an official distributor.

In conclusion, RytherCamera had low price for the product and I got lucky so I do not regret. But taking into account everything else, I think that the price difference was just enough to cover for the risks and troubles. Make sure you have learned all details and weighted everything before ordering from them."

"My experience with Ryther Camera was unusual. I ordered their Canon 7D on line for 1149. I also ordered a extra battery and chose to do free mail. When I got the confirmation e-mail, they said the camera will not be insured and will take anywhere from 2-4 weeks for delivery. I wanted it insured and earlier than that so I called and upgraded to fedex ground and the salesman recommended the longer life battery and a warranty. I chose to up grade when he offered a 75.00 upgrade for the battery and the 299.00 for the warranty. Now when I get the updated order info it is all lumped together. So I e-mailed asking for an itemized invoice showing what the costs per item are. After a week I had to call and leave a message and had to call back again before talking to someone. I am unhappy and said I wanted to cancelled the warranty. Now here is where it gets interesting, he said he will refund 199.00 for the warranty and I said wait a minute I paid 299.00 for the warranty. He said 100.00 went to upgrade your camera to a USA from an Import and the battery difference as well went to the upgrade. So the lesson learned, the low price for the camera is the "Import" one but their ad does not say this. Beware when buying from them as they do things a little differently than the reputable ones do.. The owner did call me to appologize for the issues. He said he was a small company who had only 7 employees and he is trying to be competitive with the big ones. I would suggest that you call them versus ordering on line. Ask questions and understand what you are ordering, this may avoid unwanted issues down the road. With all this, he still had the lowest price out there and he is trying to do a good job. Customer satisfaction is important to him.."

"Do not buy from them. I ordered a US retail version of canon t2i with 18-55 mm lens. they send me a non US retail version in the first time with their own box for both body and lens. I complained and they sent second time a camera body from a us retail box of 18-135 mm lens. of course, they took away 18-135 mm lens and left the canon t2i body. my 18-55 mm lens is in a separate white box, which I do not know where they get or may be form foreign country. This is not what I expected at all. it took more than one month to receive my order. "I purchased the 18mm-108mm lens by Nikon and was greatly impressed when it got the lens. Ryther camera had the best price that I could find for a brand new lens and they were easy to work with. They even noticed that I had accidentally ordered (2) of these and called me to confirm if that was what I wanted.

The lens however is a great addition which will give you the adaptability to shoot close up and far away without having to change lenses.
